DCUO, Dead by the end of next year?

Let me start off by saying I LOVE DCUO, one of the most time consuming (in a good way) games I've ever played. Invested just over 2 years into this game.

But, as of recently I've had this feeling that the game is becoming more of a chore than an experience to me. Of course I've taken breaks in the 2 years but it seems everytime I come back to the new dlc and max out my character again. I feel like quitting.

I'm not even excited for the next dlc because I already know, all it's going to be is a grind to max out my character than sit and wait for more dlc. Only thing that excited me in the future is the pvp changes and new powers/revamps.

In my honest *****opinion**** I don't see dcuo making it to 2016 unless something is changed. With the new generation of consoles I think games will become more advance and DCUO will feel more like a next gen game. With games like The Division, H1Z1, Day Z, Destiny, Planetside 2, I just don't see DCUO in the mix for the future.

I know I'm not the only person that feels this way, but I also already know since this is the DCUO forums I will get a bunch of hate, and that's fine. Feel free to disagree but that's just how I feel ATM.

DC just don't have the budget to compete with all those next gen games.

but were in a whole new generation of games that are advancing way past what i believe dcuo can do.

    thats the problem.

FYI, i want DCUO to succeed. But with the standard of games being raised they need to do something to raise the bar like they did in the last generation on consoles.

I don't think the game's in any trouble yet. In my opinion, the DC branding alone will carry this game for a long time. Plus the combat system is fairly unique, so they've got that going for them.As long as they can bring in a stead stream of new players, which they are apparently able to do, they should be fine for a while.

As I have said in other threads about this topic, I've been hearing DCUO is: doomed/dead/dying/etc. since the first 30 day free trial was up at game launch. I'm sure the Devs are doing their very best to make sure that this game is and will be doing great in years to come.
I've seen alot of these DCUO killers come out, and here we are still playing.
Spytle himself said that the state of the game right now is very bright, at the most recent SOE Live.
I might be naive, but I would go with what he is saying rather than what someone is saying on the forums/in game.
Most of the people that say that the game is dying/is dead are basing that on the fact that their friends/league aren't playing anymore.
Nevermind the fact that there are more people in the game than their circle of friends/acquintances.
I realise this game will not go on forever, but I intend to see it to the end.:p

The budget? Im pretty sure the game will be able to have "the budget" In the past year Dcuo has gotten 7 more million players which is amazing. If the game is to increase like it did in the last year the game will have the budget.

Yeah as of right now it should be very bright. One of the only games currently on the ps4 thats worth time and money. But what happens when more of the MMORPG games thats more expansive, more time consuming, more "fun" comes along. Then what?

I've been seeing threads like this for years too. Next year it's gonna be the same thing. Hate to break it to ya Chicken Little, but the sky is NOT falling. DCUO will be alright.

Knew i would get some hate, and its fine. Funny thing is i saw this exact thing with the City of Heroes.

People thought no way the game would die, its going to go on for years and years, then once Tech started advancing and the game didnt and better games came along like DCUO, it died. I was naive back then too and i dont want to see DCUO go down the same path, thats all.

7 million players for a F2P game means very little tbh. I have downloaded all the "free" games from the PS4 store, created my account and never played them again, and because I did that I count as a player for them, but doesn't mean I'm an active player. DCUO has no way 8 million active accounts, at least it doesn't have that feeling when you log in, tbh.

It's very simple to check how big a game is, YT, Twitch, FB, Twitter, and DC is very small compared to others. Heck, even the webpage is abandoned since 2 years ago, that should tell something.
