Fire glitch?

Ok Ive tested and used this many times since revamp. Spontanious Combustion burns everything you walk past after it activates including objects. I have went in the vault used spon. c. on a box then just ran around and saw the damage numbers start popping up and the boxes get destroyed. I am pretty sure its not ment to do that even though its nice that it does can be very useful.

It's meant to do this. It sets players and objects on fire. If there's no target, it sets you on fire and then burns everything that comes close to you.

It's one of my favorite moves! While I'm waiting for a raid group to be set up, or in between queing, I'm running around my base hitting Spontanious Combustion and causing all my base items to burn/blow up. lol

I personally have no issue if its ment to be like that however it can inflate fires dps alot. A PvE examle: In gates I can do Spon. C on 1 Target then just run around and also burn every1 else without even touch them plus if some1 else hits them the P.i. activates and does a burst hit based off of my might. A PvP example: In FoS 8v8 I can just use spon. c. on group run to a different room and wait for power up all the while still doing damage to group and again if some1 hits them activats P.I. based off of my might. That damages adds up very quickly and thats just that power alone not including stacking other DoTs with it.

The inflation isn't that big of a deal. Honestly, it does about the same damage Inferno does to a target even with the extra tics from other players because the burning DoT is rather low.

Well it does add up especially on a strong might based dps because even though the tick gets lower cuz of the damage spread the P.I. dont. Also Spon. C. is the only fire power that stacks on itself. So basicly the more adds the more damage in the new T5 raids where HL and gadgets dps cant just 1 shot the adds that damage is gonna be noticed and I can already see the complaints flooding the forums.

The way this power works is it provides up to 3 procs per target for the duration the power is in cooldown. This does include new targets should you/them come close enough even after the power is used, but before it no longer on cooldown.

Hence, "spontaneous". This move, albeit VERY useful, it isnt OP by any means. The damage from it is rather low, just the tradeoff it has is it can hit a ton of targets. This move is probably the ONLY move that is noticeably improved over the fire revamp. Anything else was mostly minor tweaks with strings attached, and the number of nerfs fire received makes this move rather overrated.

Yes, this move is incredibly useful. No, it does not help make up the losses the powerset incurred.

Other than some damage ticks of 30 or so to some nearby objects once in awhile, this doesnt inflate numbers. This is probably even less inflating than coned weapon combos that hit objects, and DEFINITELY less inflating than the gadgets turret and the CB exploit was.

I'd say over the course of an entire inner alert (ton of objects), spont. probably will add 1k damage over the course of the alert, due to hitting objects. Given the average 2-DPS team setup will result in roughly 4-500k DMG OUT per DPS, the 1 to 500 inflated damage isnt exactly something to cry over. Not only can this not be exploited further, but in any other current instance the inflating effects you speak of will be far less. Transmute in itself was probably 10 times worse than this until it was beaten by the nerf bat.

To put that in perspective, the clown box exploit yielded 5000 inflated damage EVERY TIME it was used. The inflating spont. does is considered a bucket of sand in comparison to a 3-mile stretch beach the clown box/turret exploits did.

That's where dots will become relevant again - finally. With the increased powercost for powers in T5 we must aim for efficency again and dots win there.

The power does not stack on itself. Any effects this power has (including "unused" procs) end when this power is no longer on cooldown. You can hit every add for 3 procs apiece, and any hits that add takes activates one proc per hit....but should an add not have been hit for all 3 procs once the power is off cooldown, those procs are lost. Since you cant cast the power and benefit from the procs by a previous cast, no "stack" can possibly occur.

WD is a very good power for fire DPS for this reason. WD hits everything in the area multiple times, which will set of their procs nearly instantly every time spont is used. WD is nice damage, but I would still use WD for this reason even if WD only hit 1's on everything.

Id take intimadation over spont combust. Any day.

Well....I wouldnt give spont up for anything really. It is a very well-done, unique move for the powerset. I commend the devs for it.

That said, OTHER moves in the fire powerset are not quite up to par....as great as spont is, keep in mind it is not spammable by any means.

I will admit it's hilarious to pop that power on an enemy team in FoS arena with the red/purple buff.

That's the very definition of "teamwork"

That extra couple of hundred damage to objects is OP, clearly needs to be nerfed into oblivion

I have tested it on the sparring targets if you dont activate the prop the actual DoT stacks on itself, however I dont know if this means that for a small period the prop stacks as well I will have to test that and watch the combat log.

Fire is fine. You rarely see fire dps and top dps in a raid.
