How many of us would roll back, save that money money we spent on this Daybreak ****, and just give our money to something worthwhile?
  2. Kharhaz Committed Player

I doubt you lot will be here to see it.

Good point, but this thread is the nail in the Daybreak coffin.

Here is why, many people commenting here have already left...

Left while reading this thread and the killer....

Dear Diary, **** this! yep, many people have had their eyes opened.

This is why this thread is the best we have seen yet, it has opened everyone's eyes as to what is going on, it has taken the players opinion and the devs and combined it into one big the devs said we dont care and the the players have said, "nor do we"

Actually, this is one of the best threads in terms of phrasing, framing and developer engagement. The Mouth of Sauron--err Daybreak--has chimed in several times, and the facts presented were so damning that they took down their own stream (#alternativefacts). I'd say this post has been highly effective in spreading information and dispelling misinformation. Heck, I stopped playing over a month (for good, characters deleted and everything) ago and I still check up on this thread simply since it's such a well presented argument.

    Prosystar killed dcuo with logic!!!!!

In the pantheon of dc universe online, a single thread exposed this game and the developers......one man, one thread, destroyed dcuo.

    Espn 30 for 30.

I stand by what i said and u didnt seem to address anything i said at all. I never said well thought out feedback would change anything. I asked u a question, which u did not answer ;) I also wouldnt call the developer feedback non existent when they did a Q&A stream about TCs and the revamp.

Also the OP or myself didnt use the forums for "dear diary" like u said. The OP started the thread as an answer to what was said during the stream. And i simply agreed with him and backed him up on his statement. Not sure how that is dear diary. When people have a discussion/debate on a topic they disagree on the intelligent people bring point and then counterpoint. And provide facts and evidence to prove their point and counterpoint. He asked a question, it was answered on the stream and he disagreed with the answer and provided evidence to back up his point on why he disagreed.

I didnt see him or me say this thread would change anything. I personally dont think it will but that is only an opinion and not fact. Stating u think nothing will change is an assumption and opinion. All anyone can do is wait until the next TC to see if changes happen. If they dont then people can claim the feedback didnt change anything as fact. And as for the speaking with the wallet thing, i am. I absolutely refuse to spend another cent on TC keys. And when my sub drops in 3 weeks i wont be subbing again until i see a dlc go live. I will not sub for a 30 day event. And the stat revamp will most likely happen before a dlc. If that isnt to my liking then i wont be subbing either. I will move on to a different game and occasionally check in on dcuo to see if things have changed to bring me back. And i know many other players doing the same thing. A ton of players actually.

Im just not sure what u want happen. People are expressing themselves to try and bring a change to something they strongly dislike. Either a change will happen or it wont. And people will make the decision to stay or leave. That is the bottom line. From what you're saying it seems like u just want people to say nothing and leave. People do do that. But some have spent a lot of time and money on the game and wont walk away that easily. They are going to give their opinion in hopes it will bring a change.

That is most important to stress. Also, due to other economical mechanisms in the game, there is no "against" between the "I'm paying" and "I'm not" groups of players; both groups can benefit from each other. Top of that mostly everything around the boxes can be traded in STO (you can buy the keys - which would be stabilizers in DCUO - from their ingame marketplace for real money and sell them for ingame cash, you do not have to open your box and hope for something "worth it" in order to exchange your cash for ingame money).

As the free players do not suffer any special currency caps like in DCUO, free players have access to everything withoug paying players needing to "restrict" themselves. The complete market is in way better shape, only thing to mention is: some of the prices suffer inflation very fast due to the game allowing to specifically grind for the basic currency easy. On the other hand, that nearly eliminates the gold sellers from business. Top of that, Cryptic comes with very easy report tools to keep chats clean and auto-detection - and rumoured, auto-punishment - for advertising gold seller websites. The bots that can be read from time to time still however had to disguise their website addresses to som extent (like 3W:GOLD'SELLER'SITE:COM and hoping that the potiential yet dimwitted customer can re-translate it :D).

The TCs in DCUO came way too early, before the surrounding environment was fixed for them to really work. Doing the same thing in different places does usually not work - selling low quality water in a desert can make you rich, selling low quality water in New York can get you arrested ;)

It won't get you arrested, selling low quality anything in New York usually ends up in a promotion to a City Government Job you were never qualified for.

Selling low quality stuff in games usually ends up in you getting a LARGE bonus at the end of the Fiscal Year.

    Xbox release.
sidenote. ....not specifying that we have data that shows that we have more active accounts* this year than last year. Is noteworthy? A marketing person is likely to have coached an employee to use special, often considered vague words at a PR event. I may have gotten used to seeing a new one of these each year? [IMG]

*active accounts - defined as either A. has logged-in within the last six months or B. has logged-in within the name reclaim duration/in the last 18 months. or would you prefer a different duration to define active accounts?

Obviously you need to open 250 more before you get it... so yes your perception :p

I believe they need to stop attaching feats to these TC because you should not have to pay to get feats. The phoenix material is
going for 100M - 250M in the broker and there is nothing in game to helps achieve that type of revenue.

On top of that we are offered only fragments daily not even a whole stabilizer and we get about 15 - 30 TC drops daily or maybe more for some, that's not including the 87 replays to reset which you still will have to come out of your pocket.

Now I know some one will say that they don't force you to pay but my opinion is if you don't pay you will not progress like want to
as far as SP and gear. Saying that, I do support this game a lot but the past few months it seems we are getting hit hard with stuff
    to buy.

To get all the vendor gear out of AF3 look at all the replays that's being spent for that and then buying stabilizers as well, but I'm not upset or mad just disappointed that I didn't think of creating a game like this so that I could make millions of dollars in one month.

But, but i'm afraid my perception will be the same even after opening 250 more and i can't shake this strange feeling that it's being controlled by someone else. Is this real or is it only in my head, did they just say they are constantly adjusting the drop rates and does that mean they have complete control over my perception? If that's true then can someone please wake me up from this nightmare?
  17. Wiccan026 Loyal Player

Tell you what, you had me the money for the next 250 stabilizers and I will go ahead and ensure that your perception gets fixed for the beter :p
  18. Kayla El Committed Player

Fix my perception first and maybe just maybe i'll give you the money after.
  19. Wiccan026 Loyal Player

That's kind of difficult, I need your money to fix your perception :D

Cant believe this thread is still going  At this point what is really left to say on the topic? People who missed the vid cant watch it and most people who did watch chimed in with this thread and gave their opinion and the devs responded. Whether ya agree or disagree with their answer they responded. And mepps said again on discord on friday they are monitoring this TC still and will be looking into changes. So all any of us can do is wait and see what the next one brings.

I think its clear most people want the feats removed or the TCs to go back to how the 1st one was. So all we can do is give them the chance to change/correct it. If they dont, well that is another thread for another day ;)
