    For the "Timber" feat where you are supposed to avoid being hit by the Crown of Thorns Golem, does it matter if the Golem falls on a pet? I've seen my pets get hit several times by that attack. It is a problem if you are using a power like Holographic Decoy that is drawing the Golem's aggro.

    For the rooms where you just have to clear Acolytes, can we get a bullet saying "Defeat the Acolytes"? Sometimes it is a bit confusing if a particular room is going to be a puzzle room or a "clear the mobs" room. I've seen people not clearing mobs in certain situations and waiting for the puzzle mechanics to happen.

    I can't say I'm noticing any difference in the Faceless One's damage output or threat level. He seems to be about as dangerous as he was earlier in the week. What kind of differences should I be noticing?

    I've never seen the Faceless One use his encasement attack in the normal version of the alert. I've only seen that in the Event version. Should that be showing up in the normal version?

    I feel like the "Rotating Hazards" room could use some tweaking. No group I've run with has been able to get the mechanics down correctly. Most teams I've been on don't even bother with the rotation mechanic and just prefer to heal through the annoyances/hazards.

    Here are some suggestions:
    1. Make the Living Statues appear faster. In the current version, it usually takes 10 seconds from the defeat of one Living Giant for another one to appear.

    2. Put a coutdown counter cog above the two main hazards that are firing. That will help with the timing aspect. "Timer is almost up! Time to rotate!"

    3. I'm still not quite sure how the Electric Eels are supposed to work. Sometimes you get zapped within a few seconds of running past one. Sometimes there is a lot of downtime.

    Question
    I've seen references to Living Statues being weakened in the acidic chum. Is that supposed to be the red Rage-like stuff?

    No. It does not matter. It's looking for players only with the tag. It does not look for NPCs.

    He should be casting a bunch of spells from other schools. Coralmancy, War Magic (mentalism), Aquamancy, Thorn Magic. If he's not then something didn't make the build. Damage values are the same as on the specialists that cast similar spells but he has higher stats in general for being a boss so they should be more potent. This is baseline stuff. His fight mechanics will be changing for the weekend hopefully.

    Still didn't see any indicator for which mouth to place the ball in to correctly pass the challenge. Is it a auditory que that I just didn't listen to correctly?

    we wiped during the faceless one fight and after the fight ended I still have the effect of one of the sigils active and it wouldn't disappear.

    Also probably just a cutscene glitch as we only ended up fighting 1 boss but it did show 2 in the cutsene :p

    Question

    For the timber falls feat we were all range and definitely no player got hit by this fall but the feat didn't register. We did have an earth tank using Brick, is Brick coded as a player for that feat and if any pets get landed on it nulls the feat as well?

    Whatever is causing the camera glitch is possibly making the Timber feat fail. The great joy of not being able to repro this on my server has happened. I've spent all day troubleshooting it and still no real leads. After our own test server bounced, things were working automagically. I've added a couple things to prevent background processes running until they are needed so that may help with any build up of region latency/lag. Such lag seems likely to be causing the issues BUT the tools to review such things show no memory issues, even in regions that we're currently standing in showing said issues.

    Did any other feats complete in that run? Communication between our encounters, something called an Arbiter, is clearly messing up for some reason and the Feats are part of that communication process. If that's the reason then no other feats would likely complete.

    The npc is checking for players with the tag. I will make sure the flag only gets applied to players (it's applied to anyone but the checker only checks players) so it'll be a double player only situation.

    It's visual. To see how it looks you can run the Event. It's up all the time. You'll see that it's inside the mouth and if you're not facing the right mouth then you won't see it. I can extend the time to be slightly more forgiving but the gist is people need to watch all 3 shark mouths if they want that hint.

    Yes we did complete numerous other feats during the run. We tried to get the Magi feat and the Timber falls feat on 1st boss and were unsuccessful on both but the other feats on final boss and the challenges seem to be working just fine for the ones we could do. I haven't tried the Aries challenges yet or the one with the Blob.

    OK. The actual breaking of the arbiter messaging seems to happen right then and there at the Thorn Golem so it still is possibly related. I could complete the feat locally but will look at it again.

    Fun fact - I did implement it with a bug so that Timber feat happens immediately when the fight starts. So yeah, since you guys aren't seeing that then the arbiter has gone on strike.

    Did the Faceless One receive a massive defense buff? Even with a one role penalty (-12% bonus), my tray abilities and pets were only doing half the damage I was expecting them too. We had 2 dps, 1 controller, and 1 healer in the group. The Controller was keeping all 3 debuffs active on the Faceless One and all three artifacts had been disabled at that point.

    I can upload some comparison videos if that would be helpful.

    A video would be potentially handy. His defense and damage are increased while he has the artifacts active now. Each artifact that gets taken down will remove one tier of defense and damage increase he has. There are different FX on him for each tier (a sorcery bubble). By time the last one is removed he should be back to normal stats for the duration of the remainder of the fight. The video may show what FX he has on that I'd recognize.

    If you don't notice any change in his received damage between each artifact going down then something is screwy.

    He also won't do his other tricks until/unless the artifacts are gone - so no Curse of the Dead King or options to summon Guardians so those Sigils won't be active to confuse things. If all artifacts are gone, he'll do those things. There is a scaling amount of adds he'll summon now towards the end based on how many artifacts are in play. If none are left he'll summon more, if a 1-2 are left in play he'll summon more than if all 3 were in play, etc.

    Those are the big changes for the fight currently. Please hammer on it and let me know results. I'll look at the Defense thing in a bit later today.

    Here is the entire Faceless one Fight:


    The group starts off with a 3 dps/1 controller format. The initial goal was to try doing the "Don't do any artifact objectives" feat. I start off doing the expected damage and my damage output was decreased significantly once the artifacts kicked in.

    How is anyone supposed to do this feat now?

    We gave up on the idea of trying not to do the artifacts around the 3 minute mark. There was simply no way to dps him down with that kind of health regen and defense boost.

    Our 3rd dps switched to healer around the 3:56 mark. All three artifacts were down by the 4:35 mark, but the boss still continued to have buffed Defense until the end of the fight.

    It just makes for a very long slog of a fight.

    The Crown of Thorns Golem fight seems significantly easier today. We got the Timber feat without even trying for it.


    Here is a video of the entire fight. Did anything change on the Golem fight?
