Hello everyone! I've been trying to figure out a good build for gadgets dps. I need one hybrid/weapons expert and another Pftt. So far I have no odea what to do. Maybe someone has tested smth good and wants to share? Thanks in advance.
Did you at least tinker with gadgets at least a bit? If so please share what you've testet so far. I won't accuse you of anything because that wouldn't be fair without background informations. So I just ask if you tried things out already or did you just hop onto the forums? If the former is the case please share what you've come up with so we can look over it. You also might want to share it in some sort of Cutting Edge Gadgets Guide where you'll finde some helpful tips and discussions. If the latter is the case, there is some Cutting Edge Gadgets Guide in the Oracle's Database Section that will definitely help you to grasp the basic concept of the Gadgets power after the revamp. Why am I saying this? Because of the shortness of the opening post it seems to me as if this is just a plain question for the best loadouts. Don't take it pesonal - that's just what the OP says - or what it doesn't say. It's kinda short Best Regards Schimaera
Unfortunately, weapon expert/hybrid isn't good at all for any power. Tried and wasted a lot of mods lol. but for superpowers (full might) try gauss grenade (1), battle display (2), EMP/Dart (3) fear gas (4), implosion mine (5) and bunker buster SC. clip gauss grenade with battle display> EMP/dart> fear gas> implosion mine > gauss grenade> EMP so 1/2>3>4>5>1>3 repeat. Whenever battle display comes off cd clip EMP/dart w/ it. Do SC on supply drop. Another tip: switch implosion w/ cryo-foam. I use this on jumpy bosses. and implosion on adds. It's kinda like a 2nd EMP in that situation
Hej! Thanks for your answer. So far I have tested solo/duo hybrid build, which works quite fine for me. Teaser Pull, Cryo-field, Sticky Bomb, Napalm Granade, Robot Side-kick and Battle Display. For alerts and raids I have speced for might and my loadout is Stasis Field, Sticky Bomb, Napalm Granade, Para dart, Battle Display and Bunker Buster. The problem with this bulid is it's very power hungry and Stasis Fields requires a second or two delay before u use next ability. I have played gadgets years ago (it was my first toon) and I just recently came back to it. Right now I am mostly looking for a build for raids and alerts which will be quite steady - I don't need biggest numbers, but I want to keep myself powered up a little bit better. Trying to find something between. Thanks for the guide there, I'll check this out!
That is not quite the case. Hybrid is a thing that is totally viable for gadgets players and on the first days I was playing Weapons Expert on my Main (Rage) because I was too lazy to change all my mods at this point. Heyo thanks for the response, Teaser Pull is totally viable for setting up the electrified PI if you want to play a single-targeted loadout. In AoE situations Gauss Grenade would make more sense. In your named loadout you're using Sticky Bomb but nothing that sets up the Dazed Power interaction. If you want a hybrid build for solos/duos/alerts I suggest the following: Battle Display | Cryo Field | Gauss Grenade | EMP | Phonton Blast (or replacement) | Bunker Buster/Asphyxiation Gas You start off with lunging to a group of adds or a boss and clip Cryo Field with Battle Display. Then you do a weapon combo and clip it with EMP (I use 1 Handed Spin Chop but you can use whatever floats your boat unless the time you take to do the combo is like half the Cooldown of EMP so you can use it everytime it comes off cooldown as soon as possible) After that use a Combo and clip it with Gauss Grenade or one of the other two powers. Then repeat unless Cryo Field and Battle Display are off cooldown again. It yiels some nice numbers. ___ If you're more into using Supercharges more frequently replace Cryo Field with Stasis Field and Gauss Grenade with Sticky Bomb. That way you use your supercharge generator everytime it's off cooldown and such you're generating more SC faster. Rotation remains almost the same except that you start with Stasis Field clipped with Battle Display and then clip any other power with Display when it comes off cooldown. ___ For play from the Tray I only have one very power hungry loadout that will only work if your raid group uses supply drops correctly (not more than 1 at any given time) and if you're controller is good - or if you have two controllers. This is it: Stealth | Holographic Decoy/Neural Nutralizer | Gauss Grenade | EMP | Suppressor Turret | Distract Stealth Loadout: Neo-Venom Boost | Paralyzing Dart | EMP | Suppressor Turret | Whatever. With this you start with Turret (or precombat) and then Gauss Grenade setting up your PI. Then use EMP, go into stealth and use P-Dart (if you want use Neo-Venom Boost before it - it won't break stealth). Then you basically cycle between EMP and Stealth -> PDart and spam Gauss Grenade in between. The other skills are mostly defensive ones. Suggested Mods: Energized EMP head mod, maybe even Power Efficiency Chest mod to reduce your high power costs. In the named Guide-Thread you'll likely find even more loadouts for you. Best Regards Schimaera
Why are you using Battle Display in a PftT build? Are you clipping weapon attacks/taps in between your casts? Otherwise you just wasted 300 Power every 12 seconds for a clock. Just wanted to note that Sticky reacts to any PI, not just dazed as you seem to assume. Are you using weapon combos with this build? Otherwise Battle Display is nothing but a waste of Power.
There are those using it for the crit chance with the critical battle display head mod. Haven't tested it though in a PFTT environment.
