EOG is getting changed

There is nothing wrong with customers providing feed back to a company about their product / services, in fact, companies should welcome both the positive and the negative feed back. Otherwise, how will a company know what their customers like, don't like, or really infuriates them? Taking into account customer feedback, improvements can be made to the product / service. It is a company's wise task to understand the what & whys a customer feels a certain way and then take action.

This is to achieve: A) retention of current customer base
B) improve sales from current customer base
C) expand customer base by attracting new customers

Examples of companies that have no interest in attempting to please let alone understand their customer's feelings about their product / services would be the cable companies. In most markets, they were the only company serving an area. Their competition was previously lack luster and they operated in such a manner that soured their customers against them. Now that viable alternatives to cable are present in the form of streaming services, these cable companies are paying for their hubris.

Months and months of threads complaining that EOG was broken, and the Devs saying they'd deal with it once they'd figured out what to do. And when they finally fix it, people are, somehow, surprised that it was adjusted?

You are clearly not understanding the point. The point isn't about if we're entitled to bonus weeks, that has literally nothing to do with it. The point is the devs are aware that everyone levels arts during x2 arts week. They 100% are aware of that.

They specifically waited until AFTER that week to nerf an artifact to make extra money from people who now need to replace that artifact. Wow, what a concept.

Presumably - the sudden increase in subscription cancelations following the announcement of changes made to the product would be a strong hint.

You are aware that we have had MULTIPLE bonus XP weeks since Eye of Gemini was released in 2018? I'm going to need everyone to stop acting like last week was the only week to level an almost 5 year old artifact. I would really like to see some shred of proof that a sizable number of players leveled this artifact to 200 last week. Please.

A few new people might have gotten it, really? Look at this thread and the number of pages already. Tons of people got it during x2 arts. Everyone shouts for eog players in LFG, why in the world would they not level it if they didn't have it?

Finally, you address the shadiness of what they're doing by saying you don't think they there rubbing there hands together hoping they would make money off the suckers that level eog. Man, you really, really don't want to admit that this is shady by the devs. Excuse after excuse for you. You seem like one of those people that would rather die before admit the devs did something wrong smh.

True, which is why the PR dept needs to get out in front of this to reassure customers (the players). A statement about why this was done, how it will benefit you (not just the game but the customer personally), and what factors were involved in the decision making process that led to the actions being taken.

This is the time right now for official communication(s) to be made on behalf of the Company to their customers (the players), as a whole. As I have mentioned before, I do not own this artifact ( AND before anyone smartly chimes in that we do not own anything in this game) I do not have in my procession this affected artifact but I do use artifacts so such actions taken against this one might be taken against other artifacts which could impact me. It needs to be addressed in official communications.

I was more referring to the fact that people were on about it in the game a lot around the same time as it was talked about in the forums. Especially when 2x hit and people were talking about what they were feeding EOG into as it was getting nerfed....I was only on about maybe 3 hours that WEEK and I saw them. But I suppose maybe those were the only 3 hours it was talked about.

There's a simple fix for the issue. Once the changes are in...have another 2x week to allow everyone to feed it to something else. Sure people that JUST jammed a few extra cats and seals take a hit, but heck...throw an unstable SOC in with the week to take the edge off that even.

You are aware that people take breaks from the game, right? Or do you believe people play this game every week like you? I've been on this game since 2013 I believe, yet I have only been around for 2 double arts weeks ever, that includes the most recent one.

I know a decent amount of people that took several years off and came back to the game over the last year. I know this because I used to play the very first survival modes with them a lot. How many arts do you think they have leveled up in a year?

Also, my league has helped a lot of new players over the last year. They're people with less than 300 skill points. How many of them do you think had eog before double arts? Smh, it's not that hard to grasp that alot of people needed to max eog still.

I'm on the Forums everyday and I never visit the Test section. How are players in game who do not follow the Forum or even know if its existence going to be informed of such matters which will ultimately affect them?

I am a good example. I stated playing DCUO in 2014. I did not know about the existence of this Forum until 2021 when a league mate was telling us about the impending changes he read about on the Forum being considered at the time to the game. He explained how to find the Forum, how to set up an account, and how I should provide feed back so my voice could be heard..... that was a wasted effort.

An email blast would have been better featuring a detailed notice announcing this was happening, why it was happening, and how it will affect you the player.

I think we all know - from examples on this forum alone - that no amount of reassurances and explanations will placate angry gamers.

So....You've set up this perfect storm of all these people who have not been around for 5 years...at least gone enough that they haven't had a chance to level EOG (one of THE most popular artis for a few years now) AND they all came back a few weeks ago AND were picking that week to decide on EOG....AND were not looking at any chats or asking almost anyone about which artis they should level (they were gone for 5 years after all) or looking at youtube where there were also some vids mentioning it AND spent their way to 200 vs using any amount of saved XP.

Is there that guy? Sure. I'd guess a few people fit that bill.....a few. But honestly, from reading your posts, it seems like you believe 90% of the players just decided to level EOG. If there were that few people using and abusing it, we wouldn't be getting the change in the first place.

And hey, I'm not defending DI on the lack of communication or actively blocking it. Seems like it would have been easy enough to leave the EOG threads up vs taking them down....for those that read the forums at least. But it was still a pretty loud topic even with them killing threads on it. I guess just not loud enough for some.

Having another x2 arts week won't really fix the problem though, would it? Yes, the cats and seals are one of the problems.

I don't know what an unstable SOC is, nor do I know what happens when you feed a 200 art into an art at 0. I highly doubt it will bring it anywhere near 200 though.

If you were to feed a 200 art into a level 0 art right now, it will only bring it up to level 100

There's a forum, Facebook, Twitter, homepage and various player communities that all redirect this information to the thread in the testing section. Not everyone has an email, specifically console players, associated with their account. An email would miss the majority of the community.

Ehhh I thought it works a little differently than that. The XP is halved, so if you have a 200 art, you have 1,678,722 XP, divided by 2 = 839,361, so it'd be 160 now (or somewhere between 160 and 180).

Yes I'm on a break right now since February. Still got 3 rank 200 EoGs sitting in my banks collecting dust.

Someone comes back after 5 years and the first artifact they level is EOG? Not trans or strat? Or a support artifact? Baloney.
