Decided to take my guide from the Gazette and post it here, updated it a bit as well, for those confused\want to learn about the lair system: When starting out in DCUO, you will get a quest at level 9 to get your own base. Your base is your hideout, Where you keep your armories, base items, mods and more. Bases can only be located in Metropolis or Gotham as of now. Theme's prices are usually $10 worth in real life money, 900 Daybreak Cash or Loyalty points if you are a member, or 1000 if you are not a member. (15% Member discount). Atlantean & Brainiac themes are $15. Prices changes depends on locations: Depends on location, the prices goes between $525 in game cash to $1075. Some Iconic places will require you to spend additional 25 source marks to locate your base there. Atlantean lair location costs are all the same, $5. As you progress you might want to get the Lair system through market place or membership, to be able to use mods and special equipment such as Orbital strikes and Supply drops and backups. All of those are available in the mainframe: Important notes: Tactical mods Tactical mods are used to make your character more powerful. It upgrades the attack, abilities of your character and defense. Backup Backup trinkets are henchmen that comes in different variants depends on the lair you chose, or you can get them from vendors, or you can get the Joker\Riddler Goons\Qwardians from the Gotham\Qwardian Time Capsules. You summon them to aid you in battle. Sidekick Just like the backup trinkets, you can summon a side kick (You can choose the weapon of the side kick) to aid you in battle, heal you and more.Sidekicks you can get outside of the mainframe is Batman(heroes) or Joker(Villains) from the Gotham City Starter pack, or the one drops from the new Man-Bat bounty. Orbital Strike Orbital Strikes are powerful and used to damage bosses in raids. There is Zeus's orbital strike from the Amazon time capsule for example, and some can be found on vendors. Supply Drop Use supply drop to heal you and your group (if they walk to it). Upgrade Prices: 25 SM > 25 SM > 7 SM = 57 SM (in total) Note: The boost requires you to spend 7 source marks every 60 days. You can hover over the boost to see how many days are left to boost. Generator Prices: Lithium Cell - $1250 - Lets you upgrade slot 1 for 25 SM Ionic Cell - $1500 - Lets you upgrade slot 2 for 25 SM Hydrogen Cell - $1750 - Lets you boost (Slot 3) for 7 SM Total - $4500 in game cash The more you upgrade everything in your mainframe, the stronger your backup, orbital strike, mods and Supply will be. Make sure you pick up your items from that vendor in your base, it's in the entrance way: Also, one of the most important thing you want to have in your base is armories. So you can easily switch between DPS and your main role (Tank, Healer or Controller), and if you have PvP gear - an armory for this too. Armories also save your current style (You can always imprint different styles). Available Themes: Atlantean Theme New, comes with an extra room. Available on Market Place. Brainiac Theme New, was a gift, also comes with an extra room, and is on market place. Sewer Theme Available on market place. Penthouse Theme Available on market place. Tech Theme Available on market place. Eastern Theme Available on market place. Industrial Theme Available on market place. Bunker Theme Available on market place. Ancient Theme Available on market place. Cave Theme Available on market place. Gothic Theme Available from the level 9 base mission. Comes with Lair system. Deco Theme Available from the level 9 base mission. Comes with Lair system. Dive Theme Available to get as free to play (only free to play theme). Volcano Theme Available from Birds of Pray solo. You have to wait to get a feat and the base. Beside the Atlantean & Brainiac lairs, all other lairs can be use for PvP lair battles.
