Howdy Everyone This is the Thread for the Tank Only Artifact The Red Tornado Redistribution module

    [Defensive Recalculation]

When in a party with another player in the [Tank Role], apply [Redistribution] to them, transferring 20% of their incoming damage you.

While [Redistribution] is active, upon taking damage equal to a percentage of your max Health, pulse out a Redistribution Tornado dealing damage equal to 25% of your max Health to all nearby enemies and healing you and your [Redistribution] target for 1% of the damage done.
    Activation Percentage =(285% Restoration + 225% Dominance)

I love the idea of this artifact so much the issue is content almost never requires more then 1 tank not even the 8 man raid elite or + version its all solo tanked by design, hope this episode will match with this artifact and also future content since 8 man elite/+ content should always be designed and intented to focus on 2 tanks instead of the 5 DPS setup.

Sorry for the first negative post in this thread....but what is the global task of this artifact? Reduce tank survivability? promotion ignoring mechanics for DPS and the dubious aspect of battle tanking?

Yeah no offense to anyone who created this artifact but it needs to be reimagined ..99.8% of this game and I’m being generous requires no double tanks . That ship sailed in 2011

If you reimagine this to where when a tank pops a shield a pull or a break out … this can occur that would be much more useful

Yeah it would better if The Healing went to at Least 20% cause if not this art is useless in Elite and Elite Plus
  6. GhostsAndMagic Dedicated Player

Seems like too niche of an artifact, almost all the tanks I know don't like running with other tanks.

One issue is that support-role-mains have issues getting into content if their role isnt required (endgame, so Elite/Elite+).
The way I see it, this artifact is meant for Tanks that cant or dont want to dps, but would still like to help by making the main tanks job easier and also providing some dmg. It could be paired with a BTank setup, although its pretty much just Dps role with a twist.

The way I see it, its an artifact for those that dont want to be entirely useless if their role is already taken, or when content is too hard for one tank, but a 2nd wouldnt make a difference (Just one strong boss for example, where sharing aggro doesnt help).

This has a very promising potential if used in a Rage-Fire tank combo. Rage tank is main Tank and eats as much dmg as he can. Fire Tank uses this artifact and deals 20% of all incoming dmg on main tank. This could deal ~250k dmg per activation with current stats. It all comes down to its uptime however, which is something we dont know yet unfortuantly.

The only thing I'm confused about is the activation percentage. Its stated that it activates when X% of your health is depleted, but also 285% Restoration + 225% Dominance.

The way I understand it, if my Tank has the stats 525000 health, 82320 Resto and 21600 Dom, would the equation be:
2,85*82320+2,25*21600 = damage taken to health to trigger the effect and then dealing 0,25*525000 as damage?
What I'm on about is that the activation description seems a bit unclear whether it activates based on combined stats as damage taken or pure damage taken to health.

If so, this wording may cause less confusion in understanding on how it activates:
"While [Redistribution] is active, upon taking damage to your Health equal to a percentage of your combined Dominance and Restoration stats, pulse out a Redistribution Tornado dealing damage equal to 25% of your max Health to all nearby enemies and healing you and your [Redistribution] target for 1% of the damage done."

Also - because its clear there will hardly be a more annoying artifact to test, does this artifact currently only take damage into account that came from the Redistribution, or is self damage also taken into account, such as self harm by not evading mechanics on purpose or using Lernaea's self damage at max stacks?

This is heavily dependent on uptime, which we dont know yet. Also, Healers can comfortably heal any content solo and this Artifact makes it slightly easier due to less damage taken on a single player, giving the healer slightly more time to react.

There's only 2 ways to really achieve this, and both are tied to raid content, specifically e/e+:

    1. Have multiple bosses (3 or more) in same fight and/or lots of adds, or adds with tricky mechanics (the issue with adds is that in this case dps/controllers can just use lasso of truth).

    2. Tank swap mechanics, like Neron's Underworld Rebuke mechanic from Neron's Underworld raid or One Who Laugh's Callous Anger mechanic from Source Wall (Elite Plus).

Without either/both of these this artifact will be highly situational, and is very unlikely to ever be used in event/normal content and most alerts (regardless of difficulty).

The descriptions of the artifact are at the level of my knowledge of English (in the sense that the description is not very clear...), so I understood the interaction a little wrong, I apologize for this...... in the form as you described it is of course a little better ( for interaction you need a tank stance... I wonder how the interaction will behave if there are several “tanks” with this artifact in the group...)... but when layering damage from the artifact and the situation... the survivability of such a "tank" will probably be worse than if he were just using a DPS artifact... and of course in a situation where there is a reflect mechanic ,due to the uncontrollable nature of the secondary effect... this could lead to the instant death of this “tank”...

Well, the question is how it will interact with such artifacts as Lernaea's...

This artifact seems to have potential but on paper as it stands it seems to be better functioning for a dps or battle troll than a tank art. As a tank especially as fire, why would I want to take MORE damage lol. As an unlikely dps artifact it’s cool, but if it’s (meant) to be a tank artifact just make it trigger a shield after x percent of your health is lost. Alternatively, you could make it so the next x amount of attacks taken is dealt to nearby enemies instead. Currently this is an artifact that you can’t even control how much damage you’ll be taking because you don’t know who will even run it & it’s even worse if you’re in the ideal two tank situation but they don’t even obey mechanics. You’ll be essentially getting punished twice if the other tank is sloppy.

I'll need more coffee before I write a full response to y'all you might get it today or you might get it on monday.

Overall note: Yes I do understand that it is niche, but the intent is to offer some extra power to players who want to off-tank and still provide value to the team or lower the overall pressure in a structured raid if the main-tank is simply getting battered and needs support.

So what happens in a groups where there are multiple of these artifacts?

Does the Tank getting damaged still take 80%? or is it lowered by 20% each time?

If the Former do each of the artifact users take the 20% damage(creating more damage than was originally dealt) or just 1 of them (what factor decides who gets damaged)

If the Later, what occurs when 5+ of these artifacts are in play, would the Tank getting damaged take no damage?

Sorry for the brutal response but i feel i need to be honest, this artifact will do nothing but gather dust, tho ONLY way an "off-tank" artifact would even be considered in this game and actually similarly in alot of other mmos eso for example the "off tank" wears group damage buffing gear, were to be if it buffed damage and considerably, otherwise groups are not intrested.

Mechanics cant morally be designed from a survival aspec with this artifact in mind so groups will fully expect survivability to come from the individual avoiding mechs as currently played out.

No group would lower damage by having an additional tank just to mitigate some group damage, same philosophy as per distuel refractor etc, its only used in rare occasions to buff troll HP to increase DPS from cog etc.

Change it to a substantial group DPS increase (enough to warrant dropping a dps) and it will make people want the extra tank for add pulls and boss splits etc, otherwise it will never be used im afraid.

People as usual have misread the action. I play Yu-Gi-Oh so understanding text is vital to properly utilizing cards. It says"with another player in the tank role" not "when there's another tank". This artifact is used for any role as long as there's a tank. Could a dev possibly chime in to validate this and also can you post the stats included? Thanks and can't wait to use this as a healer
  16. Ryan_Ragenolds Active Player

It also says it is a "Tank Only Artifact"

Forgot to mention I suck at Yu-Gi-Oh. Well unless the devs do what my post suggests and make it usable by other classes or possibly just healer then this art is useless.

Hope y’all buff this art accordingly if you want people to spend 200 dollars on another artifact that’s not needed.

"Forgot to mention I suck at Yu-Gi-Oh." Thanks for that, you just gave me my first actual LOL of the day. Thanks again kind Sir, much appreciated.
