DCUO’s Halloween Seasonal Event – The Midnight Mascarade, returns in 2017 with a range of new items to collect.

There’s a brand new 3 piece Plague Doctor set which takes inspiration from the equipment worn by doctors in the 1300s during the Black Death pandemic which swept across Europe.

In addition to the Plague Doctor style, the 3 piece Spooky Spider style was also added. This style is similar to the Asteroidea style that was available during the Starro the Conqueror event except instead of starfish, you’ve got giant Spiders clinging to your body.

The 2017 update also includes 26 base items. Only 6 of which are required for the expected seasonal base item feat. These 6 items are themed around Arkham Asylum’s exterior and include the iconic Arkham Asylum entrance gate, fencing and walls. There’s also a neat little hand base item that looks like a zombie breaking up through the ground.

The remaining 20 base items include additional spotlights, crystal pedestals and candles to go with similar base items added last year. There are also bare versions of the Spring tree base items to allow you to create a haunted wood. The much requested Fog base item has been added in both a large and small size.

The final base item to be added to 2017’s Halloween Seasonal event is a base pet of Catwoman’s pet cat Isis. Isis is a reskin of last year’s Teekl pet, but features all black fur and a diamond collar.

Collecting all 3 pieces from this style set will unlock the “Bubonic Buster” feat. This feat is a 1 star feat and worth 10 feat points.

Notes
This style is attached to scaling gear. Each piece of gear has a Required Level of 10 and will scale to a minimum Item Level of 10 and a maximum Item Level of 172. The item level is determined by your current Combat Rating.

This style is similar to the Starro Asteroidea style which saw Starros attaching themselves to your character’s body.

Free Gift

Treat and Treat Bag

On the 4th of October 2017, all DCUO players were sent the Treat and Treat Bag. The Treat and Treat Bag is a free gift, redeemable via the marketplace, that contains an array of Halloween themed rewards.

Players had to log in to the game before the 31st of October 2017 to get their Treat and Treat Bag reward. After logging in, the bag would be located in the Redeem section of the Marketplace. The Bag was limited to 1 per account, but several of the items inside are account bound or tradable.

The Treat and Treat Bag made it's mark on DCUO history by being the vessel which provides players with access to the first, fully-realised 4-star, 100 Point feat titled the "Bat Got Your Tongue?" feat. As the feat is worth 100 feat points, you immediately gain 1 skill point when unlocking it. To unlock the feat, all you have to do is collect all of the base items featured in the Spooky Decorations Box.

i'm definitely gonna be busy this time next month with all this stuff for the base. though as much as i love the plague doctor mask i still can't help but regret that this isn't in game as a mask

Wow, if the standard amount of 5 comes from the instance even with the help of alts obtaining extra base items for deco will be a hard grind.

Yeah, I've already had 2 whilst doing the Open World mission for the first time this year.

Giant Fish Statue

This dropped for me yesterday, from Isis.

Umm... so it's dropping unique items that have nothing to do with Halloween at all? K... devs.

so does anybody know what the "robbing halloween mask" is? can't find mention of it so not sure what it looks like.

Nah it makes sense. Isis is Catwoman's pet cat and she helps her on her heists. So it makes sense that she'd have random contraband dropping from her, as gifts. Even if it's something crazy like a 30 foot statue XD.

I prefer it, too, because it means the item stays relevant for longer. I don't want Pumpkins in March or Skeletons in April. I'd rather get something unrelated to the seasonal from the seasonal rewards, personally.

Hmm.. interesting pov. I guess I can accept that. Makes me wonder though, what else she'll be dropping and if it's actually worth picking up. Was the item traceable/sellable... account bound, do you remember?

I can't remember, to be honest, but I'd imagine it is. I've checked the Broker, but there aren't any listings for it, so it's 50/50 at the moment. You might want to check the Broker on your server, if you are on the US servers, to see if anyone's selling them.

It's not tradeable, 250 cash, prestige 3. Looks much like something for the guildhall

You know that maggot filled cat doll? I got one of those from the Isis cat, but it was a tiny smaller version. I know there is an actual smaller version that was already in the game, but the one that I got is even smaller then that. It was called like "Small plush cat doll" or something like that.
