I did the solo instance (the first thing you have to complete according to the quest), and right after the quest told me to go to Apokoliptic Gotham. I think i got it on the roof where Harley and Mr. Miracle is standing if i recall.

No, you get the normal two Augments after one or another of the solo missions. It's just as bug-ridden as some of the other stuff. Or, at least, that's how it was yesterday.

Nah. With corporations it’s always about “how much.”

“Are we hitting our quarterly earnings expectations?”

They’re making money…but is it enough money?

The real test will be when the shineys show up later in the DLC. Last DLC it was like 1500 marks for the Non-gear, feat related, items...which was already nuts. If things increase from there, it SEEMS like the idea would be to take advantage of mid to late DLC burnout and the new currency for sale. How many will say? 'F it...I'll just buy the marks for that 200 mark .25 point feat Chroma I'll never wear'. Another telling thing will be if it's all account bound vs tradable, which then also removes broker purchases from the list of options. A change in 2x marks week would be another indicator. Less of them, means more grind or more people who'd break out a CC to pay for the marks.

So right now...it could honestly be a innocent change that someone figured SOME users would benefit from....if those other factors are added in? Yeah...straight money grab...no doubt about it.

    That's the point, bottom line.

They made some huge mistakes, got plenty of feedback from the player base that they were mistakes, tried to recover, but it was too late, and the game, which had started out hugely popular, never recovered and went out of business, despite being Star Wars, the first-ever open world Star Wars game.

They went from selling a million copies down to 10,000 players, and then less.

It lasted from 2003 to 2011. STAR WARS GALAXIES was also owned by SOE, the company that created and originally ran DCUO, which eventually was sold off and became Daybreak Games, the company that still runs DCUO. John Smedley used to run both SWG and DCUO. SOE/Daybreak has been down the road of massively screwing up a massively multiplayer role-playing game before.

It's just that it was so many owners and sets of management ago that nobody left in management remembers because nobody is left from that era.

Yep, but at the same time the marks are super expensive and not tradeable, so it's not thaaaat bad. Still hurts the game though and shows they don't have much idea of how to keep us grinding the game...

Looking foward for the next developer update because they have a lot of explaining to do. From the episode not being all this new stuff that was promised to game plans becoming recycling content

Forum members who violate the TOS always love to claim that their comments are deleted for being critical.

    Nonsense.

Obviously, critical messages are not being deleted. All the comments in this thread are critical.

What gets deleted are comments that are sufficiently rude or obscene or insulting that they violate the TOS. Criticize the way you'd criticize your boss in the workplace, or in your family -- assuming you were raised well -- and you can criticize all you like here.

Don't act like a child and you won't be treated like one.

I see likes in the chat but no one has decided to address this very articulate and well thought out post^^^. Some have no problem addressing others as children, and it is applauded. How about we look at what is said in this very professional viewpoint, and follow up by providing some beyond desired and much needed feedback from the other side of the table?

So, Daybreak/D Ink/EG7 let me get this right...

Your last break down of the game showed player retention was down.

So, your answer was to put the currency up for sale, so that players can buy all progress in one hour and not have to log in again, or play any content? Serious question, do you think people play to progress, or play after they are fully geared?!? This has to be one of the silliest attempts at fixing a problem I have ever seen.

Further, for those of us that will continue to play, and not buy progression, how do you think that will help us if more players are either buying marks and logging out for the dlc, or buying marks and then playing older content or standing around/ dueling each other all day?!? The drop off for this new dlc will be faster than any other dlc.

I don't care that people can level up fast. Replay badges already did that. But, at least with replays we would be playing content with those people for about a week, now those Whales won't be playing unless they want renown and elite gear.

This is going to make retention dramatically worse, not better. But hey, at least you'll get that $200-$400 out of them before they take thier break, while making the game a ghost town for all of us who like to play and not pay to skip the gameplay.

The tourist players. The come into town, spend a boat load of money for a bit, and then leave while we are left to try to fill empty queues.

Don't be surprised if DI/EG7 starts selling the hard-to-get feats too, and also renown so whales can buy elite gear. DI/EG7 would make a killing, and they know it already, I think. This will allow new players to be at the top of the game in a day, if they want to spend the dollars. But once they do that, they will probably leave the game pretty soon after.

Once again, I guess I will be that weak OG who will not spend a dime more for my progression. I only use to buy time capsules anyway and I have stopped that a while back.

Very sad, but not leaving the game until they close the doors, which may be sooner than we all think or believe.

    Peace and DCUO Forever:(

If you want to do this:
Add sought after items to the marketplace, ie. Void Material, Comic Shaded Material, Black Smoke Aura, plasmic Aura etc. Sell these items on a per character basis. 2500 to 3500 marketplace cash, the latter for items with feats attached. Sure we can get SOME of the rare items from capsules, using the second chance vendor, but if you are going the route of throwing the whole kitchen sink at us, throw in style items. The styles, auras, and materials section of the marketplace are rarely updated. Making end game currency available to us by way of pay should open doors to getting other rare items as well. I would buy several extra comic shaded materials DIRECTLY from your marketplace to avoid the hassle of trading with other players, utilizing the broker which rarely has what I'm looking for, and opening capsules with FREE stored up stabilizers.

Forget the outrage of players who say you should not do this. The recent marketplace additions have already affected change and shown potential future outcomes to begin with, so why not take it a step further in a direction to suit the needs/wants of players willing to spend real currency on rare sought after items/styles such as the ones stated above. If the goal is to monetize the game further, then let's do that. I have a hundred bucks waiting for you to get some comic shaded materials (I have already collected two) and I have got five on it if you put "emblem" in there too. ;)

Tell us you want money without telling us you want money.

Putting currency in the MP is the one thing I was hoping they will never do. Considering they need to entice us to spend time online and play. There are good options to make it happen aswell. I will admit that I am not happy with it. When they said changes to things, I was hoping it would be good changes for everyone. Elite should live up to it's name, artifacts should be easier to level up as they are nearly mandatory for gameplay. More frequent bug fixes. QOL things.

I love this game alot, I think everyone know that, but I am also having hard time remaining positive for this. The changes to seasonals were annoying too, making things expensive, so you have to put money in on something that is meant to be fun and a break from DLCs. Now you don't need to run recent DLC's.

Played the new DLC. I like Harley, I like the lore, but I didn't enjoy myself. I don't pay for membership currently as part of the creator league, but I wouldn't have paid even if I wasn't. I hate saying this, but right now I feel that I log in into a online shop rather than a game and this makes me not want to play at all, work on DCUO projects etc. Even if I don't always talk publicly on things, there are stuff that upset me too. DCUO is a treasure not just because it's the DC Universe - but the community that holds it together.

Maybe, idk, drop working on DLCs for a bit, focus on fixing bugs and upgrading absolute systems. REMOVE Currency from the market place. Communicate to everyone here by making a Q&A thread or just a post about the state of things. That will go such a long way for all of us. Again, I love this game, but this is not a change I can stand behind, not anymore. :(

It doesn't seem current player base balanced.
Maybe Episode Elite Renoun 125 (5) pack for 1500 would have been the better risk for devs to do.
Since grinding the marks casually is the simple way but getting the elite renoun may not be simple.
P2W Elite, I'd say is the risk devs could have done.

It still takes doing elite even with the 500 marks for 25000MC.

Exactly. I hope they will acknowledge and address our concerns transparently. I had hope the PR Dept. would have already done this by in light of the negative response on here from yesterday by now. But there is continued radio silence. As I have said before, I work for a major marketing firm, and from our experience there is a very limited window of opportunity for a company to address negative PR. This window is rapidly closing at this point.

I rather pay you 100b to help me with all the duos feats, where after spending 1000$ in dcuo on replay badges and source marks and time capsules from MP to get stuffs to sell in broker to make 100b.
