To much to write... Can we start back before gu36 and go from there?

I was wondering where another ''this game is dying because of GU47'' thread would pop up...

Well I think the game is dying because Players can't adapt to change. Either Adapt or stop playing. Either way Dcuo isn't dying

Let me reiterate again, this not a Dcuo death thread.

For me, I was so happy with DCUO before GU 47. The difficulty felt reasonable and I was getting marks at a fair rate. Now I end up in PUGs where people with the recommended CR rating get swatted like flies and on the off chance that we win after several failed attempts - I'll be lucky to earn a couple of marks.

I do love challenges - but only when the reward matches the amount of time put into the challenge.

DCUO has survived many other equally strong blows over the last 4 years. It's Still Here And It's Still Strong. DCUO will keep on trucking as it always has.

Also by the way this was stated by the DCUO Management. DCUO has survived a whole 4 years now and it's stronger then it's ever been (meaning it's more profitable and more populated then it's ever been). If a MMO survives the first 4 years and it's still at a strong point then assuming no "freak occurrence" happens then it's going to be around for many more years to come. Basically they've survived long enuff to hit the "MMO Safe Era" where almost nothing can kill them now.

To me, the new player experience is the key to long-term game existence.
When a game stops getting new players, the game is on it's last legs.

    New leveling content.
This would be content in addition to the current leveling content.
I think that the leveling content is some of the best in the game. I don't think it is a bad thing that the content is based on storylines that went on before the Crisis on Infinite Earths
I know there is contain based on the storage capacity of the PlayStation 3.
I do believe that alternate leveling-content routes would make it more interesting to make new characters.
This is a benefit to me because I like making new character and exploring the different power sets in the game.
I know that this game has given players a way to spend money to change power sets - but, honestly, that takes away for the need for players to experience the level-up process with a new character and takes them away from the population level of leveling characters.

And that leads me to leveling-content that is based on grouping.
Having content that requires 4 players to participate in normal leveling content (not in the My Duty menu) would allow a new type of content during leveling that is an option for advanced players leveling new characters.
More open world bounties based on characters in the DC Universe that are not currently in the game.

More open world situations that draw players into the open world in general.
Shouldn't be too hard for a DEV to figure out what kinds of things would draw players into the open world to interact with lower level characters. (But, apparently, it is).

Fix the loot table in lower tiers getting healer gear 80% of the time when you are a troll is a kick in the balls, especially when hunting for styles, if i want to gamble i will go to a casino. Add leveling content that has a role tutorial it is well pass time.
More DC centric content or storylines please. More styles and interaction with base items. More open world.

wm really broke this game. all of a sudden you could do crazy damage, so the health of monsters had to be drastically increased in top tiers, but that broke the lower tiers so those had to be adjusted. but if you dont use wm or have enough skill points or are new to the game you have no idea what wm is you try to do those "adjusted" and "rebalanced" lower tiers you're out of luck because of wm and now am.

    0) make it optional to queue with similar cr players or not. hopefully this will make more players queue so that this kind of matchmaking is viable
    1) re-rebalance lower tiers to pre wm levels and say "wm and am are intended for t6 and above but go ahead and use them in lower tiers if you must just be aware people may not like it" that way new players can learn and get skill points from the lower tiers and then be ready for the top tiers
    2) give marks to all players from any instance.
    3) remove the scoreboard. this was a bad idea
    4) wm and am have no place in competitive pvp. i mean seriously, the powers arent balanced, skill points are just a matter of who has been playing the longest, so beginners are completely discouraged. this definitely needs matchmaking, where same level cr queues up against same level cr if this doesnt work just do away with pvp cr entirely

I don't know if the new marks system causes people to quit but I don't believe it helped anything. Unfortunately unless the devs change their mind, I think I read before where one of them said they were not changing the marks again.

Devs said the scoreboard was staying, short version is they felt it would cause more negativity by removing it and require a lot of extra work. I think once they cycle through attempting to balance dps roles, they should just leave things alone and focus on content and bug fixes. Devs said a while back that they were already working on fixing where powers override each other. Basically what I got out of what they said is that let's say if 2 sorcery players drops a circle then each circles function independently and will not interfere with each other nor override each other but when this will be changed, who knows.

I would like to see some sort of new mark implemented for T5 and below so that if anyone runs an alt, they no longer risk ending up being t6 or t7 and having to run t6 t7 content endlessly to spend marks potentially on some lower tier styles. I think Stat Flattening did hurt the game overall. Not as many people will run certain content because of it. On some lower tier instances, even if everyone knows the run, it could take a long time unless they're high cr. People at the recommended CR would have a rough time with instances like T4 inner alert or prime.

----- One thing I never quite understood about those developers is why would they do stat flattening on something that was not broken. If anyone wanted a challenge from lower tier content then that person or persons could simply remove some gear or get some lower tier gear. By doing this, the lower tier content would become more challenging again and would not force everyone to deal with it. -----

I did notice before gu47, queue times on villain side were reasonable but after gu47 they became horrible, so much that I run mostly on hero side again now days until there is some solution for the villain side. It's simply not fun sitting 1-2hr in queue for 1 instance and yes I have lol. When I was leveling an alt a few weeks ago, I sat in queue for T5 ops for just over 1 1/2hr before i exited game. I was watching at tv show and talking to people but after that much time had passed I was about to step away from the pc for a while so it's bad sometimes.

New player experience probably is pretty bad since gu47. The devs claimed they fixed Gorilla Island but they lied, completely lied lol. Yesterday I was leveling a new character and the adds were killing people in 3 or so hits like before still. The bosses were easy but at Ultra Humanite, the adds pile up and wipe groups still without a high cr. This was a run with everyone a few levels above what the alert is for. I don't know what all else is still broken for leveling up but I'm sure some is.

The devs also screwed up back when they made bounties level 30. I remember back when level 12 players could join in or get people for Bizarro but now they have to be level 30 and avoid him like the plague or die almost instantly. The new player experience is not very good right now but the devs don't seem to care or are just in no rush to fix it. I believe they had good intentions with gu47 but gu47 sure did not deliver that much that was good.

This what happened, at least in my experience. With old marks, ppl were running everythin and we're on longer period of time on dc than now.

All I see now which I do it too. Run my "relevant " content then log off so I spend 2hrs or less a day and I actually only play 4 days a week now I used to play 6 days almost 7 hrs a day.

I don't think that dcuo is going to die soon.
but a lot of people like me have moved to other games ( teso, witcher 3,destiny dlc), that means the cash flow is getting lower for this game.
less money always means less quality...as we can see by the current state dcuo is right now.
    reviving ideas?
    fix the game ...

    1. Top of the list is to finish with the power balancing. It's been 4 years and it's a never ending rotation, and when coming out with new powers, make sure they are in balance with the existing powers.
    2. Eliminate the facet of power over-riding, both as dps and support roles. Why should only a few powers be punished for being in the same instance with another of the same power?
    3. Eliminate the statistics from the scoreboard keeping only the time and deaths and allow each player to only see his own individual statistics in the leaderboard as you can see it in the combat out in your chat. This right here I believe would fundamentally change the way people play in instances.

There are plenty more but I think these are my top 3.

i tend to go with the flow of things. if by some miracle of chance the changes i would like to see come to pass we would be playing a different game with similar graphics.

overall i want content to be fun and captivating. i think we can all agree that we want more content period.

i'm all for an expansion, it would be nice to be able to log on and get that feeling of being overwhelmed with things to do again. 31st century metropolis, new york city, skartaris, earth 3 (imagine an environment where heroes ar considered villains and villains are considered heroes?). all would be nice but there is also enough of metropolis and gotham city that is just sitting there desolate and looking good that i'm hoping some of our upcoming new non trilogy related monthly content might take advantage of it.

we're in a bit of a rut with our supporting cast, the stars of the dcu. love all the classic characters but there are lots of other characters out there and in game that deserve more attention (the brain and mallah, amazo, firestorm, the atom, the doom patrol, the brotherhood of evil, the csa, more of the fearsome five, the marvel family). we need some newer open world bounties- mr.mind driving a giant killer robot, lobo. The one distinct advantage this game has over anything else dc is we get to play with the classic versions of these characters. this alone should be bringing in fanboys by the boatload.

i don't get why people are so upset over not getting marks in lower tiered content. i stated a little while ago that most longer term players really have little need for marks to begin with. If you're up to date on all the tier styles, all the rare vendor styles and your tokens of merit feat what do you really need these marks for besides lair and u belt rent? at this point in the new dlc if you're running the new content every day you should be full 108 with at least a few pieces of 110 gear.

the problem is that the new mark system hurts new players. old gear went from being uber cheap back to its original cost which stunts players trying to get into the game. you can still power level...but youre doing it without the benefit of being able to finish off those early tier styles quickly. before it was too fast with mods effecting crs. now its too slow so players eager to jump ahead are going to do so without the benefit of completing off tier styles and all that stuff. point is: tier gear needs to be cheaper.

A rare style vendor that sells all the t1-4 raid gear would be nice too. i need two styles across my main toon and two most played alts (my "a" team). when my two alts finally succeed in completing those two sets i plan on taking my main on a power jumping journey to unlock those feats. when this happens i'll be spending money on respec tokens and replays but until then its not happening. ive been hunting those two styles for quite some time (they both drop from t2 raids...). adding these to a rare style vendor could get other layers who are insane about these things to spend some cash on the game.

i dont hate WM and AM but i dont love them as much as I did before they were brought into the game.

my issue with WM is that my bioggest moves have nothing to do with y weapon of choice but rather a secondary weapon. would have been nice if we could have gotten a few special power house moves that utilize our main weapons.

my issue with AM is that its just to repetitive. I miss working on maintaining rotationsand working my weapon into things and managing my power bar. theres some potential here as we progress but I think content is going to have to get much tougher in order to keep up with our own op'ness. would be nice to be able to work weapons into things as well and not see our damage drop down to "kick me" status.

more than anything i think that the devs should secretly email me the entire set of elvis inspired styles so my main alt can finally have some pants with spangles on them.

    with a bell bottom variant.

and a bee hive hairstyle, but thats for another alt.

the game is to confusing to new players and returning players.

i remember spending hours showing a guy around the watchtower and explaining the armor tiers/mods/on duty/retired armors/pvp content and so on..

I've been away for 6 months and coming back was horrible.
They changed the marks? yes ofc! they always change the marks
There are new armor vendors? yes, and have fun looking for them since they are scattered all over the entire DC Universe.
Is there a new map/area? yes..yes have fun looking for it. oh and by the way we relocated all the entrances to the old dlc's too
