DEVS; Request on Water's Dehydrate ability - Supercharge Indicator

    I made a post in the past, when HUD artifact is released on Test server but it got no love somehow. So I'm bringing it up again fresh and clear:

    Can we implement same indicator tech that HUD artifact uses to Water powerset's "Dehydrate" ability? For example when supercharge bar reaches to 25% make dehydrate glow yellow, when it reaches to 50% make it glow green and for 100% make it glow red.(I didnt mention 75% because in general supercharges 25% 50% or 100%. We can add another glowing color and highlight 75% milestone if possible).

    Also it might need tweaks while implementing because of how Soul Cloak artifacts effects the supercharge bar. (Possible bug):Since Dehydrate is not classified as a "Supercharge" ability, when we equip Soul Cloak, Dehydrate takes up the enlarged SC pool as 100% base and that nullifies the bonus of Soul cloak artifact for Dehydrate.

    that's a thought... but I would prefer to have dehydrate do damage consistently across content (within the same tier).
    you can see this using dehydrate in solo content - next try it within same tier 8 man or 4 man content.
    dehydrate his hard within solo but not so much in 4 man and 8 man.
    As for myself - I just glance up at the normal SC bar.

    What makes dehydrate different is you don't need to wait for any level. So even if it's at a low "SC" which would be red in your case... you could still use it and it hits somewhere between 10K-40K (this is after say two rounds of build up w/weapon hitting)
    a full "SC" can hit for over 100K - but again it's not consistent - and I guess it depends on if the target has that much health...
    - I do like the thought of not having to glance upwards - and instead retain your eyesight on your powerset loadout.

    this SC that isn't a SC - is like of other powers in DCUO that is similar - but not quite the same...
    take for instance finishers - some hit for damage per hit - others hit more times (5x instead of 4x) - there's always a tradeoff...
    but the developers do seem to make certain powers better with certain powersets.

    FASTER SC build up:
    I would like to see an artifact that does faster initial build up of SC and this should also affect dehydrate - even though its not a true SC. (doesn't have a SC indicator on powerset or restricted by minimum required SC for usage).
    the current artifacts are faster bulid up after a discharge - so you still need to build that first SC.
    I did like the consumable in wonderverse content - but it only works there nowhere else - building the consumable is so random IMHO.

    it would be nice to have - but perhaps if it was tied in to stats - say use skill points to a SC stat this would allow faster build up of SC

    with a faster SC build up for dehydrate - it might then be a little more practical to attempt just using precision, shield and dehydrate for a water dps build - right now - precision just doesn't hit hard enough (since nerf) - and you must use something else like waterspouts to keep adds juggled/stunned/knocked down for that extra split second (this makes it comfortable to use precision)

    compare this to all the varied might builds which hit far harder than precision. (often 10mil or more on 8 man raids)

    and I don't think we'll ever be allowed to fully fill in all the points for might and precision - though I think we should be.

    I'm aware of the things you said, especially the red part. What I'm asking is since we didn't have HUD artifact indicator tech in the past and now we have it, it would be nice addition to get 25/50/75/100 % milestone damages just by looking to the glowing indicators. And with 3 seconds cooldown Dehydrate could be more viable and improve/change Water single target builds.

    Some type of indicator would be nice for dehydrate, yes.
    It was mentioned for ST builds, here's what I do...
    I will build up my SC during add fights (happens naturally), so when I get to a boss, I'll use it.
    Heat vision (queuing a range tap doesn't end channel) hit might trinket, bubble, dehydrate, torrent, dehydrate, repeat (bubble when available).

    Dehydrate hits hard even without SC built, so I keep in my ST loadout, at the cost of not building anymore SC.

    It would be even better if Dehydrate benefited from Soul Cloak's increased SC capacity. Wouldn't mind seeing the ability tweaked overall to integrate an increased SC pool from Soul Cloak, league buffs, etc.

    Dehydrate is a very unique power. It doubles as a normal power and a supercharge. Doesn't follow the same cooldown mechanics as other supercharges do and it deals damage based on how much SC you have built up. No other power follows these rules.

    I don't know if they would be able to change the indicator to include different colors, but I think they could alter the tray icon to include the SC bar showing how much SC is built to it. It wouldn't be exactly what you requested, but I think it would at least work as a compromise.

    Since it's a single power, it would probably be filed under "nice to have" and take a while before they implement it while they handle things that can affect more of the player base.
