DLC8 power- Celestrial Confirmed- Holy & Dark powers

Hey there, I know i'll most likely won't change your mind, but the other tree is actually called Cursed not unholy. Might seem like a small difference, but it's not. There are many heroes who are cursed,or have powers similar to what we saw. Deadman, spectre, Raven, Etrigan arejust a few that come to mind. Unholy would definitely not fit any hero, since it's essentially the opposite of holy and it means that is bad/evil. Cursed just means that the person is under a curse ora spell, but not necessarily evil .

Just in case you hadn't thought of that of course maybe you just don't like dark looking powers for your hero and that's totally fine too, but if you were worried from a thematic RP point of vew, i don't think it's much of a problem.

Not a problem, I was very sleep deprived when I wrote it, not to mention my phone replaced a word with one that doesn't make sense ("during" was supposed to be "firing").

I was saying that Spytle might not fire someone over this, but his bosses aren't happy. He has a timeline that he is allowed to do stuff on, otherwise he'd just leak everything coming out this year to entice us into a frenzy of "OMG I CAN'T WAIT". If he were to stray from that timeline from a mistake that, when mentioned, seemed irritatingly avoidable, then someone would have to pay the price. So while Jens, close as he is to the crew, might not fire someone... his boss might go over his head and fire those responsible with the amount of complain you'd expect from a boss that doesn't know the workers as well.

You're the number one user on this forum who wants more magic crap, and then you turn your nose up at another magic power set?

Same, i'd award them if i knew who they were. This is my DREAM power-set, literally, i had a dream about this a few months back.

Looks very cool, but hope it doesn't play like HL. That's the only powerset I can't get into. Would probably have to go full healer with it. We'll see.

I'm not turning my nose. As I said before, if the Blessed tree is pretty epic and we can fully spec into just that, I'll probably pick up the new power for my hero.

But, I honestly wanted a full powerset of holy (for heroes).

im just glad the content isnt centered around batman again, the villains dont need another random one shot mechanic raid.

not to mention the game is ruled by tech mentored characters. magic really has gotten the short end of the stick so this should be a welcome change, i just hope the villains dont have to work with the heroes again, i didnt like saving batman, or superman, but taking over themyiscria was pretty ideal. i am gona be overall happy with this DLC but if the villains end up having to defeat trigon theres gona be an issue.

If you are familiar with Dungeons and Dragons then you know there is arcane magic (sorcery) and divine magic (characters who get their powers from their deity (holy/unholy magic) and not from arcane study)

I don't think it's meant to be viewed as the hero tree and the villain tree. It's not holy and unholy. It's blessed and cursed. That doesn't mean good and evil. That doesn't mean the power for the cursed tree is coming from the devil or Trigon. The source for both comes from "The Presence" (associate with your monotheistic deity of choice). Blessed is bestowing His goodwill onto the earth. Cursed is bestowing His disapproval onto the earth. A hero can channel curses of The Presence toward villains and be doing the work of good. I suspect it's kinda like that. Or at least I wouldn't rule it out until we know more.

Well, comic villains are, for the most part, megalomaniacs. Thus, they end up fighting other villains, because they don't want to share power.

that may be true but lets look at teen titans first, slade teamed with trigon to take out the teen titans, when slade thought they were gone trigon turned on slade, slade then enlisted the help of the titans to take out trigon. so if we can help trigon to accomplish some major goal BEFORE we turn on him id be fine, i dont want to help wonder woman take out the biggest baddest demon there is. like in my OP, we helped batman recover the batcave, we helped superman recover the fortress, circe seems to be the only once we can count on too be the ruthless villain. So, if villains are to help her rescue trigon to kill a hero, then turn on trigon for circe to gain more power, that would be ok. im just tired of the villain side becoming the unorthidox hero role. so far the only raid where it feels like were doing something truly evil is in nexus.

For an entire year, the only relevant raids were magic. Prime was too difficult for your average group, not to mention pointless save for the helmet.

No, the only things that mattered for a long time was magic. Unpaid, Seeds, Vengeance, Dawn, Gates... plus the four man ops, Wayward Souls and Soul Alchemy.

No, for someone at end game, that past year has been a whole lot of magic bullocks. I've easily run more magic content then tech and meta combined. And not by just a little. Probably ten times more magic stuff has been run than everything else combined.

I'm not too thrilled about magic getting it's pointless fingers in the T5 pie. It's technically Meta's turn after Tech.

this stuff is always done. i'm fairly certain its all intentional. there are times i suspect jens sits around trying to figure out ways to "accidentally" leak info to us. i could be wrong, but he seems as excited about this game as some of us are.

You mean how T3 was pretty much all Meta (raid wise)?

And T2 was pretty much all Tech?

Now, each is getting attention. We already got Tech/Meta in Origin Crisis. This time, Magic takes the stage.

I Think you can look at it this way... Sorcery is Close to Mages in other games & Celestrial will be Close to Cleric classes in other games!

while i can agree with you, meta has had its share as well, the fortress was big, we got 3 raids for them. but then the meta line kinda stopped when we took out brainiac, so untill darksied or doomsday come into the raids again ( with i belive if the game follows the comic series should be soon after trigon) we wont see any meta untill after trigons story is finished. lets take a look at the stories we have gotten through the leveling process,

fight for the light explored what was happening with the ring malfunctions and ended that story
lighting strikes ( ok you have me there, grodd wasnt part of it)
battle for earth was the end of brainiac and the take over of the cities
last laugh ( again was not involved)
hand of fate ended the story of faust and dr fate ( while they were not directly involved it showcased them)
Home turf was just another way to make the gear grind process easier but at the same time ended the story with to morrows plots
origin crisis seems to have completely ended the crisis of earths story line
now sons of trigon, its only fair they finish the story for him, theres not much left to finish after that, they could finaly start new storys like darksied and doomsday and maybe the blackest night story arc.

I still wish they wouldnt left Mr. Freeze his story for villains only and would expand that kind of storyline to the hero side like he is going bigger after the first attempt of getting his wife back and now it causes chaos for both sides. Brings in Two-Face, doesnt needs a Batman, Nightwing will do it too, like Freeze analyses the radioactive actions finds smth in those material to bring back his wife in Bludhavens not so human area and turns it into a Freezehaven. Whatever, there is still some cool stuff left, mostly one-sided content yet which can be easily expanded for both sides.
