In celebration of both Superman's 80th Anniversary and the 1,000th issue of Action Comics, DCUO will be hosting a unique event/episode, free for all players, titled "Death of Superman".

Death of Superman is neither an event nor an episode. It's not time limited. It will be around for the lifespan of the game. It's not quite an episode, though, as there's no gear updates or anything of that nature. But it does come with all the flair of an episode with new styles, base items and other rewards.

The Death of Superman content will be divided up and released over 3 separate content released, with the first part scheduled for May 2018. Parts 2 and 3 will follow, adding new content and new rewards. This guide will encompass the entire Death of Superman update and therefore will contain a lot of empty space, as rewards are added.

In my opinion, the most similar experience I can think of is back in 2011 when Fortress of Solitude was released. The first raid was released in Game Update 4. The second part was released in Game Update 5. The final part was released in Game Update 6.

The storyline in Death of Superman takes inspiration from both the Death of Superman comic book story arc and Superman: Doom story.

"Main Man" Style

Inspired by Lobo

This is the main style available in Part 1 of the Death of Superman story line. It is unknown at this time if any additional styles will be added to the celebration. The style is sold as "Scourge" on the vendor, but the actual style name is "Main Man". Here are the costs:

Superman's 80th Emblem

Finally! The Superman Emblem is available for everyone to obtain for a limited time. You have until the 31st of December 2018 to purchase one off the Death of Superman Vendor for 150x Tribute.

The emblem only becomes visible once you've beaten either version of the Doomsday raid.

Collecting the Emblem will unlock the "Honorary El" feat, worth 10 feat points.

Base Items

The video above showcases brand new base items available for the first time as part of the Death of Superman. All of the featured base items are available from Part 1, with an unknown quantity of additional base items expected in parts 2 and 3.

The Base Items are available in 3 different categories: Metropolis Signs, Comic Book Cover Posters and Comic Stacks.

Metropolis Signs and Comic Posters

In Part 1, the Metropolis Signs are found inside special Base Item caches in the Death of Superman Rewards Vendor. In Part 2, players can acquire these base items from the Doomsday Raid. They share the same loot table as the Comic Book posters. You can acquire 2 versions of the base item caches:

• Large Death of Superman Base Item Box (Contains 10 Random Base Items) - 50x Tribute
• Small Death of Superman Base Item Box (Contains 1 Random Base Item) - 6x Tribute

The Comic Posters are mostly available in both Regular and Large format, with Large being more appropriate for a League Hall. There are currently no Regular versions of the Crisis #7, Death of Superman and World Without a Superman cover posters. These 3 items will be available exclusive to members in a future part of the content.

Comic Stacks
Another neat addition to the base items options are stacks of Comic books, with a specific, named comic book on the top of the stack. Each comic in the stack, despite not being entirely visible, appears to be a genuine comic book cover, mostly made up of covers used on previous poster base items. The top comic in each stack is new and relevant to the event, though.
Comic Stacks can be acquired in 2 ways:

• Purchased from the Rewards Vendor in a Comic Stack Cache.
• A reward for completing Ambush Bug's "The Lost Collection" Mission.

After completing The Lost Collection for Ambush Bug, he will send you all of base items for each of the comic stacks you found for him in Doomed Metropolis.
These same Comic Stacks are also found in the cache, together with all 9 Variant Covers of the Action Comics 1000 issue. The Action Comics 1000 Variants are exclusive to the Comic Cover cache.

Vendor Base Items

In addition to the base items dropping in both the content/base item reward boxes and the member's exclusive Treasure Boxes, there are also several base items available exclusively on the vendor for purchase with the Tribute currency. Here is some more information and look at what's available:

Superman Rubble Base Item
This special base item takes inspiration from the iconic cover of the Death of Superman comic, which is also featured on several of the base items included in this celebration. This base item is available directly off the Death of Superman vendor for 100x Tribute. Upon consuming, players will unlock the "Mourning a Hero" feat, a 2 star feat worth 25 feat points.

Superman Statue Replica
In memorial of the tragic passing of Superman, players can pay respect to the Man of Steel with their very own replica of the golden Superman Statue found in both Centennial Park and the Watchtower.

The statue is available in 2 sizes: Normal and Large. Normal is suitable for a player's lair. Large is better suited for League Halls, but will fit into certain spaces in a player's lair (Dive theme excluded).

The cost of both statues is:

• Superman Statue Replica - 50x Tribute
• League Hall Superman Statue Replica - 50x Tribute

The regular sized "Superman Statue Replica" is required as part of the "Metropolis Landmarks" 1 star/10 feat point feat. The League Hall Superman Statue Replica does NOT count towards this feat.

The Daily Planet Globe Replica
Players are now able to display the iconic Daily Planet globe sculpture in their bases and league halls. For over 7 years, players could only see this model from behind a Brainiac Bottle (... well unless you count the trinket of it that you can buy). Now it's available for your Daily Planet office themed lair or museum (or whatever you want!)

The Globe itself is animated and rotates slowly, much like the iconic versions you've seen on TV and in the movies.

The cost of this item is 50x Tribute. Collecting this item is also required to unlock the "Metropolis Landmarks" feat, a 10 point feat.

Superman vs Doomsday Poster
The epic keyart from the Death of Superman content of Superman and Doomsday squaring up to fight is available to obtain in game as a Base Item for your Lair or League Hall.

This item is available in both regular and League Hall sizes at a cost of 15x Tribute each. The League Hall version will fit onto some walls inside your lair, but looks much better on the walls of your League Hall.

There are no feats associated with this item. It is purely an optional extra.

Omegahedron Artifact

The Omegahedron Artifact is a new artifact introduced as part of the Death of Superman content. It is a guaranteed reward for completing the Death of Superman Part 1 Pointer Mission, guiding you through the event.

The Omegahedron Artifact grants players with the following stats:

• Health
• Power
• Might

At Rank 120, the Omegahedron will grant the following percentiles:

• 4% Power
• 2% Health
• 2% Might

The Bonus effect for this artifact is the "Energizing Aura*" ability. The description reads:

"Using a superpower in combat while between 25% and 75% Power increases your base Power Regeneration by (7.5%/10%) for 6 seconds."

*Note that the ability doesn't grant any form of visible Aura. It's just a name for the ability and nothing else.

This ability unlocks at Rank 80 and will offer you increased power regeneration of 7.5% when your power bar sits somewhere between 25% full and 75% full. When you upgrade the Artifact to Rank 120, this power regeneration buff will increase to 10%.

There is a feat for levelling up the artifact to Rank 20.

Ambush Bug's "The Lost Collection" Mission

The Lost Collection mission is a special bonus mission located in the Doomed Metropolis open world area. To get this mission, you must first find Ambush Bug who is located on the top of a building between the Hero and Villain spawn points.

The mission involves you roaming the Doomed Metropolis Map to find 9 different stacks of Comic Books from Ambush Bug's personal collection, featuring different key Superman stories throughout the past 80 years.

The following list details each of the Comic Stacks you are required to find as well as the timestamp for when they appear in my video:

Tori, is the Enhanced suit also applied in this part? Because i cant seem to find it?

Nah, the enhanced style isn't available yet. I believe on the first livestream they stated it'll be part of the Members reward box, which currently aren't available due to no instanced content. So we'll probably see it showing up in Parts 2 or 3.
