GU 47 I'm waiting for you

My league and I are anxious to play GU 47. We actually like the stat clamp. Yeah it's gonna be hard but hey we'll enjoy it. If people are having problems and are whining because ''why should I be force to take more time to finish a low tier raid''. Well it's because your probably one of those player's that carry other player's and make things alot easier for said player.

People have been whining for not having any real challenge and ''get bored quick''. My league and I have been talking about stat clamp's for awhile now and how it'll make playing low tier raids or alerts fun again.

Look at the upside to this update instead of passing straight through stuff you'll get to show how well you know the mechanic's of the game and help better yourself in game. Now your having problems then it show's that you've been carried and you'll probably get the boot if on top of that you blame other player's.

You do know that the stat "clamp" as it is, is not going that way to Live right? Tunso is changing it?

Why wait? You and your league can buy some unmodded T1 gear right now and run whatever you like.

Unmodded t1 gear still lets you cake walk through all the fos raids....prime was a bit of a challenge but not much

I am looking forward to it also. I am hopping that it gets put a bit closer to how it was originaly on test, but that is me. I know vids were put up about cr 124 guys getting smacked down but I wonder how easy 4 of them would go through the content as is now on test. I found it frustrating that there were no vids of all the top cr players running through Fos2 as it is currently. I would like to have seen how much of a challenge the content would have been,

There is no stat clamping. I don't know why people keep saying this, since it's never been said by the devs and they have specifically said it's not stat clamping.

They will be updating how NPC's mitigate damage and adjust their DPS toward us based on our CR's.

Currently in the live game every new DLC the NPC's have to be made more difficult. This is done by doing a few things. One of these is they increase the percentage of your defense that is ignored by the NPC. This is a flat percentage that increases with each new tier of content and is called Armor Penetration. At this point in the Amazon Fury Part 2 content it's at 86% Armor Penetration. Because the percentage keeps going up in order to prevent constant one-shots they must also greatly increase our Health pool, the amount a player can heal out increasing our Restoration pool, the amount of power that can be supplied to the players to stay alive increasing our Vitalization pools, etc. Over time this is getting out of hand. It's making it so that our stats are going through the roof too fast and if the Devs let this continue it will make us way too OP for content that just was released a few months ago (i.e. look at Love and War now that most players are geared up in the Amazon Fury 2 content).

To stop the huge stat growth and to keep content more challenging for longer they are changing how stats increase. Stats will now increase at a much slower rate and Armor Penetration will be removed. To still make NPC's mitigate defense they are taking the difference in the NPC's CR minus the Player's CR. If this number is a positive number then the NPC will take less damage and deliver more DPS. As the Player's CR increases the difference between the NPC's CR and Player's goes down and it makes the NPC take more damage and deliver less DPS. This means that as your CR increases the content becomes easier.

Stats are still considered though, but going forward the increase in stats from armor will be minimal.

Once a Player's CR is higher than the NPC's then we will start gaining advantages over the NPC, basically the same advantages the NPC had over the Player when the NPC had the higher CR. At approximately two tiers above the content, instances will be able to be solo'd. In the current system a tier lasts 1 year. So when content is approximately 2 years old going forward a player will be able to solo it.

I know this is a lot of information but I hope it helps clarify what is coming in GU47. It's not stat clamping.

since you and your league likes challenge so much why not run old content naked and use only about 30 of your sp and save that in an armory . Dont force the rest of us who hates our stats flattened or clamped.

This in a nutshell. I want to clarify some things from the Testers point of view. Because I have Been on test, I have run content on it and have heard conversations from other people on test, again who have run content.

Currently on Test (Tunso's changes have not yet made it to test) the way stats are now (again, they are not clamped) there is little diffference between the T1 and T7 stats. That is SEVEN whole Tiers. Penryn has a great chart in the test area which shows the stats in Full T1 and the Stats in full T7.

The result is enemies in general are hitting much harder and have much higher healpools overall then people are used to. This means a T6-7 (About 113-115 possibly higher) can be defeated, rather easily, by Classic bounties. Yes, at 115 Minotaur, Clayface and Grundy can take you down.

For those on Test, this seemed wrong. At T1-T3 (and again this is the range most people were arguing about) many of us felt a T6 player should be able to solo most content. It seemed to trivialize progression for us if you could not really tell you were getting stronger. Add on the fact that the devs mentioned "Deathmiking" as intended to be possible, we just didn't see it.

Now we have Tunso's changes, which mitigate this by making Players who are higher then the NPCs hit harder and take less damage and again our character feel like they are stronger. Because content that was once hard is now easier as our CR get higher.

This was only ever about High CR in low Content, and the perception of how strong they should or shouldn't be. No talk was made of making ANYTHING in HoP2 easier, and the preception is still that content close to your current level should still require what it was designed for (so an AF2 Raid would still need 8 players at T7, maybe 7. but that would be about it. Otherwise you are going down)

This^ and for the record i dont carry anyone and i was against the instance buffing. I actually despise carrying other players. I pretty much refuse to do it and will leave the run instead.
  13. ArtOfFreak Well-Known Player

You're so right, there will be no more carrying people. This is because anyone over tier has no reason to run that content anymore...except for tier jumpers who never got their styles or feats, HAHAHA, good for you! Hummmm, spend extra time in an old instance because I've blown hobbled and then get no reward? I'll pass thank you very much and so will a lot of people. I'm actually glad this is happening. I'll have so much more free time for other things now and I never have to see a batcave, fortress or any other content below my cr ever again.

me and my league mates made alts few days ago we also waiting on Gu 47 too hit until then we ain't doing anything on the game.

yes sir. you have yourself a great situation in dcuo so congrats. i openly laugh at players who are complaining. i know i been there and done that so regardless of how reduced i am. ill be rolling in having a fun memory, share a story or 2 finish off the instance and roll out. easy breeze. we hit a snag and someone has no mic and ignoing tells. kick or ill take a minute. i will only walk out if we cant communicate to fix an issue. example tank in fos2 picking up the crystal on the bridge.

worst case situation i can leave if all else fails because i lose nothing. i dont know about everyone but i can live with this update
  16. Opamp Committed Player

I believe this is where the issue lies for most players. They were seeking the option to allow this to be implemented.

As of now - it's unfortunate that I can't help my lower CR friends without solo'ing the raid.

The problem is people are confusing what is happening and what is possible with what is not. There is no way to "optional" Stat Flattening. It is intrinsic to the way stats are set up going forward. A piece of T6 Gear on Test just doesn't have the stats is does on live. There is no way to "shut off" something like that. There is nothing to shut off. It can't be optional or temporary because that is what it is. Your stats are not the same as they were on live. Period.

I do not have a problem with optionally clamping someone so they can run T1 content even though they are T7, and not faceroll everything. But This was not and never should be about fixing that. This was about overbloated stat progression that was not sustainable. THAT and ONLY that is what flattening fixed. Now the progression is more gradual and sustainable.

The problem became, because the stats are not as noticeable the dificultly never decreased. T7 people do just as much damage in T1 as they did when they were in T1 gear. So they took part of the system (were if you were weaker then the enemies you take more damage) and tweeked it in reverse. So now, if you are a higher level then the enemy you take less damage and inflict more. Which balances out That you statistically aren't that much different then T1.
  18. Opamp Committed Player

Understood. Essentially business as usual for the user since at T7 I will still steamroll content. The logic behind it, however, is changing. Got it.

I was hoping for a way to allow me to play with my friends in T2. Guess it's just a dream!

I can't really say for certain. The changes to the system as outlined from Tunso haven't hit Test yet, so I can't see them in action. But from the intent Tunso said. No, at T7 you would steamroll through T2 content pretty easily. Short of removing gear, there is really very little a T7 can do to compete on a the level of a T2 person. And in general I am ok with that.

At some time will they have something that allows you to behave like a T2 person despite being T7, Maybe. But not this update and probably not "soon".
