DLC8 power- Celestrial Confirmed- Holy & Dark powers

Telekinesis is only one aspect of mental they other is, messing with the mind via inflicting fear, panic, making them THINK they feel something. Quantum has nothing similar to that. Literally the only similar moves they have are TK Bolt and Tachyon Blast. NOTHING else is similar.

I'm still holding out for an official confirmation (as this could just as easily be a photoshop as an actual screen), but if it is the new healing power I'm extremely disappointed. Too similar to sorcery, which I was never a fan of in the first place.

You can't say it's too similar to Sorcery when you haven't even seen it in action. We have no idea how it works or what it looks like.

Fake. The devs already confirmed the new power is unicorn based.

Oh well. Unicorn powers may be tank. On a serious note, I may have to sub to PC again to try it out when it finally comes out.

I'm happy to see another magic powerset being introduced. I would however prefer that it wasn't another healing set, making both magic powersets have the same role.

The description on that literally says holy and unholy magic. Key word being MAGIC. Sorcery is a LITERAL SYNONYM for MAGIC. I think it is safe to say they are similar. I'm also gonna call this fake. No way to recreate and the OP got the pic from someone other than them self. I also don't think the devs are dumb enough to try and sell us a power so ascetically similar to a power we already have. ESPECIALLY after the unique and pleasing surprise of Quantum.

If that's the case then you're not gonna be a happy camper once it's officially announced at SOE Live.

Whilst we don't know fully, i'm sure we're all thinking the same thing. The new powerset could be very similar to sorcery(too similar even), and as far as role goes it will serve the same function.

Perhaps, with the revamp of sorcery, the powerset will focus more on destructive magic and offense, whereas the new magic powerset will focus on more on support and defensive magic.

so what's the difference thematically with sorcery -_-
I think they're just getting lazy.

I'm gonna prep my storm gear then, because it's true.

But I do ask that you at least give it a chance and don't just flip a table once you find out for sure that it is Celestial. Give it a chance to see how the power interactions work and what kind of unique element (if any) it brings to healing.

So true. Tons of MMOs have various different classes of Magic users such as Sorcery, Celestial, Shamans, Summoners etc. and they're all different from one another. Saying all Magic is the same is like saying all milkshake flavours taste Vanilla.

Just because the powers are Holy- and Darkness-based it doesn't necessarily mean that this powerset will play like Sorcery.

Dr. Light is in the DLC ... perhaps Holy has a few construct-like powers, making it more like Hard Light.

Well that depends on how strict you are with the definition of magic. If you are in the group that says magic of any kind falls into the same group then I can see why you would be upset. If you look at magic as the Base and other as derivatives of that base then you can see differences.

Take Sorcery and Celestial as examples. Sorcery, judging by the powers seems to be more about alteration of environment through the control of destiny. Celestial seems like it would be more paladin/priest like. They get their powers through faith in some divine being. I feel as if Dr. Fate and Felix Faust were the precursor to this power set.

I wonder if Mepps is off cussing someone out for letting this happen.
