The introduction wouldn't be such a slog of 1) we didn't have to go to the Pub after every outdoor mission like remember our initial tutorial level 30 missions? 2) you have to play king of the hill AND escort missions with Faust 3) we have no movement speed in the Desecrated Cathedral and 4) those longish unskippable cutscenes.

Tbh, it should be a whole setting to skip cutscenes. Cutscenes are horrendous sometimes.

They have a certain number of time episode task/mission/alert should last like someone that need to write 300 words text and add extra word just for the count so they put filler and they also get something from it the number of time player stay online is higher and look good on report

It's an attempt to keep players online longer for them to be more "sticky" as their CEO mentioned ln the EG7 annual report but they're going about it the wrong way. They need more content to engage the player and want them to spend money on the game not tick them off with frustration and make them go away. In my opinion thls "chapter" does the latter not the former. Players won't stay for this.

Do they? How do you know all that? You're guessing, aren't you? There is a benefit to keeping players online for as long as possible, but that's because the longer people are in the game, the more likely they are to make purchases. The company doesn't make money just from you being online. Accordingly there's no benefit in having people running around doing extended make-work, because it's in the periods *between* them actually playing content that purchasing decisions are made (with the exception of Replay Badges, which people may buy whilst in content to reset Loot Locks). How do you think they make money, just by having you log in and stay for 8 hours, for instance?

Not guessing last EG7 annual report they say the time peoples spend online drop and they say they would work on that in one of pass producer letter . Dominic Blue also read it he talk about it.You should probably go read the letters and the last annual report on the Eg7 site

I wouldn’t mind that long solo story if it wasn’t a locked gate to play the rest of the dlc.
I can see it being a way to keep one character engaged longer, but isn’t the idea to keep me engaged with other players? Like being available to run instances, which for me is the hardest part of the game, actually having the q’s pop.

That’s why alts are so valuable to everyone. Other players have 8 or so versions of me to be available for the same instance at different times throughout the day/week, and I’m not re-running content with no reward.

If there’s only 8 of us online and we all have 8 characters, we are available for 8-lengths of time, each, not just one measure. But to have my other alts have to log in and take an hour (at the least) before I can help other players, and be helped by them, doesn’t help me, or them.

I think I confused myself while trying to type this out I hope it makes sense.

I had to rewrite this because my browser crashed, so I'll make this quick.

    - The alert and raid should've been PvP. I've suggested something similar on the forums, but I was talking about a PvP instance, not PvE. The first King of the Hill mechanic in the alert is broken; it stops spawning adds while the timer is still running.

    - I don't want to play the same thing 3 times on the same day. I have no urge to play the On Duty content for real. And I see no point in playing this dlc seriously.

    - I queued as a healer, and then I realized there was no need for that when the match started, so I think they're trying to make supporting roles obsolete - the same fate of factions, leagues, and mentors/origins.

    - The amount of bugs and glitches in this shows that DoR didn't go to Test Server because they wouldn't have time for polishing because they're building their house on sand - and the sand is EG7. People wouldn't have logged in today to play this if they knew how unplayable the state of the post-story portion is, especially the demons vs zombies mission. Which is a shame because the world is beautiful, and the story is pretty nice.

The dlc exposed the the current issues with the game: a well-intentioned team held hostage (metaphorically speaking) by a holding company and a total lack of trust between devs and the community. Those things will kill the game, and it's not a matter of if - it's a matter of when.

Lol absolute not. Unless you mean it in a way where that scenario is a new PvP instance, while something completely different was used to be the actual PvE alert and raid. Forcing PvP on players would have just made me, and possibly other players, skip on this content.

That may be unintended. I've run the introductory mission on 3 toons so far. Only one of them - an acrobat - lost fast movement in that part. The 2 speedsters zoomed through it without issues.

That would imply that players liked the new dlc and that they actually like those instances as they are right now - and I don't think that's what's happening right now.

Honestly, It's complete trash, recycled mission inside of recycled missions? what a joke, for the last two years, we've been told to wait until the new team gets up to speed it will blow you away, Well it didn't its the most halfassed thrown together crap I've ever seen in the 14 years I've been playing. If this is your best then your best wont do. (apologies to twisted sister)

Well, I like them as they are now more than any PvP instances. :p

Do not mix PvP and PvE together.

My assessment is pretty much in line with the OP. My friends and I also had a ton of NPC's rubberbanding and response delays, which made the "creep up on them" type of mission challenging. I assume this will be fixed and/or lessened once the population levels out.

The back and forth to the pub can be partially fixed, or definitely needs to reconsidered before the next Chapter. There are a number of quests where you can either report back to the originator to get the next step (e.g. Zatanna, Etrigan) and/or have an agent in the field, say outside the wall of the city.

One last thing, while I enjoyed the breadth of experience for the opener, it was more time-consuming than I liked. The last part with the cathedral "walk through" was quite long. This is not a problem so much as I wish I knew ahead of time. In future, perhaps have dailies and weeklies open earlier in the process and then continuation of the story provide additional rewards. I wouldn't shorten the existing timespan of the content, just chop it up a little. That would allow a player to get requirements out of the way but leave plenty of additional exploration of the story.

For me the long story quests is not a issue. I've played final fantasy rpg game for 30 + year and I like more story content then what dc has done.

Now the issues! There was not a single time in the open world that I was not experiencing lag or bugs.
I got on after work so it would have been when the game population was at its highest.

Number 2 is probably my biggest issue. The alert and the raid are the same instance just adjusted a little for 4 or 8 man.
This means we got the amount of content that we get back when we was getting monthly expansions.

I did run my second character after 11 pm last night and everything was alot smoother and it was more enjoyable then the frustrating first. But I did count how many times we had to go back to a pub for what would have been a phone call msg. Its 10 times we had to.

Let it skip like the tutorial after we done it once. When creating the next new toon on the same account, we can skip the Brainiac ship tutorial (for example)

As a glimmer of hope... (false, heh, heh, heh...) I will put forward a theory (don't take it seriously, I beg you ;) ):

The developers mentioned that each chapter, unlike the DLC, is part of one larger story, and also in the event tab... the duration of the event... for some reason is only a month... so expect new content in a month (a new raid, a new "blue lantern" powerset.... in fact, this will be an additional boss in the open world and the emblem of the blue lantern ;) ) :p:D:D

Just a follow up - I ran the mission on another speedster. I lost fast movement this time after entering mausoleum, so I just went back out, re-entered and I had my speed back. The door looked closed and the NPCs were not talking, so I though I was locked out of the map, but I was able to just walk through the closed door.
