This is not unique to this boss or even this alert. Honestly I kinda wish these barrels weren’t in endgame alerts, they do more harm than good there really.
I’m trying to get one of the most defective instances I’ve ever seen fixed and you claiming everything is fine and going off on a bizarre tangent about something completely unrelated is. Not. Helping.
First of all, delighted the alert is finally getting some attention, however the Nightwing issue seems to have persisted despite the hotfix. It might be because we actually did talk to him before doing a runner. That could have bypassed the safeguards you put in, going on the exact wording of the patch notes. He probably gets caught up on fighting adds coming out of the spawners. Just have him tethered to us and teleport if he falls behind. I think that’s what most iconics do in these situations.
The specialists are hitting for 7s and 20s too. You need to do a damage pass on the yellow lantern adds. I’m sure you’ll ignore this too though.
Just a mild commentary. This Alert seems to only barely be peripherally connected to the Metal storyline. At the completion of the solo, we defeated the Red Death and encountered the Batman Who Laughs. Next in the proper story order we encounter the open world Gotham, which is all metalized (same as what we saw in Central City). It has a very "sidequest" feel to fix alarms in the Batcave, beat up the ARC again, stop Bane, and then go to Oa to collect Power Battery Metal for Batman to study... when Batman is already missing AND we have a whole Gotham surrounding us filled with metalized people who are actually infected with the real metal being used, not some random space metal that we're just studying for potential similarities. You know what's similar to the Metal on the people in Gotham? The metal on the people in Gotham. It's freaking everywhere and doesn't require traveling across the galaxy. The Alert would have been better if the Bane fight had been Devastator, or the Sinestro fight had been Dawnbreaker. Functionally the same, but actually making the Alert feel like it's something to do with the Metal story.
Can you allow skipping of the cutscenes? Not sure how you are supposed to beat the batcave portion in 7 minutes. We went in there with 4 hard hitting dps and best can do is 7:55. The cutscenes should stop the clock. We tried eveey time saving trick we can think of.
Particularly annoying, today I spawned in to a in-process Alert, as a Healer, while they were at Bane. Trying to run through all that stuff after it has already been spawned and staggered all throughout the halls meant guaranteed death. It's not like the first attempt where you're basically just running past the spawners and then allowing enemies to spawn behind you; once they are out, you are boned. Those enemies don't de-spawn just because you beat ARC. Honestly, I have no idea why people seem so darned determined to run past that part. Half the time those same enemies catch enough aggro on the team that they just end up added in the turrent room with Robin anyways. Just fix Nightwing so that the Alert has to be played as intended. If it was intended that we would skip that hallway, then dad gum, just take it out. Otherwise, the game should be played the way it was meant to be played.
They’re determined to run past everything because some genius decided to add an absurdly tight speed feat. Fun fact, as soon as you trigger the introductory cutscene for Etrigan in JLD, any adds still around in the previous rooms despawn. I didn’t personally like the difficulty of the JLD alert, but the care and attention that went into every aspect of that instance was just amazing. This alert on the other hand... zero new npcs and yet somehow nearly every individual element is malfunctioning to some extent. It’s embarrassing and I despise having to play it constantly for stupidly rare OP collections.
Why are the numerous bugs and design flaws in this alert being completely ignored? Why is nothing being done? Why do you, the developers think it’s okay to leave your product in this state?
