Congrats Bern! My question: Favorite DC Comics character, and why?

I will post more questions for you, Bern, once I've read the rest of the other questions so as to not repeat an questionings.

Who would be the leader? Both Caitlin and Ms. Marvel have reasonably strong personalities....I'm not sure I could see either taking a backseat in the team.
In my mind I see Ms. Marvel being more of the "Leader" and Caitlin being a close second. Yes, they are both strong personalities but I believe that Caitlin would recognize Ms. Marvel's military experience and be comfortable in a secondary leader role.

What would you do about Maul's loss of intelligence as he gets bigger? Do you think there could be any Hulk / Maul issues?
No, I don't and here is why: Maul, to my understanding doesn't usually grow to a size where he is not in control. The couple of times I have seen him do this is when he is under extreme emotional distress [angry].

Now, this question is very important...and an incorrect response will result in much fist shaking: Which Venom do you mean?
Eddie Brock, more so the Venom from the Lethal Protector series
Also, why Venom...what about Toxin (and which Toxin)?
Because I am a big fan of the old school Eddie Brock Venom.


Ohhh....which martial arts? Do you still train? Do you find that as you get older you're more drawn to the "softer" (less strikes, more control) side of martial arts? Stand up striking, or down and dirty grappling? What about weapons training?
I started training in a Ju-Jitsu style where I received my shodan and instructors certification. My teacher and I had a falling out due to life choices he made [drugs] and I was going off to college so it seemed like a good time to part ways. I then ended up in an Okinawan Shorin Ryu Karate school where I eventually received my Shodan and Nidan there. I eventually ended up leaving the school because the school was taking a more "capitalistic" approach to their teachings and I being a traditionalist didn't want to be a part of it. I left the school and was still in college, started a class on campus that ran for a few semesters and later turned into me working a police officer in the community where we started a community program. I began grad school a couple of years after that. Also at that time my girlfriend [now wife] were looking to get more serious and my career was becoming more demanding. I have since hung the belt up but I still have a place in my heart for it. I like the stand up and striking stuff mostly, I also like the grappling and joint manipulation stuff also. As for weapons I was a fan of the Bo, but also liked the Sai.

Ohhh....this is a tough one......I am not sure I can pick just one. One I think everyone has a special place in their hearts and minds for is Batman. I loved the comics growing up and loved the Michael Keaton movies. The character [at it's core] I think represents a many things to many people. For me, Batman is that guy that is always one step ahead of you and is ready for whatever you throw at him. He is a guy who doesn't always want to fight but will to defend his "family". I also love the idea behind the idea that anyone can be "Batman", that person that you know is out there and has your back and is that person that you know you can go to for help when you need it. The dark shadowy brooding thing is cool too.

I am also liking the character Constantine more and more as I get to know him. I like the snarky, witty, thing and the magic and mysticism is cool. The idea that there is something else going on around us is something I relate to in some ways. More than anything DC/Marvel/Image, any comics, I am a fan of the gentle giant type characters.

Not really. I spend SO much time listening to others talk about things [which I do enjoy] but it is nice to be able to have someone ask me questions about me and give me the chance to share my own thoughts and ideas/feelings about things.

Yes, but they end up creating and underground bunker bakery utilizing the stumps of the trees as shipping and receiving points.

What is your favorite book? Author?
Honestly, I don't read much. I really did like "Tuesday's with Morrie" by Mitch Albom. Also, for professional books, one that I really like was "One Nation Under Therapy". One idea I took away from the book was "Kids can handle dodge ball" and that we are doing them a disservice by eliminating things like dodge ball or activities where there is a clear "Winner" and "Loser" and that this culture of "everyone" wins is creating a sense of entitlement among kids and not allowing them to develop necessary and/or appropriate coping skills for when things don't go the way they would like them to go or think they will go. I will come down from the podium now.....

I would probably be a somewhere between Green and Red [not yellow] but maybe an Amber Lantern? Using will and determination coupled with the rage/anger that comes from seeing someone do wrong or having been done wrong by someone and then taking that feeling to instill fear into the offender to never do that again.....??

I really didn't know what to think when I read that story about the guy making the boobs of the figure soft, I mean it's different but WHY? What is the purpose behind the that? If I had to pick a part, maybe.......I am not sure there is a good answer to this.....the hands?

To eliminate the 9-5 work week and move towards 3 day work weeks consisting of 3 hours with a 1 one lunch break, but I would do it in way that is......evil....

It's been a while since I have seen any Anime. I watched "The Record of Lotus War" a long time ago. I would be into a good recommendation as I am not opposed to watching Anime. Something with magic and sorcery to it, good fights [believable ones] not a fan of the giant robots or sword/gun play in them.

Yes, I am. I think it is worth it. On top of the free shipping you also get Amazon instant video and can watch a lot of stuff on there for free, sometimes whole seasons of stuff.

Favorite winter memory?
Recently, this winter going away. In all seriousness, I like being able to go out in the cold [clothed appropriately] and get a good cup of coffee and feel the warmth radiate through my body and warm it back up. One of the best feelings of the winter.

Then I would like to recommend Fullmetal Alchemist & Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Brotherhood is the better of the two series, but the other is the original and has important aspects that are missed in Brotherhood.

Great fight scenes, magic/sorcery, fantastic characters. There is a big metal guy but he isn't a robot...and you will end up loving him.

No, I have not watched Vikings. Saw the preview/commercial for it but never got into it. I am more of a Bones/Law and Order guy
