    Once this update comes out NO ice dps will be able to keep up with me even if they have higher stats. In fact I recommend they have higher stats so their numbers won't be so low below mine.

    Yes But they do matter in real situations in real raids and powers such as these will fall behind and get neglected from content like it has already been getting the past how many months and years? Yes i said years because if there balancing off of tunso tests for nature and electric they are also getting neglected as well. Because what's done in actual content and in testing parameters are not the same. And sore agreeded with me that set up times need to be looked at. Set up times the same why don't you guys get that?

    I'd like to see that invite me to your raid and i will switch my power to ice. While you are trying to melee bosses and die i will be safely sitting at 7m doing melee damage will not in any immediate danger and also burning down adds fast.

    You understand attempting to do any sort of combo can result in an interruption, not just holding animations. And if recovery from am interruption is so difficult for you to recover from then you should use the white mod that prevents interruption during LB and MG, lol.

    don't go around lying like that, i was able to get into a lot of raids when i was HL it's not impossible and i was dpsing it will be better. Nature and electric will be getting their mid range once weapons mid range gets done.

    Setup time aside, midrange for Light from my 10 minutes of testing is under performing. Most powers are at 30 or above. Light from my testing is on the high 28K to low 29K side.

    Getting test toon to get similar stats to my Live toon and I can almost match mid range damage with my Live toon. That is how bad Light update is. I'm only 5% away from matching mid range damage. That is very pathetic considering Ice DPS already produce much more.

    Melee is not an option and if you do, you get kick or left dead near the boss. Melee is only really viable in solo and duos.

    What we are getting here a simple boost in damage and two long over due updates to Light which now allows us to use Trinkets and gives Light a window to not lose the AM after interruption. I'm not all that excited about 5% increase in damage, trust me.

    I am also disappointed that Light does not have a vialbe melee option when in the 4-7M range.

    So between the lack of a melee option, giving Light an update that should have happened back in 2014, and only a slight boost over what I do today, I'm not impressed and consider this update GU50 all over again.

    Not sure what else to state other than the devs and Light updates have worn my patience thin. If this is released as is, the devs may have setup DBG to line their pockets with gold due to all the power respect tokens Light players wll buy.

    I initially misread this, but it's odd you leave out HL melee parses in this post. Even with that said, I've had plenty of parses that are hitting right at the brink of the midrange threshold for HL. It's not lacking at mid.

    Edit: HL melee is there, but your formatting buries it. Why not just post right after the mental melee parse.

    I'll switch Hal to munition and probably kill him in damage.....Jeez...LOL...

    Has he even tested it...Light update is not all that great. Does he not realize that they just nerfed the damage so now DPS is down to 28-29K and not the 33K it was a few days ago.

    And melee, it is not worth it as I hate picking up players near the tank, unless I'm the troll.

    I knew what HL does at melee and it's very good. Even at 3k more which is right around where I've seen it it will draw even with mental (or slightly behind due to counter) My main point was at midrange Mental is doing more than what I'm seeing with HL. Prior to latest test update they were almost dead even...Now they aren't

    You can make all powers produce the same number in a test by averaging. But, if the first ten seconds ain't with in 5%-/+ because of the way content is designed with so many adds they will fall behind. You would naturally make nature and electric way above parameters of 35.5k melee 30k mid 25.5k range because of the first ten seconds and because of the power mechanics. And again using these powers for examples. Not bringing in other powers to bash hard light. Just like light if they maybe cut down the four seconds to 2-3 it would help alot because alot of powers have fast setup times faster than four seconds. I'm trying to balance the power in a actual content that is played which people see, not against targets that don't move.

    And I'm telling you that I'm not seeing that. Got on test right after the change and still was able to get Midrange parses near or exceeding the top threshold. I'm not saying you're lying like I believe a few in here are. I'm just not seeing this dramatic drop off in DPS ppl are seeing.

    I get the damage within the acceptable levels but on the lower side....

    I did some of my own testing to see how Live vs Test updates compare...

    I can do almost the exact same damage on Live that mid range does on test. It is bad update, it is not even remotely a good update. The extra damage you get from by passing the animation and the extra ticks from Ram and Impact on Live puts the power when in the 6M range close to test mid range damage.

    First let's talk about exploits that were not removed on other powers...

    Gadgets and Mental..Hit EMP or MT and than distract and than EMP or MT again...your first EMP/MT can get the boosted damage than you follow that up with another boosted hit. That can be over 200K in a very short time. Why has this not been resolved?

    Ice exploit is the Elemental form. Why can Ice DPS go Elemental back to normal and not lose the boosted damage. Yet that was not fixed. I know this is a SC but it impacts your ability to produce damage and does not hurt the AM when used mid combat, Light takes damage loss and has to rebuild up its AM boosted damage if it uses a SC.

    Atomic combo can hit just as hard at Geiger abilities. I have some combo hitting for 40K regularly. Using that AM, I am well above the threshold for Tunso test.

    Ice even without Elemental form is above the threshold, meaning the average DPS is above 30K at mid range.

    All these powers also can use their mid range ability for melee damage, resulting in higher damage when you get closer. Light does not have that unless you lunge the target with a melee combo, which places you in a higher danger area. Is the increase in melee damage worth the extra risk, NO. Many here will not melee and many of the Light players I have ran with also do not melee. It is basically for duo and solo and most still do not use it, why even have it than is the question I have been asking myself for over a year.

    Since Light has zero boost in damage when in the 7M or closer range all other powers will produce better number and most of the newer content you can be in that range without too much trouble, therefore putting a power like Light further behind.

    Tin keeps mention initial damage, that is another issue that just compounds the problem.

    What I also noticed is no one was doing the 95% confident interval testing, meaning dropping the top 2.5% values and the bottom 2.5% values. When you do this for Light vs. other powers, Light DPS does not really move, but all others tend to go up as most rarely dip blow that 28K and when you drop those it pushes other power DPS upward.

    Statically speaking Light is inferior and this update is only boosting damage by a marginal % unless you melee and as noted, no one really melee with Light in this game, so from what I have seen and tested, Light will be better but instead of producing 16 million to an Ice DPS 25 million you may now be closer by having 18 or 19 million instead.

    The reason why Ice will always be behind is that light does not have a viable melee option ATM. Fix that and than Light maybe a viable and competitive power.
