Today marks what would have been Jack Kirby's 100th Birthday. I feel it is safe to say that without him, we would not have the comics industry that we know and love today. While there are many other creators and artists that we love, it all pretty much goes back to Jack "The King" Kirby. His work spans many decades and to listen to other artists and writers who knew him, it is said that his skill with a pencil rival that of the power of the characters he created. Aside from that to listen to others speak of him as a person, he was just a class act of a guy. So i ask all those comic fans out there, raise your books, pencils, pads of paper, raise your cigars (if you smoke them) and honor the man who made this industry we all know and love. Happy 100th Mr. Kirby. An excellent documentary on the man himself.
