GO SEE SHAZAM!!!!!! The second Captain Marvel movie of 2019 is just as awesome as the first! For reasons! And Thank God for this beautiful day! Thank you and God Bless! Amen, Alleluia!
Hmm... NAAHH... I rather save time, gas, frustration and money; I'll wait for it to come to DVD/Blu-ray before the fall and streaming services before that.
I will see Shazam and the new Wonder Woman movie when it comes out but I'm more excited for (and hopeful) that Warner Brothers / DCCU can get the next JUSTICE LEAGUE movie right. By letting go of Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill I'm not so sure..... I'm also hoping that they get the next Green Lantern movie right. GO BIG with it - Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Kyle Rayner, Guy Gardner, Simon Baz AND Jessica Cruz. Do it ALL............
I think Levy looks a little creepy in the Cap suit but it turned out to be a lot of fun. The last few minutes of the movie alone covers the cost of admission. Minor spoilers ahead: The whole mess would have been avoided if the wizard could have determined that young sivana was not worthy of the power without completely destroying his life. Thaddeus may not have been worthy but he also didnt deserve to have it offered to him at a moment that resulted in a car accident that crippled his already abusive father and led him down a life long path of vengeance. Ole Shazam couldn't appear to thad in a dream? maybe not when dad was driving down a dark winding road? Maybe thaddeus would have still otherwise turned out to be a crazed suer villain...but it was the wizard shazam who set him on his definitive path.
Warner Brothers / DCCU/ DCEU is not letting Henry Cavill go; media is getting played as his contract is getting renegotiated. Only Affleck has made it official that he's out of the Batsuit for good, which is a shame. Hopefully he gets back on his feet after the personal time he needs. Hoping that things may change and he returns to the role is a longshot, yet we can hope. Shazam was a great movie! My friends and I enjoyed it immensely, and I am excited for the sequels! The next JL movie should be much more coherent and thus better; the first one suffered from the director not being able to work on the film after tragedy struck. No one deserves losing their kid. It was unfortunate that the film as it was, didn't reach the bars it needed to win audiences.
Saw Shazam yesterday and I rather enjoyed it, it restores a little bit of hope that DC/WB are finally figuring out that Superhero movies don't have to be 'super emo grim dark'.
Captain Marvel made a billion, the Marvel name carries weight even if the movie was kinda meh. I was on the fence of seeing Shazam, but glad I went. It is decent. Shazam won't do a billion, but box office: 1st and 2nd weekend helps a movie a lot, can sway WB if they ought to put more money into a sequel or DC movies in general.
Thank you so much for the inspirational passage and topic so much appreciated. This wretched sinner is going to HELLBOY so you take care Joey and I hope you and your family enjoy many more Shazam movies to come.
Went to see Shazam today with my partner in crime and it was two thumbs up. Well scripted and great tie-ends with the laughter. The Brady Family has nothing over on the Shazam Clan. Two cut out scenes at the end. The second is available on YouTube and looking forward to see the sequal.
Just as an aside before I start, I've been fighting my smart-aleck instincts since I first saw this thread title. I've been having to hold back from just popping in to deliver a "YOU'RE NOT THE BOSS OF ME, YOU CAN'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!!!!" response to the title. Now that that's out of the way, it was a solid movie and fun to boot. It was well paced and kept moving nicely (not too quick but I wasn't checking my watch either). It was fun hearing some kids in the theater laughing at some of the jokes as well. As for the little things, I liked the nod they gave to Big. Darla was adorable. The tiger motif was STRONG in that movie as well (even on the cape clasps on the costume). Mark Strong was really good as Sivana as well, both with the more human moments and the over-the-top villain stuff. Definite recommendation on that movie.
