Actually no. You dont sell game changing items for high prices. That curves the look to be pay to win. To the point where player feels like if they dont spend X they cant have Y and enjoy the game. while cosmetic items are completely optional thus their price can be a tad bit higher.
well that dashes the hope that down the road we'd get a few more cosmic skin options tinted differently. the silver lining being is this might also mean we'll get new materials over being flooded with variants of the cosmic skin.
no not at all. you look at any other game and you will see. cosmetic stuff sells for less than gameplay expansions. cosmetics dont really do anything so theres no sense in trying to sell them as if they do. the more something costs the more value it better have.
This is not good news, unless you can afford the, soon to be, price of 200 million. This is not a good news thing for anyone that did not get lucky enough to get one already. So no, this is terrible news. This should have been market place or in content. I agree with Backsied in this. Horrible implementation of a new idea. Almost no one I know even got a cosmic material, and I am talking about the ones that would use it more than others... the Role Players.
Yea and he thinks a few people on the forums will change the price? lol ok. How about all the players who never come here and they buy whatever? Or the super casual who dont log on often but when they do they will spend $ on new MP stuff? There would have to be people not buying whatever it is game wide for the price to maybe change.
Oh well some of us were saying right off the bat it should be in the MP while u kept posting "its a test" and its fine that people will give feedback on it and blah blah.
True however those games dont have expansions like DCUO. I mean 1 episode is 4$, that is super cheap. And other mainstream MMO''s sell their expansions form 40-60$. Some of FFXIV cosmetics and other items cost 10$-30$ and many people buy them which is why its in the top 10 worldwide MMOs. And then you have to look at our crowd who will throw hundreds of dollars on BB. They arent going to sell material for cheap.
Yes, I did when it was just one item that could not be changed, like an aura. Now, they made it the most valuable style item you can get, because it can be changed. There is a difference, and now they made it insane, and the community will charge so much for it, that it will be unreachable by most of the people in the game. I am not even exaggerating to say this thing will sell for more than 100 million, and possibly 200 million. And since they are making it changeable, there is no way they can sell it again, as another color. So yeah, now I see it for what it is. Also, a girl can change her mind.
They said the base items and many style items don't sell that are currently on the Marketplace. The former are overpriced, and the latter are mostly eyesores, yet they didn't understand why they weren't selling. I imagine the Batman vs. Superman stuff sold very well. Could it be that DC styles on the Marketplace are actually popular in a DC Universe game?
i think you might be onto something... why dont they do a survey or focus group or something instead of manatees in a fish tank. smh i think the bvs styles would have been even more popular if the movie didn't suck. i personally skipped on them because the movie was disappointing
I bought the emblems before they were removed from the Marketplace. I had a Superman inspired character, and I was tired of wearing metal gear to display the emblem. As to surveys and such, they are against the ToS for the forums. They've only had one poll that I know of, and it was on twitter. There have been several forum members who voiced their displeasure with the base item packs due to the fact that we only get one of each item, and also that the cost is way too prohibitive for a use once set of items.
forum rules only apply to players and btw no surveys is a silly rule. they can use twitter or other means to ask players how they really feel. that would be better than whatever theyre coming up with now
I'm sure they have a marketing team that made the final decision, but given that this feature was developed by the developers, you're still half right. I imagine they have some say in how features they develop are provided to their clients.
