I appreciate that Melee is better, and I also actually appreciate all the testers for practical feedback. We're relying on you guys to help get HL fixed and im not "arguing for the sake of arguing" or trying to say what you's are doing is "wrong". What im saying is HL is in such a bad state on live that we need EVERY possible scenario tested and recorded. Sparring Targets just wont do it. Believe it or not I actually love how interruptable HL is, having a "Risk/Reward" power keeps things interesting and makes you plan vs certain adds/bosses instead of just some mind-numbing 1234 Boom power, but right now considering theres already problems getting both Melee and Range loadouts with the Power Point set up its just not good enough. Im struggling to see the Reward here. If we cant get a proper melee/range PP setup whilst also getting the 2 necessary Innates from the Iconic Tree then that needs to be rectified. Plus with DCUOs focus being on 8 ppl Raids these days Melee being "OP" means next to nothing.

I would kick you too if you meleed a raid, this isn't because of a AM, it's simple logic that meleeing raids isn't good, raids aren't meant for meleeing, let the others melee and get one shot by bosses or adds. And you can still clip LB and MG, every single test I've tried both ways, the damage is almost the same with one or 4 ticks (it's the most I can get before the combo breaks), because the crits make up for the difference in count. And it's always the case that letting the animations in attacks was supposed to give more damage, so really this is just the system working as intended. Buck we're back to square one, if we can't clip everthing then light is useless, even though it can actually compete with most powers.

Well I tested it on the highest solo available, duo too, I would have tested it on the raid but by now no one on test is doing it, and even on test we can't solo queue. Hopefully today or tomorrow Ep 22 will be up, I will run it on my Light toon and see what difference the power makes on the latest content. That's really all we can for now, specially considering how unbalanced the parameters set by Tunso really are, they can make OP NPC every month, but can't raise the CR of sparring targets along.

40000 viewers and the devs still insists in put HL in a crap situation.

I think there is one thing that the devs cant complain. The most of the posts here arent just about complains and "fix it" arguments. People here a trully making suggestions based in math stats, in common and logical sense but the feeling is that we gain 1 thing and lost 2... really feel down with our situation...

Hmm.. well I'm not loving this recent "retuning" although I can see an upside with LB being a finisher. I did the usual Mid range parses and got pretty much the same results as everyone else. Just for giggles, I ran the Deep Desire solo with my 154 test toon. That toon only has about 5300 Precision and only BG for a melee combo move atm.

For the solo I did remove the very low parses from attacking the crystals.

This is the breakdown by power for both the parses and solo. LB was by far the hardest hitting power now, assuming because of the finisher aspect. MG wasn't too far behind. Tried to let the LB and MG play out as long as I dared. I'm going to go back on and do multiple sets just on the Tunso spec and see if there is any change from this.

My biggest remaining concerns that SEEM fixable is the Crit % being consistently sub 30's and the PP allocation lacking the ability to build a full range and full melee rotation at the same time while keeping the two DPS iconics. Doubt I would use the full melee rotation much but we should have that option without losing range abilities, iconics or having to switch armories. No other powers is asked to swap armories and neither should we.

I haven't been at my desk much this week, so I haven't been able to post a lot but yes that's what this fix addresses. It was specifically to fix the issue caused by Light over-performing when you blow past the channels at range.

To others who are proclaiming the "End of Light", give me a break! This isn't a nerf. If Light performed worse on test than it did on live, you could call it a nerf but you can't rationally call an across the board performance increase a nerf. This is a test server and you should expect things to change on it. If you can't handle that, you shouldn't be trying to help us test. You should stick to the live game.

To reiterate, this fixed Light doing more damage than it was supposed too in specific situations. It seems like the fix is working exactly as it should and Light is now exactly where it should be. If performing exactly where it should means to you that Light is now "ruined" or "worthless", you have a serious perspective problem.

Also look at the initial ramp up time look how low it is for each range. In raids/alerts/duos hard light is gonna get smoked look how low that initial 10 second parser is. That would be something to fix. Wouldn't you think? Regardless of how the average is if the initial test is what make so many powers different in damage. If we can somehow higher that first parser i would be happy with this update.

Honestly just being able to use Light Barrier and SC and not lose damage would be awesome, but at least for now the power seems ot be working great. Funny how some said testing was done just because they couldn't super clip, yet a new change was posted yesterday, but since it's not super clip they don't care, so much for being "true" Light players.

remember those take into account the 4 seconds, you could make up that damage with inspiration and chompers, but you sacrifice PP on other things.
  12. tinoman Dedicated Player

Yes but those seconds in raids/alerts the first 10 seconds make or break a power. I can almost be certain ice's would most def not be that low and if this about balance and is in fact a balance pass that needs to be addressed.

There are plenty of ways to work the "in and out of combat" timer if you want to scoreboard chase.

So let me get this straight you tested HL against Mental on melee but you used HL's ranged combo that gets no dmg buff in 7m range??

Some people are a waste of oxygen.

Went back to the dummies (League Hall, be nice!!) and did Mid Range for about 350 hits each three times. Did go back out of combat after each set to reset the timer. Did have to throw out one parse on the third set because I let LB tick to far and fell out of rotation.

Pretty consistent from the combined parses. Hope that means that the longer animation translates well into extra damage in Live server situations.

You make up that damage on bosses, I've been on raids where adds where burned by pets, then suddenly since bosses don't die by a pet one shot I had the chance to catch up, same with every power, Ice wont have 10k damage all the time, and at one point they need to setup the PI again, we don't, even now if the combo is broken you can just go back at it, the damage is still there.

Nerf said and well put... hardlight is better on test then on live... definitely not inline in damage with others ... keep up the good work Tunso

You don't make up enough on bosses for it to matter Nature and electric certainly don't do it. Look at sorc and earth they have the lowest parsers after the first 10 seconds and they still top the charts. Its really hard to catch fast power sets that achieve max damage fast and have the same potential after the first 10 seconds you will never catch them. A matter of fact most adds in raids will be gone in four seconds if your running with sorc, earth, ice, gadgets, mental dps' that you will never reach your am boost in damage there for be behind when there's so much adds leading up to a boss fight. How are you supposed to make up damage on bosses when ice is already ahead of you and can also keep going at the same pace? Because there balanced with your power with the same parsers but, can achieve max damage faster?

While I do agree with most of what you say, a power being better than on live does not necessarily mean that is neither balanced nor on par with the rest. Not the case with HL but keep it in mind when Elec/Nature updates come.

As long as you are here, it is obvious that you don't listen to completely horrible feedback but allowing players such as the ones that have infested this thread with false tests get traction leads to a 40000 views thread, with 70 ish pages of feedback from which only about 1 page contains useful information.

It makes it harder for people with actual good feedback to be heard, seen or even taken seriously. It certainly discourages many that could actually help from getting involved.
