Decided to give DCUO another shot

Just got my account back, upgraded to legendary and I'm basically going to play it for a month to see if it's worth spending more time and money on.

    First impressions

    1) 15 bucks per month for the sub is kinda a hefty price. You can buy the episodes but then you are still stuck with the in game money limit

    2) No idea what all these changes are about, doesn't really seem to be much in game that tells you about these things. It's actually kinda overwhelming and I'm considering starting a new hero just to learn but at the same time I don't know how updated the earlier content is.

    Gyrating storm troopers.

    Things that cannot be unseen.

    1. There shouldn't be a cap on your money if you purchased a month subscription.
    2. If you have specific questions or are stuck on something feel free to ask. It's a lot to take in for new players.

I don't think he said that he had a cap. He was comparing the monthly subscription benefits vs just buying the DLC.

    Ohhhh I see.

Which is why I pay $9.99 a month. (The yearly rate and in the past at least once as a special promotional price.)

And since Legendary gives everyone $5.00 a month in Station Cash, you can plausibly, if you choose, look at it as costing only $4.99/month. If you like.

I give reason for u play DCUO

First ignore the forum community u just will face haters here, they dont care about the game just complain about it and btw they represent less 20% of ingame accounts

Second, now there are alot options for pvp and pve, u can find alot power that runs good on both gameplay kind, so there arent just 1 Overpowered Power/class/role for play pve and pvp where verybody just copycat it FTW

3th, The Elite Raids have big challenge and need teamwork for beat it, thats good if u play woth friends

4th, There are alot new option for u cotumize your character, u can use shinnin style from any main character as superman, wonder-woman and more, u can create new costumes, u can buy nice Auras and Material usin jsut Marks that u earn playin the content,

5th, Time Capsule are cool and worth to buy, u can sell loot in and become rich or use it for earn nice style and feats, 99,9% forum community hates Time Capsule, but just ignore them, they arent end game cr/sp so they know nothin about

6th, Now we have got new event bonus, new content, new dlc, new TC almost each month, so ever there are some new stuffs for u to

I can continue write more reason for u come back and play the game :D but thats enouth

If you buy an annual sub when on discount it becomes around $7 per month.

Hey OP, just to clarify about how inconsiderably wrong this dude. There are few forum members here who don't always agree with another forum member. And that will always happen because everyone has different opinions. But for him to say we know nothing about the game and we do nothing but complain and are haters, is just out right wrong. I can think of many, many, forum members who always help out when the information is needed or help is wanted. I for one will help you in any way possible if you need it. Feel free to reply to me here, or PM me in my inbox and I will gladly help you, as I'm sure others will as well.

As to the person I'm quoting, speak for yourself and not for others.

Uh, you're here. Telling someone to ignore your own post is an odd choice.

I'd say less than 50% of the contributors are toxic. But if you're condemning the entire community, that includes you. You might want to rethink that one. Or not.

Since I doubt anyone will ask, where is that rock you been hiding under?

    And

A little behind schedule to mention the money cap.

I mean sure I believe you, no way have you actually believed that they would have changed their marketing that much, plus membership has and always held the most beneficial value over premium due to the money cap.

Another cash cap thread folks, nothing to see here.

Whatever turned you off DCUO, is still there.

But as long as there are still in-game friends to play with, that you will probably end up sticking around for a bit, and probably will take another break a few months later.

But if not a single in-game friend remains, I recommend you save the $ on some other game to spend your free time in with friends, either in-game or from real life.

there have been some good quality of life changes made to the game in the past year. lots of fun cosmetics as well. the initial attitude of not copying any dc character seems to have gone out the window. almost all new styles put in game are inspired by some iconic dc hero or another.

i think the revamp destroyed any fun the combat system had. there is very little versatility and in order to be a "competitive dps" you need to follow cookie cutter loadouts worse than what AMs were. Weaponry is out the window save for a few out of balance moves players exploit while claiming skill. several powers are flat out broken and have not been touched since the revamp. combat sucks unless you fotm.

on paper content we've been getting sounds exciting but the reality of it is its all re hashed or uninspired. Falls very flat. Too much of a grind doing too much of the same thing. Normal game mode is too easy. Current elite content is about as difficult as old normal content (fos2, prime, dox). You won't see many shouts for elite content. Earth 3, Titans Island, the Death of Superman and Deluge. Earth 3 doesn't feel very evil, titans island is a great map filled with weak hive drones and a few fearsome five bounties. There isn't enough open world content to keep you interested in it for more than a week or two. There are some instances I genuinely enjoy but overall the passion is just not there. Good luck getting groups together for earth 3, death of superman or starro bounties.

worst of all is the pay wall. with some 8 or 9 time capsules released, artifacts and augments, replays "required" to catch up...catching up is going to be an expensive journey. Even when a time capsule is new players can spend hundreds of dollars without completing everything. once those time capsules go away the cost to get these items and feats increases.

We've always had this "the game hasn't realized its potential yet" attitude. Sadly the game is as far removed from what i hoped to see as possible.

If you just want to waste time, play dress up theres some fun to be found no matter how fleeting.

If you think you're coming back to something better...I hope you find it. As it is I barely play anymore. I dont even know why i extended my sub another month. Far cry from how things used to be.

Most other mmos have a monthly sub And same price as dc

What I appreciate here are the exhaustively detailed notes on specifics, making clear to all exactly what the problems are and why they are problems.

If you hadn't given such specific information, the devs couldn't have possibly done anything, since "some powers and weapons are broken" is utterly vague and a post would be completely pointless.

But thanks to your specifics, the devs can get to work on fixing those problems, which will only involve investigating the complete game from scratch on the basis of a single utterly vague complaint, which certainly should be sufficient information for any programmer or engineer to follow up about.

Many thanks for your services in helping fix problems in the game here. We appreciate the amount of time you've spent on being helpfully specific and so detailed.

Yes, "the game has exhausted all its potential" certainly would be better news!

    Oh, wait.
