This is the earliest thread in regards to Gemstone Shield being bugged. https://forums.daybreakgames.com/dcuo/index.php?threads/earth-gemstone-shield-bugged.6856/ That thread was created March 2013, and about 2 1/2 years later Gemstone still has the same bug. What I'm guessing is that Gemstone cast from tray operates as a healer shield whereas aftershocking it will give it tank shield properties. Here are two videos showing how GS cast from tray doesn't work but aftershocking 1-3 times allows GS to work properly. Gemstone Shield is the most unique shield in the game but this bug has been a nuisance for quite some time. I would love to be able to clip GS or just cast GS and go back into block; instead, I need to aftershock at least once to receive the full benefit. This somewhat limits Earth tanks from a tactical perspective.
