disabling cross faction is flawed and needs to be addressed

those are NPCs though. we are players and players can feel differently and should be able to play how they want. the more restrictions a game has the less fun it becomes

So restrictions are fine for villains but not for heroes? Who is oppressing who now?

You are just too good to accept help against a common foe?

Do you really think that people join the villain faction caus they want to be evil?

FWIW I have seen WAY more griefing and harsh words in chat on the heroes side than on the villain. It is one of the reasons I play on the side with (mostly) harder content and lower population. You don't see people constantly complaining about "foreign languages" in chat. You almost never see people kicked for having the "wrong" power. Most of the time when someone is not performing in an instance you see more patience and advice rather than abuse. Some of this is because the villain side is a much smaller place where being a jerk gets you unable to put together a group way faster, but in general I like average villains more than the average hero in this game.

That "restriction" guarantees that noone can slow down my queue-times and fun for whatever reason when I finally will be able to play on my very first character (EUPC Villain) again which was close to impossible bc of population. Some heroes using the feature you request out of fun and I will be stuck again. Isnt there a way to somehow "roleplay" around this? Im not into roleplay at all but doesnt almost every mmo without dedicated RP-servers have these kind of issues?
I am (for once:)) really pleased with CF and its implementation.

what are you talking about when did i ever say that?
  5. megamanexe Committed Player

no there's no way to roleplay out of it because it's not what i want. my heart won't be in it and i would just stay away from random queues once this hits or leave a random group if i find out members of the other faction are in there. you aren't guaranteed anything. like i said if we got paired up and i left or you were kicked your time is still wasted and your progression is slowed down. at least my way we could skip that step and you will be paired with someone else. i'm sure the amount of people who would want to opt out completely is really small so you would hardly be affected.

You said you intend to kick villains who are matched with you. Not because we are bad players or rude or even because we have nicer costumes. You want to kick villains for the SOLE reason that we are villains. You want to halt our ability to queue into content quicker to suit you. THAT is restrictive and frankly, as Men Toc said, rather oppressive.

Then again, with a 3 hour kick window, you will waste that one on the first villain you are Suicide Squad matched with......then the second pug villain comes in and.......

Not sure what you mean by "unable to role play out of it". Batman has worked with Lex to start this whole thing off. Wonder Woman worked with Circe even though the "sudden but inevitable" betrayal was inevitable. You have run missions for Cat Woman, Two Face, and Lady Shiva. You helped Sinestro to restore the fear power battery.

Seems to me the heroic thing to do is to give a villain a chance to redeem themselves with good deeds, or do you believe that Super Man should solve the Secret Society problem by throwing them all into the sun?

by that, i mean that i don't want to pair with the other faction because it's not what i want. other characters in the comics may be all about second chances or trying their hand at redemption but not my guys. don't want to play with the other team.

CF is mainly meant to help out villain queue-times I guess (especially on smaller servers). I d really rather be kicked/left by the few RPers I come across than giving the hero-playerbase the ability to "abuse" the feature you are requesting since they dont really need it.
I understand that it has a huge impact on the way you like to play but imo its the right way to help out the majority of Villains.

agree I barly play my villan to lack people want to play on the villan side . there is a people in HOD just stand around doing nothing , so q to togher i might play on villan more , we just a lfg for both sides in the future , i would be hard to q and be the right the need for a raid . not knowing what other roles q , and the same goes with Lpve , if Im on the villan and pick a toon and random q there is good chance i will not team up with the right legend to get the feat .
  11. megamanexe Committed Player

i said i would leave..and i'm not halting your queue time. i want to not halt my progression or your progression. if i queued up and got paired with a hero or a villain while i'm on the other faction then left because that's not the way i like to play then that group will be waiting for another person to fill my spot. i think they would rather have had someone else who wouldn't leave from the start so if i were able to opt out completely then nobody's time would be wasted.
  12. Vesper Dedicated Player

Make your own groups then. Period. End of problem.

Make your own groups, never ever pug. Never ever ever EVER allow random match-fill when someone (inevitably) leaves or dcs from your raid. Cuz your desire to slow yourself down cuz you don't wanna play with others in an MMO should NOT affect everyone else's desire TO play with others in an MMO.

yeah well as a villain i dont see any help from this.most of my toons are villains and when i play villain i want to do that: be a villain. im glad that people who need help are getting helped but at the same time those of us who didnt want this kind of help are getting the short end of the stick and we should be able to refuse this "help" if we are fine without it.
  14. megamanexe Committed Player

it shouldn't and i dont see why it would. either way we wouldn't play together so what is the harm in jumping ahead one step?
  15. majosea Dedicated Player

yes we need a to talk both sides and make a group . that would better than just random q
  16. Thunderbolt Dedicated Player

I'm not being negative. I just support the idea.
  17. megamanexe Committed Player

do you really because it sounds like you are against my idea...unless you are referring to the cross faction idea which then your retort is irrelevant because i am not saying i am against the idea. if you want to cross your factions cool..do it. i however want a way to opt out of it and not a half ***** opt out where the other team can join me anyway, a real opt out. we should all be able to get what we want.
  18. StealthBlue Loyal Player

I really don't see what the problem is here. Opting out just means you won't be placed into the opposite faction's version of the instance. As far as players go, from the reports on the test server you can't even tell if the person you are playing with is a hero or villain unless they are hard light (green/yellow lantern). And they've posed that as a concern more for friend list/grouping for future runs or possible league recruitment (meaning you like someone and want to run with them more only to find out they are in the other faction).

As Mepps pointed out, if the opt out option worked both ways, if enough people in one faction were to opt out, it would start affecting the queue times for the other faction (especially on lower populated servers). They are implementing a system in PvE to improve queue times that works for PvP, and one player or group of players should not be able to negatively affect the queue times of another.

Sorry, not your idea, but the cross faction idea. I also agree with Mepps. While you can opt out, others can still join you and that's only fair. It helps speed up the que system. Besides, what's the big deal playing with someone from the other side?

the problem is i want to opt out completely, which opting out does not let you do.

a lot of people said the same argument about having census data posted online and cr being displayed and such. "people will kick more" and such...we're fine now. who's to say we won't be fine with a better opting out option? and even if a majority did opt out then maybe that says that this task force thing should have never been implemented in the first place.
