Earth's Crystal is Overpowered

I do believe Crystal is OP after I have finally tested her out at Bludhaven out of "near" necessity. The bullet points below hopefully illustrate why.

• I was able to handle taking out the Chemical Vats on my own and nearly solo'd Chemoid at Bludhaven with Crystal. Note: This was after my team could no longer handle the mission and "ingenuity" was not cutting it anymore (too many adds and seemingly inexperienced teammates).

• Maybe players are only accounting for large groups and high end content when they say Crystal is not OP. Low content is still relevant content for many players. Having Crystal hit as hard as she does in low content does not help the issues that arise from being OP.

• Even if the frequency of her attacks were reduced and she gained no aggro, her damage may still need to be lowered but maybe not as severely.

Even if this only applies to lower content it still does not change Crystal's "inappropriate" strength in her current form. I encourage others to use Crystal in lower content at level, to see for yourselves. I recommend starting with Bludhaven.

Bottom Line: If this is already being looked into then great. However, enough of what I have read suggest this issue has already been solved. Developers, please check this and make Crystal's strength balanced with the rest of the powers for "all" content.

I wrote this under the assumption that the reader is "aware" of Crystal's "OP issue".

The dps role in general is OP....you can one shot anything as an Ice, Atomic, etc... The problem is the whole role...

Crystal is not any stronger then the other AMs at low level. You can just use it earlier then the others because all you need is Crystal and you have the AM. You dont need 4 other powers to use it like a couple other powers.

Anecdotal evidence tells more about the experience than it does the damage being dealt. To claim that something is overpowered, it needs a baseline test. Usually, that's what sparring targets are for (exception: DC-920). If you can't show it against a sparring target, then something in the environment might be to blame (hypothetical example: all pets doing extreme damage to object targets).

Pet powers are OP at the moment and have been so for a while. Earth is the power that is currently unmatched. However Crystal is not the only factor.

I assume that when the mid-range update for pet powers and weapons comes the powers will be fixed. Until then these 2 powers ( Earth and Sorcery ) will be OP compared to the rest.
What makes Crystal so strong is the fact that she does not miss her targets ( unlike Fury from Sorcery ). What you see in lower content is probably a result of the horrible job the devs did when they implemented GU 47.

Even when Earth gets UP for mid-ranged, I'd doubt that she'll be nerfed too much. Crystal makes 50% of your damage while Weapons and powers make the other 50%.

It's really like as if Crystal ignores the CR system, as she does much more damage than the player.
(Unless the player is using something like Smoke Bomb or Flip slash)

If you use the right loadout, You and crystal can practically solo duo's up to t6. She does mean dps in spark of ion.

I don't think she is broken though. The combination of Crystal-Reinforce-1H is what leads to broken dmg. Each one individually is fine.

Crystal hits hard within many environs, so I hope it's the pet. I would appreciate it if this problem could get resolved before DCUO's debut on the Xbox One.

What you are seeing is not a bug but rather how the AM naturally works. It's instant damage with no set up time and with One Handed the use of a melee weapon and melee weapon damage. Run Bludhaven as Ice/Atomic/Gadgets/Mental at their maximum potential and you will see similar results. In raids and trash mobs in alerts/solos/duos, Earth shines since it obliterates adds due to the instant damage registration. In fact even before GU47 buffs, the Crystal AM was the best source of damage for users in solos and duos and alerts since it's always worked like this. It wasn't till the updates, that they started performing better in raids. On bosses is where it starts evening out with other powers and it can actually lose to other powers. If you need parse data (Tunso tests) to back up my statements, I can happily provide this with extensive data.

Way too much time and effort has been wasted on this game worrying about who's number one on the leader board. All DPS powers are OP. Nerf them all.

Crystal is op the second you get her.

If this is true then there is a problem with the AM itself. In other words: Fixing the OP issue and balancing powers would become so close to impossible that I would need to depend on the principle, that nothing is impossible, to keep "hope alive".

Bottom Line: Not only it is intended that high end CR players can face roll content but now low end players can as well? If they need need to re-evaluate the mechanic then I believe they should do it.

Any low end player that knows how to use an AM can faceroll everything.

Is this secretly a thread about Scoreboards? I don't see the concern with dps powers being too strong if that isn't the case. (Being about scoreboards that is)
If you're Earth, then you're (or should be) happy about the damage. It does what you want it to do. It melts your cares away.
If you're Nature or Electricity then I could see how you could feel like certain powers are OP and need to be looked at. In reality the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle. Bring the "OP's" down a hair, bring up the low tiers a moderate amount.
Honestly, I don't understand why you (anyone) would complain because the power THEY use is TOO GOOD!? I ain't mad at ya, everyone is entitled to their opinions and yours is valid and this is the place for them. I just don't get it.

I still don't understand why its ALWAYS 'OMG X is OP nerf, nerf nerf." I have never once seen "OMG X beat my *** so hard I had to part my cheeks to see the world please BUFF, BUFF, BUFF my power."

Sorcery can easily do the same as or even more damage than earth when grand summoning is correctly used. So whilst Crystal is a lot better than Fury, if you play your cards right you can still get ahead on the scoreboard. Of course the scoreboard doesn't mean much, but it's linked to the 'OP' damage of earth because of the instant damage it does, specifically on adds.

You have to be pretty bad with Earth for that to happen. You can't play your cards right when the Earth guy will hit 70-90k with each 1H combo.
That SC brings them closer, but it is not something you can rely on for dmg. You might be able to use it 4 times if you go in fully charged and even then unless you know how to farm dmg ( and be slightly unhelpful during bossfights ) you will not be able to outdps the constant output that Earth offers.
It is not so much about instant dmg, it about constant dmg and fury is pretty slow fellow when it comes to targeting.

Power set pets are all OP, plain and simple. Makes for some lazy a$$ Dps.....that's for sure.

- Not Alerts within the campaign.

- Not Duos, Raids and Alerts in low end CR

The above is "true" when at level with a "balanced" power and "role".
