Developers please consider this in a maximum way! Healers need to pick up faster than other roles.

    Hello Developers & Community,

We are in the year 2017. Healers (and other support roles if you are in a good mood) should pick up faster than DPS and/or other roles.

It makes sense and it is time for DCUO to make it happen, preferably with the next update, GU73.

Solo healers shouldn't be picking up, anyway. And if you have two healers...LOL

Nothing wrong with having two healers, especially after the revamp hits. As for the OP's idea, I'd say it's a decent idea, but not really necessary. I'm neither for or against it.

It's <current year>! We need to design our combat system in such a way that DPS are disincentivized from actively helping their team!

I was LOLing to the idea that if you had two healers and still needed a boost for pickups...

    ORRRRRR
Dps can do it since only the burn slows down for a second or so, rather then making the 1-2 people trying to keep you alive stop healing/tanking/controlling why cant you do it?

Pickups are DPS job unless someone goes down right next to me. I'm not going to stop healing to run across the room and pick someone up,.

The OP isn't wrong tbh and a lot of groups expect support roles to pickup (some even question why the tanks are being jerks not picking up). That said, doing this will just encourage the mindset of "support roles should pick up cause burn comes first."

If I go down and the tank has to pick me up, I'm peacing out. I don't have time for foolishness.

6 years in and this is still up for debate??? There should be no changes made to make force support roles to do pick ups. That job belongs to every able bodied player in the instance, period. Only under extreme circumstances should a solo healer ever pick up (eg; boss is down to a sliver of health). Any DPS not picking up when they can is a garbage scoreboard chaser or is possibly falling asleep while playing.

I wouldn't even get close to a tank just to avoid a situation like that.

Ah, the power of argument by assertion. As if it weren't literally a classic logical fallacy.

Good healers dont worry about pickups because nobody and I mean nobody dies.

And if a member did die, its because they failed to understand how the block button works.

    I'm sayin tho right?

Sorcery needs a mass revive supercharge that instantly revives 4 knocked out group members. Useable only after a cool down and specific heal string combo of powers.

Nature needs Phoenix form or Bird of Paradise plant form. Letting the player revive 7 downed teammates at once to full health and power. Useable only once and the supercharge meter has to be charged once for each life you intend to revive. Player is unable to change to any forms for the next 3 mins.

Electricity needs a repeatable revive supercharge for two group members not including the caster. A floating ball of replenishing energy hovers over the affected group mate. They are granted 2 instant revives if knocked out. Requires no other interaction from caster. This cool down is medium long for caster but completely depletes energy bar.

    Celestial....f*** celestial.

If no one is going to pick someone up healers have no choice but to.

We shouldn't have to as healers because we're keeping everyone alive but if there's a window in which I can pick someone up I don't mind it. I've picked up people as a tank before and didn't care, it didn't mess up my savagery ;)

To be honest I always thought ideas like this were the best way to balance the game. Since I first started playing DC years ago, I thought that the way they tried to balance the game was a fools errand. And I never thought that all powers should be balanced in the same way anyways.

This is really just spring boarding off of the OP's topic, but lets say you have a healing power that is clearly weaker than other healing powers.....Well, maybe instead of trying to bring them up exactly in line with OP healing powers, give them an ability to do fast pick ups...Or pick up from a distance...Or give them an ability in their loadout where if anyone is down they can use that power to to pick ups...Or a pet that does pick ups or something...

I would go the opposite way...By trying to achieve balance by making powers so different in their abilities that everyone has an edge in different scenarios or to a different degree.

Same for DPS powers....maybe give some of the weaker DPS powers the ability to help with healing or trolling or give them bomb *** 8 man shields, or the ability to help with tanking for a short period of time if the tank goes down...Or something....Something out of the box to make the game more dynamic and interesting and less cookie cutter...

If you do it that way then I think it makes it a little harder to discern balancing issues because you expect there to be some imbalance. But at the same time, everyone still would have some advantage that would be valuable in situations that could arise.

I think this would also encourage more diversity in how groups are made as well as toon play/creation as well.
