Event group is really annoying

More than 80% of the time half the group are afk peoples waiting you to do the boss fight so they can claim the reward without doing any help at all so it take like 3x more time to do the instance.
So they should do same as stabilizer fragment instance and turn all to solo so they would be forced to actually do it .Like this no more reward for useless players .

I have encountered none of this on US PS/PC servers. If anything, I usually get players who are trying to top the scorecard by going in as fast as possible. Some even somehow bypass the cutscenes and move during them.

What server are you playing on?

Haven't seen this on Xbox. I agree most ppls in the instances I am in are moving fast through mission with the main goal to be top of scoreboard. Not the fun to me, but at least 99% of the time everyone is contributing.

Pc I have 20 characters so i do it 20 times daily so basically 200 times so far this year the boss have about 120k hp and peoples queue with dps doing under 4-5k only damage they are doing is the pet they have already summon or the reflect damage from magic shield

It takes roughly 25-30 runs a week for me to run into a group that includes a person like this. Honestly, the people that abandon the bugged but still completely playable elite duo bother me more.

The Owlman says this game has no room for slackers. They are probably free to play players. You should report them.

They are just leaving to gather SC back to hopefully kill Superboy in the next attempt before he tries to do the bs time waster laser spin. Or at least I do that if it happens to bug out, this duo really made me have some bad views of Superboy... Even if he doesn't bug out, it's just painful having to watch him waste all that time with an attack that won't hit you and see him healing on top of that.

i see scoreboard chasers ( never bother with the mechanics ) all the time. i usually have no need to do anything other than the mechanics and water flowers while watching 3 others use their full arsenal of pets / henchmen / orbitals on the very difficult boss fight. i don't think i've topped 6k dmg yet this season. i have no alts, so my sample size is smaller than some of you, and i don't think people are just trying to speed it up since its very short to begin with.

Yeah, it's plainly obvious this event more than some of the others, because it will leave the bodies outside where most if not all others bring them in after the cutscene. Not sure why it's made this way, but it is.

Not that they'd be any more useful standing in a corner vs outside the room, but at least they'd get smacked around a bit.

As they say, what we think is not always what it really is... people are too quick to judge others ...scoreboard chasers, scoreboard chasers ... I am one of those who in an event uses everything that is possible at that moment... and no, not because I’m chasing big numbers... but because I do this damn event for 20 alts, every damn year, since I’m an avid base builder and even an extra 10 seconds at this stage is damn tiring...

It's funny to complain about other players using their pets, henchmen and orbitals, whatever the instance is. Why wouldn't they? All it takes is pressing a button. The cooldowns on those things is 1-3 min and they're literally useless, if you're not using them. So why aren't you using yours?

Many players run the seasonal several times a day. And even those who run it once a day are usually sick of it and want it done ASAP, because it's been the same instance every summer, for 10 years. You expect them to do what, exactly? Spend 5min pew-pew-ing each time, so that every lv20 in the group gets a big score?

Nobody's "chasing scores" in a seasonal. It's just a boring old run you have to grind daily, so you can get new rewards. Every second counts, when you have to run something 100s of times.

Yeah, same. As always, the only thing I'm 'chasing' on the scoreboard is that sub 1 min completion time. Any event run I get out of by only having to turn 1 set of cogs is a 'good' run.

Only exception is using my SC if I plan on going directly to something else. I hate re-building SC before jumping into a run. A second round of cogs is quicker.

This is NOT the same as that guy who sits just out of cutscene range in the duo, so that he can start his burn on Bizzaro or Superboy while you watch it. Them guys is annoying.

Why? If all you care about is faster completion time, than it makes sense for at least 1 player to skip the cutscenes. Of course, with Superboy - ideally - one player runs ahead, while the other waits a few seconds before talking to Manhunter, so that nobody has to watch the cutscene. That works about half the time I PUG this duo, at least in Elite (I think I only ran normal once or twice, for feats). It helps if people spawn into the instance a few seconds after me, at which point I'm already at the boss arena. But if someone activates MM too soon, I'd rather they start the fight, while I'm in the cutscene, so at least one of us is lowering the health bar and getting us closer to finishing.

The annoying guys are the ones who stay behind, let me activate the cutscene, then come and stand around waiting for me to start the fight. Don't worry about my score - it doesn't matter, this is not a DPS comp. And I'll probably be on top anyway.

Just because he finds it annoying doesn't mean he doesn't like it or think it's impractical :p

Depends on who is the one stuck in the cutscene, and if BOTH players feel they should be the one starting the burn, you can end up with a few seconds staring contest that just as wasteful as the cutscene itself. There's also the chance that even though Supes is getting started earlier, with half the burn(or less if it's a 'sub standard' player, he'll get to his heat vision stage vs if BOTH players burned him down quicker and headed it off.

I also find that on the Bizzaro fight, the trailing guy also seems to quite often drag the un-needed ads with him. I'd guess to get their 'numbers' up with a few more kills? Whatever the reason, it's not the clock being quicker.

In theory it’s like this... but in practice it turns out differently... people very often overestimate their DPS, and when they do this with a Superboy it’s forgivable... but when, despite the fact that they are 10 million behind in damage. ..they still try to repeat this trick with Bizzaro...it's getting annoying...

I'm not sure how Superboy's stages are activated/triggered, so perhaps there is a slightly bigger chance of that happening, if the fight is started by one player. But it happens so rarely anyway - in my experience - that I can't see that correlation, despite having ran it probably 100 times, between 6 toons. And even there is a statistical difference, having to see that 10s animation - say - twice in 10 instead of 11 runs, or whatever it may actually be, doesn't bother me since in most runs I save a little bit of time during that fight, if someone starts it early.

As for other points - a great solution to 15 second stare-downs is to simply not do it. You can only have a stare-down in a duo if both players have something to prove. If I see a player darting for the boss area, I'll hang back and wait a few seconds, but if they're not in a hurry - I just go and trigger it myself.

Dragging mobs into the boss fights has nothing to do with skipping cutscenes. I seriously doubt many players do it it in order to inflate their score, but maybe that's a US server thing. Most player I've seen do it, do it because they don't know the instance very well and grab aggro by accident - they're rarely the score-obsessed types and usually don't even seem to know about skipping cutscenes.
  19. Reinheld Devil's Advocate

I suppose anything is possible, but even on my few runner toons, I have never accidentally agro'd the 2 sets of mobs between 2nd and 3rd boss...like not once. And on a flyer, it's near impossible to do without trying...yet I see those failed clones and such in the last boss more and more.

And not saying it's because of the cutscene....just that the guys who intentionally hang back DO seem to grab them more often. Honestly doing it if you are the guy IN the cutscene might get you dead.....not sure how that works anymore.

And I wasn't saying 15 second stare down, but there could sometimes be a staredown as a quiet decision is made to go/no go IF the goal was letting the more burnier guy stay back.

Why wouldn't you just use everything you have to clear any and all instances? Are people only supposed to DPS to their full potential in instances you deem suitably relevant?
