Where the Hael were the JSA when the Germans were running around New York kidnapping scientists?
Really hoping that Rory or Sara call them out on that

Okay, what the frock is wrong with speaking German? That was the reason why Rory was in on the plan: because he didn't want to have to speak German?

So, did the actor playing Rip get fired or doing other work or something? Please, if they are going to end up with a new 'captain', it had better not be the new guy, but can't really see them taking 'orders' from the rest of the motley band of misfits either. But, who says they have to have a 'captain'?

Hmm, didn't some guy name Oppenheimer have more to do with the Atomic Bomb than that kraut Einie?
Speaking of, does anyone know who the actor was? He looked familiar, but older

You should record that with a deep raspy voice; finish it with "This and much more next week!" and send it to CW; should be great for episodic outros :D
  3. DarkVisor 15000 Post Club

They create a pink Hulk, with the aid of the SuperSerum, but Captain Haircut didn't comment on the Übermensch? Instead of saying how the "SuperSerum" was a 'bit on the nose', he could have said something like "You think you are Superman?" Oh right, Superman (and Batman) don't exist in their Universe

Oh yeah, and the Legends won't get blamed for Rex' death
  4. DarkVisor 15000 Post Club

Wait, even though Sarah admitted to being a killer, the dozy cow blamed the thief for Rex' death?

Speaking of Rory: he mugs a couple ninja and steals their jammies, but doesn't think to keep a souvenir? Where the Hael did animal girl get the throwing star from?

Oh, and ninja didn't wear the black jammies outside of the Kabuki Theatre (sorry Hollyweird haters, but the Japanese created that myth all on their own centuries ago) so they would have more likely been wearing normal serf-wear to blend in with the rest of the villagers, not swinging through the trees like a drunk Tarzan!
  5. DarkVisor 15000 Post Club

More Yankee and black propaganda in this episode than room to swing a knobkerrie! So will ignore all that rubbish

Why didn't they warn the Confederates? Zombies aren't discriminant towards whom they eat, as long as they have brains (which rules out half of the US judging by the current elections :p), they are also not damn moths and are not attracted to light (as more than a few of the Yankees found out when they still got eaten after the lights were doused)

Great nod to the classic "Miami Vice" :D

If the JSA's secret training facility was set up in the 40's, how did it have an electronic keypad? And because they lost two members, the entire Society disbanded? Leaving behind just one old guy to watch over an abandoned building? o_O

What does Rory have against the music from the 80's? At least it was two decades before Bieber and 'create-your-own-music' that is smelling up the airwaves of today

Brace for impact! Incoming reaction to the final crossover episode

Oooo, the promo shows Captain Steel's new gear, the helmet looks cool! But, how much eyeliner do they have to go through to blacken the area around the eyes? Not just with Captain Steel (wait, is he calling himself "Captain Steel" or just "Steel" or what?) but with every one who wears a helmet or mask

Stein got his voiceover wrong: it should have been "Previously on Supergirl, Flash and Arrow" :p
    Stein had one job!

Seriously Vibrator Girl? It's wrong for Bazza to time travel to save someone he loves (his mother!), but it's okay for you just joyride through time? And newsflash (get it? :p), but your brother was a bit of an idiot before Flushpoint and got himself into plenty of trouble before, him getting killed has nothing to do with Bazza, so step off little girl

Okay, guessing that really was the real Pres last seen on Flash, does this mean the alien Wonder Woman is President on this earth as well? o_O

So, because Oxenfree is unnerved by the existence of aliens, he wants Soupdish to support him by standing back and not take part? Who knew that Oxenfree was a bigot

So, will Steinerheimer ever tell the new girl he has no memories of her? And will Vibrator Girl blame that on Bazza? Stay tuned true believers!

Seriously? They are walking, how did Miss Animal Spirit-guides miss the giant flying alien ship twenty metres to their right?

Really hoping Steinerheimer catches a clue and doesn't do what he threatened to do

Yeah, haven't met a Government suit who wasn't an arzehole

Congratulations VibeGirl, you just had a Personal Growth Moment (PGM), if you were on "TWD" you would be dead in five minutes or less

Wait, VeeGee didn't tell Bazza about his little chat with Dom, and how they plan on putting an end to all Metas, not just Bazza?

EEEEEEEE! Flicka said it!! She said that Soupcan line!!! Finally someone said it and they said it not on Soupdish's show!!!! :squee:

Heh heh, that comment between Sara and Mick about Ms Pres is hilarious :D
Not to mention Ray's line afterwards :D
But Flicka is correct, Kara Danvers does look like a brunette Flicka

Okay, this totally sounds like the beginnings of an official Government sanctioned JLA: first they get commendations from the new President, and now Soupdish talking about how they are as strong as her and Kal-El, at the least, Oxenfree can step out of the shadows and not be hunted by the SCPD

    Mick flirting with Kara? PRICELESS!!

Well, the crossover event is over and to be honest it was just okay. I like each of shows respectfully, but the whole HEROES VS ALIENS event was anticlimactic. Don't get me wrong they went all out on the special effects but the tv budget hurts the so called invasion. Also, I kept thinking how much leather was used to dress everyone up, lol. And Commander Steel's costume looked.....let's remember the musical episodes are just around the corner

I think the musical episodes are just flash and supergirl, I could be mistaken.

Oh and if I'm accurate that's because two members of flash and one of supergirl actually can sing (that I know of)
  11. aurorabenz07 Loyal Player

Lol, yeah because Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist were on the GLEE tv show but actually a few actors from Flash, Supergirl, and Legends actually have experience in musicals too. However, Stephen Amell when asked if Arrow would do the same said
  12. Wiccan026 Loyal Player

I know the guy who plays Joe West does (that's why I got such a big kick when he was a singer on Earth 2, would have preferred if he didn't die though).

I have no clue who else other than the few I mentioned were involved with musicals, hmmm to look up or not to look up.

The bright thing about the musical episodes is: musical episoded usually signalize the end of the show within the same or the next season. And especially looking at Supergirl and Flash, I'd ne happy they fold after this season - too much focus on the ret....dacted teenage drama BS, total waste of Flashpoint up to now. Flash was probably the best prepared show when it came to details etc. they had, but they really wore it down.

Legends on the other hand sucked big time in detail work in the early episodes - inconsistent take on time changes/travel so it can be used as a plot device to cover any sloppy piece of writing, the translator pills are first introduced in Russia while a complete episode before that took place in Germany, and the big back capitalist German bank was on top placed in Leipzig, which was in the 1970ies part of the not so capitalist German Democratic Republic.... that early writing wasn't even good enough for a show done by amateurs for their local 20 viewer village tv station. And the latest crossover wasn't really that much of an event, and too large part due to Arrow having to celebrate their number 100 every-one-must-be-back-on-the-screen episode in the middle of it, really cut down on the pace.

BTW - who was under the Deathstroke mask in that episode? IMDB credits Manu Bennett but fighting, stance, everything about it said stand-in; besides, if he really would have been around, they would have shown his face, no?

Anyways, I wish they'd stop the crossovers so I could stop with the Soupcan and "Barry needs another motivationla speech" shows without maybe running into episodes of Arrow and Legends asking myself "now when did that happen?".

And besides: There is an alien invasion and the two Hawks who were dropped off in 2016 IIRC and do not show up for the battle? Where was 2016 Vixen - eradicated by her precessor entering a time ship? And wasn't Pied Piper one of the good guys now and happy to help due to one of Barry's previous time crashes? Or is that gone again with that lame disappointment they dare to call Flashpoint? Isn't "Alien Invasion" an all hands on deck scenario? Katana? Nyssa? I sense sloppy writing all over this :D

It's really sad to see that the only show that improved with the current season is Legends, but maybe it was the easiest for them because they started soooo sloppy.

    Best seasons:
    Arrow - Season 3
Legends - Season 2 (up to now)
    Flash - Season 1
Supergirl - none, they don't have a good season yet. Only perk that show offers is showing live action versions of great characters (mostly villains) form the Superman comics first....

I really considered that lampshading their lapse from season 1.

You can't really expect too much out of the TV shows to be honest. Their low budget and having to cater to public television is what kills their potential and in my opinion, why the Marvel Netflix shows are superior (especially Daredevil).

After I lowered my expectations for the dc shows I began to enjoy them more. Yes they're filled with plot holes and bad script writing, but trying to squeeze so much into one season with a very limited budget will do that. Do I think they're the best TV shows out there? Not even close, but I think they do a decent job for what they have to work with.

That said I disagree with your bottom portion as well lol. I thought the first season of Supergirl was pretty good, I'm actually having a hard time really enjoying the second season, the lesbain romance seems forced and there to simply add on plot. I also think season 2 of Arrow was the best (season 5 so far is proving to be a worthy contender, so my mind may change next year). I agree season 3 of Flash is focusing too much on the emotional drama, and I'm getting a little fed up with these "I'm pissed off cause you kept a secret from me so I'm going to have an emotional break down at the very wrong time" situations and wished the writers used other methods to build a plot. I'm in full agreeance with everything you said about legends though. Season 1 started out VERY sloppy, but season 2 looks very promising.

At least some points we can agree on, and Arrows second season is close second on my list; one of the points making the third the better one for me was its preparation in its precessor season - the league of assassins just felt better embedded as the next story step than the Deathstroke/Mirakuru thing was in prepared in season 1. Can't agree on Supergirl - too much drama and motivational speeches from the start, especially the "Calista Flockhart explains the real world to Kara Danvers and all the little millenial teenagers out there" weekly feature was too much.

And also I can't agree on reducing bad writing to a budget problem. Bad writing is in the first place a problem of limited creativity, and that's something you cannot really buy. And of course I will not follow the "lower your expectations"-approach. I call out bad prodcuts for being of sub-par quality. You wouldn't lower your expectations towards the brakes of your car either, and it wouldn't really help you dealing with non-functional brakes on the highway either if you did ;)

    SPOILERS FOR DC TV UNIVERSE!

Please please please, somone tell me that having the Spear of Destiny as the big McGuffin in this season means that Constantine is back, at least as a guest star (preferably CW got the deal to buy the show fixed....)

Tendency stays the same: Legends is currently beating the other DC shows in appeal. I'm not even interested in how they explain Laurel being back in Arrow, nor how the guy that should be gone forever is killing Iris in Flash (as long as he actually kills her, no backing off please!) since he practically told them already. But the Spear of Destiny? That's something 'pointing' in the right direction :D

Cereally? Dip Hunter gave up being a Time Enforcer, to be a movie director in the 60's? o_O

She'll be back, she came back in the comics and that fact ties rather heavily into the backstory of Bart Allen so it makes sense to retain it.
