Exobits decreased in price on the broker

I never thought I see the day they would decrease in pricing on the broker. Used to buy them on an average of 150k now they cost 96k a stack to 100k. Exobyte stacks are now 800-950k which is damn good because a decent stack used to cost 1.25 million at least to buy (assuming you buy them at 150k - reds etc).

Or is it the Bundle aura sells that is decreasing the prices? I'm stocked up on reds like crazy. :p

I don't think the bundle sells are effecting the price of bits/bytes. It is more likely that because half of the population now play Destiny or other games, that lead to less buyer, lead to sellers under cutting each other to the point of where we are. I'm pretty sure bits stack will stay under 100k until atleast the next DLC comes out. We're in a recession lol

Just save what you have for when the new pvp season starts then they'll go up again.

Supply and demand... Total recovery kits mean less farming or buying bits for your gear..... People just keep recycling their bytes now.

It also seems to go down a few weeks after a DLC release. Less people are getting new gear, so less modding is needed. Bit/Byte prices skyrocket during the first couple weeks of a new DLC.

At least on USPC, they went down a bit at the beginning of T6 as synthetics were sufficient for most and FEVIs were so pricey. Then after DLC11 they went up back to normal levels except for the last few weeks. I suspect things like bundles and the replica furniture are part of the reason but more likely just plain ole diminished demand.

People probably noticed in one of the threads that Test has Synthetic VI on it for GU41. I read it in a thread a few days ago, but I'm not able to verify due to not having Test Access.

Edit: I'm not making any accusations or anything.

why is this shocking news? when exobits first hit the scene bit stacks were 15-16 mil, while byte stacks on the other hand were double or triple that price. you're talking about used to be 150k, 1.25 mil??? smh.

    Yup.

There's really no real consistent way of making much money anymore. Exo-farmers now have to farm 2x as long to make what they used to.

I don't even use my own bytes anymore unless I get raid drops. I'm perfectly capable of controlling/DPSing/Tanking/Healing anything with Synthetics. No need to waste bytes on anything less then the best gear available.

I remember when I had Trillions because a single bit sold for 999999999 on day 1. People then got smart and I'd sell in open world for 250 Million.

    This.

Full on mods are not needed to complete content, synthetics will suffice. The only time I worry about putting a real mod into gear is if it is the raid drop top tier gear. Then I can use a total recovery kit to recycle the exo's I already have. Couple the reduced consumption of new exobits with the same number of people exo farming...supply goes up, demand goes down, people have to lower prices to sell them. Basic economics.

I think they are, here is why:
The current bundle comes with two total recovery kits.
On EUPC the prices for ex recovery kits start to drop allready, too. Don't know about bits/bytes though, I never buy or sell them.

I know when exo's first came into the game, i would farm for an hour. Then turn around and sell 100 exo's bits, not bytes for 100mill. In one night, my friends and me literally had billions. Then came the rumor of the money reset. We all went to the broker and bought any and every style we didnt have. But now with recovery kits and full recovery kits, people dont need to buy exo's anymore. Hence the price drop.

Saw a guy selling stacks of bytes for 500k each so yeah..

Total Recovery Kits, Synthetic Mods and a decline in player population have all played a part in any decrease you’ve seen.

Remember, while I’m sure there are still many super rich/diehards out there, many have left the DCUO and are not here drive up prices.

Everything supply related skyrockets around a DLC release. I was cranking out Limes on the broker for my R&D feat and they were going for 40,000 to 50,000 for a stack when HoP dropped. The market couldn't keep up with demand for a few days.

Exobits have been decreasing in value in recent times cause of various reasons:
2012? Not sure - R&D Scanners were introduced - Supply of Exobits increased up due to the increase of Exobit hunters, which means they decreased in price.
2013 - Recovery Kits were introduced - You can recycle your Exobytes from mods, which means you have less Exobits/Exobytes to farm/buy.
2014 - Total Recovery Kits were introduced - You're guaranteed a 100% Exobyte return from your mods, which means you don't even have to acquire any additional Exobit/Exobyte.

Plus, don't forget. A few weeks after a DLC release or new PvP season release, they also decrease in price probably because people are close to finishing their gear sets, which means they have less gear to mod.

Really? Thx for the update...I guess I will be stacking up on exos :)

So what you are saying is that the time is ripe to buy low and then later sell high? ;)

Its the same after the last money glitches.

Without glitches the only money that comes into the game is from running instances and selling stuff to the vendor. That means not going for salvage feats or prestige or any such things. If you do money enters the system even more slowly. Money drains out of the economy at 5% per AH trade so the total available in game cash is slowly shrinking. I don't include vendor purchases as relatively speaking they are tiny.

On EuPS we had the first big money glitch and prices of everything were insane then they slowly dropped and were almost starting to get sensible until the second money glitch happened. Eventually the AH duty will balance against the amount players are bringing through running stuff and prices will stop dropping.

Its not just exobits its everything. Class A after the glitch went for 500 Million, after the initial splurge they settled down to 50 million, now they go for 4 to 6 million. Its always supply and demand but you have to remember its in context to the available cash pool
