Gonna tick off a lot of Zimbabwians with their exclusion though. Then THEY can be here crying about not being represented.
why would they be excluded? if they have a flag i dont see why they would be excluded, maybe wouldnt be the first one made mind you but could still make it in somewhere im sure.
Now if only we could get you to move past the desire for limiting it to just a poster. If you could comprehend that I, as well as others here in this thread, have pointed to the Batman: The World poster pack as examples of the community being accepting and open to heroes existing outside of the US in other countries. Places that have national and cultural identities of their very own. Also, it really is about time you have gotten back to your roots (at least in the sense of the reasoning you first presented in this thread) of continuing to fit into the definition of marginalization of people because they are in a minority. Again, without me ever having to change your phrasing or the definition of it.
The point was that unless they put the time into EVERY possible flag, someone will be left out and in here crying like the OP. Personally, I'd be fine if they never added the US flag either, but they did...and thematically it works as part of this ep (and the comic it's based on) takes place at the High School and in the US a flag is pretty common (required even) at high schools.
I think a Global Guardians “Flag / Emblem Pack” would be a good addition to a time capsule. Would shake up the usual emblem offering just a bit. Then could add in a style and collections based on the Global Guardians, Great Ten, etc https://dc.fandom.com/wiki/Kong_Kenan_(Prime_Earth)
We ARE talking about base items, yes? You used the 'The World' POSTER pack as your example for a 'non-episode', other culture/locale example...yes? I was simply continuing on the 'poster' theme. And honestly, if it were to be 'fair' it should be EXACTLY the same as the aforementioned US Flag pole base item that got your panties all in a bunch. Of course, THAT base item was an EPISODE related base item....so I guess we've come full circle again. Gonna have to wait for that Zimbabwian episode now that a free 'poster pack' type item is off the table. Oooooh. 'Marginalization'....that's the center square of my 'buzzword bingo' card. So I got that going for today at least! If you could throw a 'mansplaining' or 'equity' in there....I just might have a BINGO!
they could add every flag, it doesnt have to be all at once. oh and most of the High schools ive seen fly the state and city flags as well (honestly a Dakota City flag would have been pretty cool.....js)
I think it would have been fun to have an alert inside the High School with the final boss fight in the Cafeteria! FOOD FIGHT! Plus the missed opportunity to get some Cheer uniforms! Go THUNDER CATS! Rawr!
I never said they couldn't, but I'd wager if they did drop a few at a time, those people in the 'last' set will be whining about it. It's a matter of time to program, and maybe even legal details to work out. I'm not sure if you can just use any country's flag image in your for profit game. And a Dakota City flag would have made thematic sense for the episode, so no objections there.
let ppl whine about being last they do about every other part of this game anyway. and hey if they cant add a flag cuz of legal reasons im sure everyone would understand that ( or at least most of us that hold a bit of common sense anyway) but i dont see the harm in asking if the are going to add more which was the OPs well OP lol if nothing else tho im hopeful we can get some of the fictional places flags
Yep. I 100% did use the poster pack as an example for item additions outside of episodes. More importantly, I didn't say a single thing about it having to be only posters. Your suggestion of the flash poster pack and squinting at them with 1 eye did stick with the theme, but also didn't say anything about other items aside from posters. The model for the addition of flags is in game and it does make it easier add them. We are making progress with you using the word "fair" about possible additions of flags. It's also the most appropriate word for addressing the can of worms. It doesn't matter that the flag is an episode addition or not. This is the point you are missing.
But it IS how the US flag ended up being added....and that's the point YOU are missing. Now, had it not been part of an episode, and DBG just added it as part of some 'Important flags from around the world' and just had the US flag there...by all means...get bent out of shape on that. But that's not how it went, so maybe be less offended and 'marginalized' over it. If you go back to my original reply, I 100% agreed in a 'fair' situation. Let's pick one EU flag and add it. Seriously, if you had YOUR choice, who should it be?
It doesn't matter why the flag was added because they have stated in the past national flags would never be. Obviously that statement is no longer valid because it is in the game. They have added other controversial items in game and I applaud them for it. Like I have stated several times in this thread. These are good things happening. My original post asking about other flags from other countries still stands. They have obviously added items in the game that show heroism transcends borders with the posters. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for more items in game to reflect the population. Limiting it to 2 flags is not a 'fair' path. That's why I won't even consider that question. Limiting it is not the answer.
