If I enter an old game code from 2011 for a collector's edition of the game will I get the rewards from it (assuming the code hasn't been used)? Like the joker/bat drone pet? Or do these codes for the collector's edition "expire" like rotted food?
I really wanted the drones. They should put these on Fate or give us another way to get them or a variation on them. It's rather rediculous that codes that are still good out there aren't able to get these items.
There are variations of the drones in the form of combat pets. You can get it as a random drop from the Rise of the Bat alert. If luck doesn't go your way, you can additionally purchase it from Chang Tzu in the House of Legends. Side note: The dropped version from the alert will count towards a feat, while the one bought from Chang Tzu will not. Good luck!
I bought the batman with the code maybe 3-4 years back and the code worked - I got lucky on ebay though
Just to add to this, while the new version is cosmetically identical to the original (or potentially slightly improved) it doesn't give 5% health buff or stay out indefinitely like the original collectors edition drone did.
You can't get anything that looks like the Joker Balloon with Gun Hanging below it and that was the main thing I was after. Lots of bat this and bat that in this game I did check chang-egg to see if he had anything like that but no he didn't :/ Makes me sad. By the way I do appreciate your response and help! I just kind of grouped the joker blimp with the bat drone as that's what the wiki says were given out with the 2011 collectors edition code.
Yeah I just grabbed an edition that was really banged up off ebay for really cheap and the code gave me a month free and 500 sc and said it was giving me the items but they never showed up, and customer service was of zero help whatsoever and just told me to post that I'd like to see those pets added back to the game, for all the good that'll do.... posting about it. Don't really expect a green name response. So I figured I'd ask if the codes were supposed to work forever or just expired. Sadly I really need a dev/green name to look into that and answer because half the GM's on customer service don't know diddly squat. Hell the link they gave me to the forums didn't even work LOL.

Ingame Claim button on the marketplace interface? Yeah I've opened that a few times and nothing new is on it. Nothing in ingame e-mail either. Nothing with F1 and the granted items menu either.
I meant how did you buy the code in ebay? It's an in-game one right? Was someone selling the code in ebay? I didn't realize they sell those there.
Oh sorry!!! So, when the game released wwaayy back in 2011, there was a limited promotion where you could buy a limited edition batman statue. This statue had the game disc, some dcuo comics, a game manual etc - plus a code, the code is what people are discussing. The code gave you an exclusive pet that you could choose the bat drone or joker drone, it also gave 500 SC (what we call DB Cash now) and maybe other stuff but i cannot recall. Well I only joined in mid 2012 so missed out but heard about it from some that had joined earlier. back in 2018 or so I went looking for it on ebay and found it in mint condition, I asked the seller "has it ever been opened" - he said he bought it off a collector a few years earlier and he had never opened it and he didn't think they had either. I took the chance, and it paid off, I put in the code, got the pet, cash etc and the code worked EDIT: I might have bought it longer than 5 years back not "3 or 4" like I said.. I redid my e-bay username etc after too much fraud on it etc about 2 years back so cannot check
Oh wow. Didn't know that. I only played online from 2012 onwards. Didn't realize there was a statue. I thought it was an in-game base item or trinket statue. I'm jealous.
They sold me an old beat up box that hadn't been opened. Disks were in fine shape, code worked...mostly.
Hmm the one I bought didn't have the statue, but said it was a 2011 edition (on the box) and that you got the 2011 stuff. I wonder if a code with the statue would actually work or if the GM was right and saying it has expired. I don't have much faith in that response seeing as they didn't even give me a proper link to the forums. :/ Still the website did say that there was a 'care package' that came with the code and that never showed up in any form.
