If all the negative people that threaten to leave for Destiny really leave it will be so nice in here...

...for a few weeks until they come back and start complaining again.

Ok well if your moving on to Destiny then go and leave us alone why write so much about a game you don't like anymore, why try to sour it for those that do like it? If you don't then get gone simple as that why try to ruin it for others? Your allowed a opinion but is it really worth it if all your going to do is spit venom and rag on ppl that like this game. You going to do the same thing when Destiny does something you don't like, or if it gets to easy for your taste? You complain about this being Dps centric yet your lauding a game where the main thing to do is shoot ****. Its a FPS for god sakes you don't see the irony in that? Anyway if your so disappointed in this game then leave and leave us player who don't have any beef with the game be.

Well, I definitely should've seen a response like that coming. 'Destiny' seems to be the new 'black' these days. :p

I've seen a lot that share your opinion, and I've seen a lot to share mine. The only person you can speak for is you, and the only one I can speak for is me.

As far as clipping goes, I'm pretty sure that the idea of jump clipping/canceling for the sake of front-loading damage was the unintended result that the Devs didn't want in the game. What I do know is that it's not the Devs that are not excluding roles in content, keeping controllers from doing more than give power, or keeping groups from running two tanks, or the many complaints that some of the player-base want to put on the Devs when they could be the ones that have the ability to rectify these issues immensely, if not totally. That much, I can be sure of.

By the way, why do these people who share your opinion have to play Destiny? Just asking. (No, that was not really a serious question. :p )

I know, right? Funny that. :p

All this crying about role exclusion its a simple fix DONT RUN IN GROUPS THAT EXCLUDE CERTAIN ROLES......YOU HAVE THE POWER!

Blaming the community for dps stacking when it's absolutely the devs fault? That's weird.

The community didn't give bosses/adds huge healthpools that hit like sissies. They didn't add wm which hits so hard that powers aren't needed as much and then decide to give support roles a power reduction cost when using wm which makes controllers not even need their power out except in raids. They didn't add enrage timers that wipe the group if the boss isn't killed fast enough. They didn't put stats in gear that give so much health, dominance, vit, and resto that only one of each if none at all are needed.

All of these encourage substituting support roles for more dps', all of which were implemented by the devs. The community only runs content the way the content is encouraged to do so. It is the fault of the devs.

Uuuuummmmmm...........when there are 4 roles in a game but only one is being catered to then there is a problem. What does shooting **** have anything to do with a dps role? It isn't a FPS, it's more of a free trial to start. If you like the game and wanna continue to advance, you will be spending some money.

None of my posts have tried to ruin it for others. I've given my opinion and some constructive criticism towards the game. I tried to state that the game mechanics aren't evolving and they need to do so to be able to compete with next-gen titles, that's a pretty good suggestion that tries to keep the game going. Keep telling people who have a problem with the game and would like the problem fixed to "get gone", that's exactly how to get players to support the game. Granted I have already made up my mind to leave, people like you have just ensured me of my decision.

Maybe youre right. Why should I continue posting suggestions and opinions on these forums when I don't play the game anymore? Number 1 rule of business: If you lose a customer you find out why and find out how to get them back if possible. All my posts are suggestions and ideas that would possibly get me to return to DCUO. I think I'll follow your advice though and justgive up on the game entirely without leaving myself open for future return. Another tank gone, I'm a dime a dozen though so who cares, right? I'm only needed for t6 raids and PW anyways so no harm, no foul. Peace out mofos

    ...

All those situations that you have pointed out could probably be done with 2 DPS, 2 controllers, 2 healers, and 2 tanks; I mean, if you want to ignore that, you're free to do so. Just because people want to go with 5 DPS doesn't make it something that the Devs planned. I could just as well say that the Devs put in enrage timers, larger health pools, and the like to truly test the ability of the 2 DPS these raids were designed for. Am I less right in thinking so? What makes my interpretation of the Devs' intent any more relevant as yours?

Personally speaking, while some of these concerns of role exclusion have merit, some do sound like players want to 'feel needed' when they have the ability to make their own groups and run content as they see fit. Your play should dictate that, but of course, some of the player-base have these nonsensical 'requirements' for groups that even they themselves might not be at.

I'm good with those calling for more varied content choices, but please, enough with the 'Devs made us run it this way'. If that's the case, then be the one that runs it against 'the Devs intention', if you think it's that bad.

Yup, you're right. Larger health pools and enrage timers absolutely encourage losing that dps and grabbing another tank instead. I can form my own group? Shout in LFG "LOOKING FOR ROLES FOR NECRO, 2-2-2-2 SETUP" and see how long it takes to form a raid. I've tried before, never found enough people to agree to that setup so I ran it the way the devs encouraged it to be run. I used to blame the community also until I realized that everything the devs are implementing encourages more burn and less support.

Sm was the only thing that went against the status quo, but it didn't have any progression to end-game, it's seasonal, and it's optional. So one piece of content that isn't even necessary encourages using more support roles while the rest of the game encourages the opposite. This isn't just pure opinion, this is opinion based on facts. Deny it if you will.

Only Nexus and Wave have enrage timers the new t6 does not

Yup, only T6 has bosses with seemingly infinite healthpools. Only everything has wm. Only T5 and T6 has gear with way too much support stats. The fact still remains.

There are some things I think you are uninformed about.

Budget cuts were the stated reason why these were no longer being done. I do wonder if it's cheaper to do in-game cinematics with the game assets than to have motion comics, like how we saw with The Huntress and Bizarro iconic anomalies.

I actually never found the motion comics to be able to fill in gaps to tell the overall story. They always came off to me as things that told biographical/motivational reasons for why the character was doing what they were doing. For me, it's always been the quests, the visuals, the in-game dialogue, the breifings/investigations and collection sets that have told the story.

It is sad when people loose their jobs. However, in the video game industry, hiring a large number of people to get the product out sooner and then, laying off because that number is no longer needed is a common thing. It's not out of left field to think of the video game industry as having a lot of temp contracting work.

Having limited time is also an issue.

Getting amenities the original way took a long time because of being rewards for collections. Not only were there a high number of pieces per collection, they, too, had rare pieces. Selling amenities was supposed to give people the option of grinding them out or buying them immediately. If it was really a desperate for cash move, wouldn't they have dropped the ability to collect the amenities through collections? It's not like it'd be hard for them to do that.

A lot of things sold as in-game assets in a game are this way. Many times, it's a new skin for something, like a weapon or a clothing piece. Sometimes, the item will have some in-game function outside of appearance.

Many people ask for in-game assets for their toon or base. Sometimes, it's a clothing piece off an npc. Sometimes, it's an environmental asset they want for their base. Some pieces are relatively easy to make available, like the base items, though I don't know how much an approval process is involved for base items. However, some are not as easy. For clothes, it's not that a piece is made and applied to an npc. It's part of the character model. There is also the approval process, however many people new things added for players have to go through first.

How does this translate into increasing the work force or increase the number of hours in a year? It's a fallacy to think that just because more money comes in, it's a guarantee the work force/budget has to increase. The increase in cash could have gone elsewhere: paying off debts, investments in future things, etc.

So, do you feel that there is ever a situation where the players of the community are the ones with the responsibility or is it always the development team to you?

This paragraph is not constructive to a discussion of who has what responsibility or if a feature of the game is good or what the game is designed around. Can we please keep it constructive?

It's because you are the deadliest in all of DCUO.

Who exactly is denying what? I'm not the one denying the community's culpability in role exclusion. Like you said, you tried to make the group in LFG and you were denied BY THE COMMUNITY, not the Devs. You would have every right to have this feeling if it was the Devs that said, 'Hey, you, stop trying to make people go 2-2-2-2.' Instead you were denied by the community of their own free will, with their own mentality.

I've never denied that the Devs could do things to make it more appealing, but you're the one denying that the community is the main culprit of many of the toxic situations present at this time. Even the post I quoted highlights that.

This so-called 'fact' you present is still an opinion. I'm not the one having a case of the 'denial-ysis'. :p
