I do not mind buying items in the MP.

I bought more then my share form the MP to support the game (Armories, Amenities, Teleporter. Legends, etc)

The thing with adding items to the MP... it does not seem to have that much of an impact no matter what they add to the MP.

When they added Replays to the MP.... did we see an increase in the content we were getting?? Not really.

People bought and used a truckload of them Replays..... so DCUO should have had lots of money available to improve the game. Should have had the budget to increase their Devs team... right???

    But No.

Pretty much the opposite happened. We kept on hearing how the Devs did the best they could with the small team that they had. And heck there even was layoffs meaning an even more smaller team for DCUO.

The same when the new PVP system was put into place and people used a truckload of replays to be T4 in one day.

Lots of money injected in DCUO at that time. Little to no positive impact to the game itself thanks to all that extra cash.

The same when we could purchase Amenities, Teleporters, etc.

Whenever fresh new money is injected into the game..... we see no real improvement in the game itself or the game performance for that matter.

It often feels like all that extra money injected into the game does is barely keep the game afloat.

Don't get me wrong.... I want to keep on playing DCUO for the next 10 years..... but I can't help but see a game that seems to still be struggling after 3 years no matter how much money at least some of us spend on the game.

Yeah. Ignore the folks who actually have the real data and trust some random dude on the forums who made some observations. Ok.

Seriously!! Knock it off with these threads. One hopes the company is actively looking at the future. Don't think that there hasn't been numerous meetings on the plans for the future, ideas that need to happen, plans that are in motion. Don't think that there hasn't been SERIOUS discussions on removal of the PS3 and the best plan to do so (timing, player base etc).

Fall TV season is going to start...is that the death of DCUO too?? Stop the madness with these threads!!

Now that is just crazy talk.

How could DCUO have the real Data..... he was blown to bits in Nemesis. Unless you mean that they have B4?? Which is a very flawed version of Data.

So how could we trust DCUO with a flawed Data??

That is crazy talk. ;) ;)

    But more seriously.......

The people with the real date do not give us the whole picture.
They do not HAVE too give us the whole picture.......But still.... it makes it hard to trust their data when they only share the data that is convenient for them.

So people are left with using the data that we DO know..... and do their best "guestimate" concerning the data that the Devs do not share with us.

1st part......I understand your reference! (Huge trekkie here.......even before there WERE trekkies!)

2nd part........though you have a point, if I were to trust anyone I would trust the ones who had the data regardless how much they shared then some dude who made some casual observations in game.

There are laws about false advertising and fraud. Though the company may very well be holding information, the information they DO give out, to me, can be trusted. Almost 4 years now. Game still going strong. They gave us encouraging numbers.

Yeah, I trust them more then some random dude on the forums regardless of what Tom-Bot says.

I do because you'd have to be dimwitted to believe anything the devs or SOE says. They claim this has been one of the most successful years with no numbers or statistics to prove it. Yet you call this fact? So I say it hasn't but since I'm a random forum poster it is an opinion?

DCUO is but a shadow of what it was but people continue putting faith in a dev team that is not fit to evolve the game to where it needs to be. A dlc is released every 3 months that gives you a chance to improve your cr by 2 and gives a few more feats to try and get. That is the basic gameplay and is the same year after year. Dps roles receive unending attention while content mechanics encourage subbing support roles for more burners. How long can a game survive by repeating the same pattern every year?

I know only a few people who play DCUO from dlc to dlc. Everyone else subs up when a dlc is released, collects the gear, gets the new feats, and then unsubs until the next dlc which takes a month or less to do so. With 4 dlcs a year, that is 4 months total sub time. I'm sorry but DCUO is not evolving the way it should be to continueously compete for the next 5 years or so.

The only thing that keeps the game going is that DC franchise. A franchise won't carry a game forever, it takes new and innovative gameplay to do that. If you enjoy the game then I hope it continues forever for you. As for me, I used to love this game more than any other game but the direction the devs have taken it, the rehashed content, the constant dps catering, the ridiculous difficulty, and the dull content has made the game comparable to Super Mario Bros imo. Happy gaming to you and I hope you enjoy the game for as long as it is around.

There are laws against false advertising, fraud, and for companies to give out false information.

Most of the folks I run with.....and this means several leagues......are, were, and will always be members.

The game is fully alive and well on my side. Sorry it's not on yours.

But your personal observations do not trump what the folks who have the real numbers are saying. I'll bet you a dollar for a donut that 3 years from now this very conversation will be still going on. Been here since launch. Others were before then. Same story every other month since then.

I've had more than a few old friends back from Final Fantasy as well.

Don't worry. We'll take you Destiny players back 3 months from now too. Because this game is not disappearing any time soon.

I hope you are right but can I have a donut anyways? DCUO has the potential to be the greatest game ever but anyone who plays the game can agree that there are some major problems with the game, the biggest one being the community (which has nothing to do with the devs though).

I'll agree with you that the game will probably be around for the next 3 years but unless the devs do something to drastically change the way we level or the game mechanics themselves I honestly don't see it lasting the next 5 years or so.

Now, enough debating, how about that donut....................................

Edit: I believe there are laws like these because some random guy on the forums said so. See what I did there, lol. I'm just screwing around, ignore me.

This is so convoluted that its insane, been playing almost 3 yrs, I own the disc played a month and stopped came back when battle for earth dropped, been playing ever since with a sub, should've stayed from the beginning but I was unwise to the ways of mmo's at the time;anyway I still see many ppl that were on back then on now. Hell last night was like a reunion of sorts in LFG there were some real OGs chatting. People may take breaks but most always come back. Don't let those who cry and complain on the forums fool you they are not the pulse or even remotely close to the consensus of the actual game. This game will die one day but it won't be destiny or the hundred other games that were going to kill so enough of the bs doom days crap.
And oh yeah Im going to believe the devs and SOE before I believe you or anyone else. Especially Tom Bot

Calling people dimwitted? Really? Honestly, it's hard to take your opinion seriously when you start calling people 'dimwitted'.

You know the people who are really catering to DPS? The people who are making these DPS-stacked groups. The content is what it is. If there was content that didn't required dropping enemies down to 0 existed, people would probably complain that it caters to non-DPS or whatever people feel like complaining about at that moment in time.

I'm pretty sure that this game has gotten this far by more than the DC franchise, or else it would've been long gone by now, considering that many games in the PS3 (and to a lesser extent, PS4) lifetime. (PC is a different story because so-called 'niche' titles tend to last longer because of a more 'hardcore' following.)

Comparing DCUO to Super Mario Bros.? I don't know if that was supposed to be an insult. Not many games have lasted as long as the Super Mario Bros franchise and some of the games in that franchise aren't as easy as you think they are. Don't let those cute faces fool you. :p

Sorry that you don't enjoy the game as you used to, but some of us enjoy the game as much as we did way back when, and we don't really need some complicated and complex scheme to group content mechanics to make this game worth it. Don't get me wrong, I'm personally not opposed to other schemes and strategies in group content, but if things were made more and more complex, do you actually think some of this player-base is patient enough to even include people in this content to help them through said content? I personally can see a few of the most vocal on these forums, but it sure isn't the majority in my opinion.

All the cries for challenge are just maddening, if you want a challenge go play sports or do something in the real world. This is a video game they are suppose to be fun and exciting not frustrating, now don't get me wrong if its a fun challenge then Im all for it but most these ppl crying for "Hard" stuff only want content they can beat with their "superior skills and leagues" so they can hang their ego high over everyone else when all we want to do is play and have fun and beat up hero scum-Im a Villain.

Did you believe them when they said clipping was an intended mechanic of the game? You don't have to take me serious but if you don't then there is no reason to reply with a 4 paragraph post. I'm just a random guy on the forums with an opinion but I'm not the only one who shares this opinion, just the same as you. Happy gaming to you and I hope you continuee to enjoy DPSUO as long as it remains. Destiny awaits those who share my opinion.
