Number 1 excuse i've been hearing lately when you beat someone in damage Person1: Dang how many sp do you have Person2:Blah Blah Person1:Oh no wonder, you have one more sp than me What are some excuses you've been hearing lately when you beat someone in damage
I have heard everything from "you have more SP's than me", "Earth is OP", "I was lagging", "I'm speccd for pvp", etc, etc....
It's what some people live for, while others think it's the be-all, end-all indicator of how good you are, and I don't think some parts of the community will ever get over it. Personally, if I'm in group content and someone outdamages me, I just acknowledge it and move on to the next task. No skin off my nose.
When Deranya outdamages me on her healer, i always say that i was too bored and lazy (whisper : everydayyyyy)
If it makes no difference to you then why worry about if it makes a difference to others? kinda contradicts your nonchalant attitude towards it. I don't really look at scorecard unless i am trying out a new LO and comparing numbers. but that doesn't stop the other dps from reminding me that i beat them when they start spewing excuses
This post isn't about that, save this speech for some of the boring ''I just want to get through content, everybody's a winner threads'' k,thanks.
People chase scoreboard because its the biggest competition in the game for pve. It's nice to know that you won at dmg, but its not a big deal. As long as the numbers are close I don't care. If one dps is not pulling his weight he is gone. And if I see people who are good dps and cool people ill run with them again.
I'm a troll, when I'm in troll I couldn't give less of a care. Except everyone (general community) is so worried about finishing the content lightning fast. When I'm in DPS (rarely), I use it as a gauge to see where I am. I need to. I didn't spend time getting 141 SP, or spend time browsing the forums for input from others to become a subpar DPS. I think a lot of us want to be the best we can be, whether or not that's better than someone else. If I switch powers or try a new loadout, I would like to know if I'm suddenly getting higher or lower than people I was above or below before. That said, it isn't enough to make me go FOTM, I use what I like, and there are so many variables to DPS anyway if you play flexibly instead of mechanically (Running content like a clock, finishing your rotation before you do a pickup, etc). DPS honestly DOES NOT matter if you're finishing the content in a reasonable amount of time (reasonable determined by the group). That said, it makes people feel awesome when they do crazy good DPS. I'd hate to take people's accomplishments away from them, it is in fact an accomplishment whether others think it matters or not. It's only a problem when players put their DPS ABOVE the goal of finishing the content.
The best i have evr heard was when they blamed it on the fact that i was in a certain league at the time, like being in a league gives a buff or something. Other than that its normally "are you on a cola?" or blame it on lag or what would appear to be intentional deaths.
Sorry: but more SP IS and PS3 lag MAY be legit. I don't expect to keep up with somebody over 100 SP. I also had horrible lag on my PS3 to the point I didn't quere operations or T6 because I'd get left behind. Of course, if you have scoreboard, somebody HAS to be last. Doesn't make you the WORST ever, just means in THIS group they were more efficient. Quit taking things so personally.
100sp is much at all lol. I'm on a ps3 and sure I get some lag but not enough to make or break top spot
