I thought the same way when I read the metal knights. I was disappointed with the hype surrounding it. I felt it was rushed and new, supposedly integral, elements of the story was bullied through DC lore. BUT, if you guys have not read the 7 part Batman Who Laughs; I would advise you to do so. It's not perfect but there are parts of it that is just horrifying to its core. It was almost like the first time I read Waid's Tower Of Babel in Justice League. It just literally changes what your idea of who and what Batman is capable.

I hope we get to visit an Underwater Gotham (Interiors, so no swimming) or a Murder Machine-enhanced Watchtower instance. Maybe a bat-influenced Speed Force instance. Plenty of potential with hybrid alternate universe evil Batmans to have instances that are hybrids representing both sides as well.
