Episode 26 still not available on Steam

Why is EP26 still not available for purchase on Steam? Is there a reasonable explanation for a delay of this magnitude?

We were told it would be resolved with the GU, it wasn't. We were told that with the other unrelated technical resolved it would be fixed, and it still isn't.

I realise that we represent an extremely small part of your customer base. As a result we tend to be marginalized, and issues relating to us receive a low priority. However, this recent level of customer service is truely dissapointing. We never even got a, "we appologize for the inconvenience" attached to the "we're working on it."

Customer service rating for this issue : 3/10

Agreed, it should be a purchasing option.

Got friends still waiting for this to be fixed and already feeling fed up with the game due to it.

I mean we were given open episodes for most of August to bring new players and old ones to end game, but then they don't seem too interested in making the most recent DLC available for purchase for a part of their playerbase.
I mean, 1 day, 2 days, even 1 week thats fine. Over one month im sorry but thats disrespectful to say the least.
And like Entrust said people don't even get an "we appologize for the inconvenience".

The payment options to buy DLC's for this game have always been minimal (except in Europe when we had Prosieben, they actually had like 7 payment methods, you know, more options makes it easier for your costumers to give you their money), and the best cc alternative at present was Steam, and this is the treatment the one real alternative gets.

Well, I checked this morning, and it's still not available.

    34 days (since EP26's release) & counting.

    We feel loved.........

It's both. Steam changed some things without notice, and we needed to make some changes to adjust. We are working through what we expect to be the last of the issues with them now. That said, I do not have an estimated time yet. We will get the episode published as soon as possible.

Edit: Also, the Episode is available through the www.dcuniverseonline.com webstore, even for Steam players.

Just to try and help people out, I do have the steam version of the game on PC, but I also have a subscription so I really can't test this to be sure. but can't you buy the DLC through the marketplace instead of buying it through Steam's DLC page. and then use the steam wallet to complete the cash purchase seeing as how the steam version only has the the steam wallet as the only payment option.
  11. Entrust Committed Player

It does not appear that Steam users can use the funds in their Steam wallet to purchase the episode from the webstore or in game.

Is this correct, or am I not seeing the option?

If Steam is not listed as a payment option, like it is when we purchase DBC from the in game marketplace, then the episode is NOT available for purchase to Steam players, period.

If we were willing, or able, to use alternate methods to purchase the episode we wouldn't have spent the last month asking for this issue to be resolved, or for Steam to be added as a method of payment for episodes in the in game marketplace.

DBG has yet to apologize for this inconvenience, and the continual suggestion to use alternate methods is at best disrespectful, at worst insulting. (Once or twice is an FYI, every time implies stupdity/ignorance).

I can't help but imagine how this would have been handled differently if the issue happened with PSN or XBox Live. Probably resolved in hours/days instead of weeks/months.

I'm glad the issue will soon be resolved. However, I am greatly disappointed in how this was handled from a customer service & communication standpoint.

    Nope.

We can only use the Steam wallet to purchase DBC.

Credit Card is the only payment method offered in the in game marketplace for purchasing episodes.

We have asked that Steam be included as a payment method. We have received no respoce.

There is another game that has pretty much the same experience when it comes to buying content. and that's Lord of the Rings Online, which is also available through steam. the only problem with that game is, when you launch it from steam there is in fact no other payment options but steam, they don't even give you the CC options. but I will agree that if this was in fact another platform that things would have been done a lot sooner. I mean just imagine the outrage if PC actually got something before the PSN/XB1 players did. Oh... wait we do get something before PSN and XB1 players do, we get to see the new content on the test server
  14. Entrust Committed Player

Can Steam be added to the methods of payment in the in game marketplace?

It's an option to purchase DBC, so why not episodes too?

This would fix Steam player's current issue, and only requires work to be done by your in-house developers.

Yea i have a friend who has this same issue. He would like to sub but cant and can only purchase episodes thru steam because of where he lives. Idky it has to be so hard to give a company your money. Its strange to say the least. But maybe there are some details idk about.

Ended up buying legendary using steam wallet. I hope this will be resolved until my legendary expires.
  17. Ekart Committed Player

I've tried to do that, and It was always asking me for CC data when on the steam part. I up my wallet with paysafe cards so no other thata is there.

While I think it sucks that they don't have the options a lot of people want in there I kinda understand the why as well, at least in the US scams run rampant every day. Paypal is a joke, mostly because all it takes is someone to raise any type of complaint whether it is real or fiction and they will reverse charges, or suspend funds pending investigations which can take as long as several months. This is never fair to the person providing the service or product and is a practice that should be done away with, but as it still exists it is a reason more and more businesses are choosing to not accept paypal and services like that.

There are many prepaid cards all over the world though and really seem to be the way that most places are going to be go. Most anyone in the US can attest that even now more and more security is going in place over scams. That said, all one needs do is google prepaid debit cards followed by your country of origin, and presto instant access with none of the complaints.

Not sure if any of the above is the reason that payments are being throttled, but if steam is making it harder it might be a safe conclusion.

Look, I have a prepaid card but it takes 3 working days that money is on there. With Steam it takes me 10 minutes to up my Steam Wallet (going to the store to buy a Paysafe card included). So if I have to choose, I choose the option that saves me time and the seller gets the money. And DCUO is the only game I play where there's always a problem with something.

What also ticks me off is, that I live in a central European country, a member of the EU and my default currency is the dollar. Coversion rates FTW. That's another reason I don't buy stuff directly on the page.

Hey I am not saying it's easy, or for that matter even trying to argue, all I am really saying is that may be a possible reason behind some of the payment option decisions. In the US I prefer to use my prepaid over my bank card, I am fortunate to be able to go to the bank and load it for free.

I was more stating the reasons for paypal from my experience, I had one customer try to get over on me in paypal for 2300 dollars, in the end I got paid, but it was a sour experience and I don't accept it anymore. Yeah unfortunately there are so many scammers out there today that all the options I used to love are becoming harder and harder to use,
As for steam and episodes, couldn't even guess the issues.
