GU41's PvP Gear Prices

From reading the Testing Forum's thread, I gathered it's going to take 448 wins for a new player to get the best PvP-Gear. 75 wins for CR97 + 75 wins for CR98 + 75 wins for CR99 + 223 wins for CR100. Whatever.

Does the higher tier gear pieces still exceed the F2P cash cap? Such as the Chest Piece being 5000 Marks and $2000?
  2. The Valeyard New Player

Isn't the Chestpiece 2000? What was the point of bumping the marks received to 200 if they're just going to bump up the marks required so drastically?
  3. Sabigya Steadfast Player

The chest piece for the current T5 is 1000.
We used to get 40 marks per win. 40-1000
200-2000. So you need 10 wins to get 2000 marks now. You used to need 25 wins to get 1000 marks to buy the chest.

That's good. So the fifth tier is still the final tier?

Still curious about the price, notably the cash portion.

The most expensive pieces cost $2000.

It looks like the cash prices hold steady through each of the tiers.
    Aeronaut Chest: $2000, 2000 MoV
    Logistics Chest: $2000, 2000 MoV
    Vengeance Chest: $2000, 2000 MoV
Elemental Android Chest: $2000, 2000 MoV
Gotham Knight Chest: $2000, 5000 MoV

That does it for me then.

I understand it's business. However, they (SOE/Devs) talk big about inclusion, being more inviting to new players by making changes attempting something unobtainable called balance, and then continue to exclude the F2Players from the best gear.

At the same time they are also excluding the very things players paid for too (Home Turf, Seasonal Trinkets sometimes obtained by using Replay Badges, Consumables from DLCs). Then still require the four Tier armor system, along with the win/loss rewards, with I'm more than sure with the same crap matchmaking system. This doesn't solve the main problems of PvP, it only serves the supposed Competitive/Tournament Veterans who want more standardization usually based on a 5v5 set up. Standardization, by the way, being something top PvP players from different servers can't even agree on.

If you want more people in PvP, you damn make sure everyone can progress equally. If you want them to stay, you make sure the challenge is balanced amongst the progression of every player. I don't want to play PvP knowing I can never get the best gear, nor do I want to play PvP knowing I'm going to be faced with Tier 4 characters every time I attempt it.

Obviously, the solution is just pay the $5 and become Premium. I would if I actually fully agreed with the changes. I don't. So I remain a non-supporter.

My prediction is that PvP-Arenas will remain the same regardless of the No-PvE gear ban, the Home Turf ban, the PvP-only Infinite Colas, or the brand new PvP-Gear's stats, because the core concepts of PvP-Arenas remain the same.

I can already see you are one of those people I beat in arena and say "pay to win". I find that funny why wouldn't I pay or support a game I play a lot? Just me playing a lot gives me skills and experience that you don't have thats where the real advantage comes from. Well either way when this new season starts those undergeared or in pve gear will get stats buffed up to cr 99 when facing opponents with higher cr and or gear while people with cr 100 get reduced (only weapon from what I have seen so far). So a f2p player you are free to jump and do arenas you will be on level playing field in terms of gear / stats but I'm pretty sure you will still lose often to players with more experience.

These prices are not correct at all - at least as far as the Marks. I just started on acquiring my Elemental Android gear and I know for a fact the chest is 1000 MoV, not 2K. And Vengeance was something like 150 MoV. The cash part, if I remember correctly, is right, but those Marks prices are way off.

This is the first I'm hearing of some of this. No more Home Turf mods? No more of my badass V expert and VI soders? That kind of peeves me, but I can see how it would help balance things a bit. I'm all for a PvE gear ban; acquiring PvP armor is not that daunting - except when it comes to the $2000 price tag on the higher level chest pieces. That, I believe is something the devs need to re-address.

And yes, the match-making is crap. I'm just now holding my own in some of those matches with full t4 and a few t5 pieces. Though, admittedly, that also says something about my skill as I'm still fairly new to serious PvP. But I'm getting better, I think. Legends is great practice.

I honestly believe that gear should have never costed money. Its not hard for any user to get 2000$ now gaining the marks takes grinding.
Gear should have never cost cash in the first place.

what is the new pvp cap? can we save our marks 4 the new gear?
  13. Gwalir Loyal Player

I mostly agree with this, though I think PvE should still cost money since it is so easy to get money from it.

PvP, on the other hand, is another matter entirely.

You're definitely going to want to save your marks up. Some of this new gear is expensive. Like 5k marks of valor expensive. So anything you can do to give yourself a head start now is definitely something worth taking advantage of.

We're talking about GU 41 cash and mark prices.

You can see details about GU 41 here:

If you're seeing something other than 2000 Mark of Valor for those pieces of gear on Test, I'd suggest filing a bug report.

Grinding to finish my Elemental Android set before this kicks in! Jeez, this is gonna be a haul. Only have chest and head right now.

All pvp pieces should cost 1500 or less to make it fair for eveyone and increase the game's popularity/competition. This will also remove the bad label DCUO acquired over the years.

What would be the fun in having a new PvP season if any "average joe" could get the top gear in a single night? I don't mind grinding for rewards because that means fewer will have them as many lack patience and diligence. The Current PvP awards system is far too forgiving to be honest with its lack of loot locks and high rewards for losses.
  20. The Enquirer Steadfast Player

Honestly making them difficult to get just promotes farming rather than playing.
