Your 2 point are completely different. I can miss 3 years of dcuo and still get caught back up quickly too. Last a certain point sp isn’t as impactful. They also do enough double nth weeks so that if the meta changes I can change my set up with little hassle (if metas is all I care about). The biggest hassle would be TCs but guess what, I actually took a break for a few years and was missing a lot of TC feats. Yet I was able to get them all.

Every I listed can be done by every single player if they truly wanted to get those feats. Why are people not selling residues right now that the new dlc is out. Or catalyst? Why are people not farming the seasonal to sell seasonal base items? There are many ways to make money to get older TC feats. It’s not a big secret.

XIV...hmm.. do you mean Final Fantasy XIV?

These games do not have a full free to play model, like DCUO does; F2P games have to charge for more things than a traditional MMO does, simply because they do not make the money off of the membership, episodes or the base game itself. DCUO lets you play the entire game without having to purchase any episodes and you get daily log in rewards, whether or not you subscribe. Daybreak is a smaller game studio than the game studios of the games you have mentioned.

ESO (Bethesda/Zenimax): you have to buy the game in order to play it. You also have to buy each expansion or expansion bundles.
WoW(Blizzard): you can play for free until level 20 (limited amount of character slots), after that you have to subscribe; the latest expansion must be purchased (unless they have a free trial period going on.)
FFXIV(Square Enix): never had a free to play model and never will; you have to buy the game AND have a monthly subscription in order to play.

All 3 games have their own in-game store and real money marketplace. All of these games also have a level gate for their end game content AND you have to buy that content in order to play it. So, these games don't HAVE to "nickel and dime" your wallet; they get your money before you can start playing (for the most part) and continue to get your money from your monthly upkeep (subscription).

No matter how you slice it, money is needed to develop and run any game, especially an MMO. Game companies can choose how they want to collect that money to keep things running. Consumers can choose how much or how little they want to spend on an online/MMO game.

Back when the wonderverse bosses were being made I brought up concerns of being forced to grind for feats which could kill the game for many players. They went ahead with it and when they brought it back for legion they made the grind easier(ish).

My original statement was that they should make these open world bosses be something we want to farm instead of something we HAVE to farm. I brought up adding some rewards to the vendor associated with that dlc currency that is of some value to encourage us to farm them. I know that I will be going back to Dakota to do those bosses to continue getting stabilizers. If they bring back this system then they may be encouraged to do this system if they see players continue to return for said rewards.

To add to this: DCUO is already incredibly generous with character/account upgrades and slots. Far more monetized and abusive games(such as those developed by Cryptic/Perfect World Entertainment) force you to upgrade inventory in a PER CHARACTER basis. 10+ characters you want to max inventory on? Be ready to spend hundreds if not thousands. Meanwhile the majority of DCUO's upgrades and slots are account-wide, so once your inventory and bank are maxed on one character, they're maxed on all characters. But that also means they generate a lot less revenue from these purchases. So they have to make up for it with consumables and boxes, ergo time capsules/stabilizers, booster bundles, and artifact-related consumables, combined with the entirely optional subscriptions are effectively the main revenue streams keeping the game running. And since the subscriptions are company-wide and also fund Everquest 1 and 2, Planetside 2, and H1Z1, DCUO doesn't even receive the entirety of funding from Daybreak subscriptions.

    Was I disagreeing with you?

If putting them there to make OW bounties look more attractive, or just cause they want us to be able to get some extra stabilizers...whatever. Honestly I can't believe that I'll be doing the bounties once this DLC is a year old, but I might go down with some of my thousands of SM once the episode hits EEG and they add a 2nd currency conversion (as they did in WV and LLL) which SHOULD put the price of the stabilizers at about 50 SM each. If that's the case, I'll get one every week for sure....but nothing would make me WANT to farm these open world bosses.

All we can focus on is the tools presently given to us. In the past, Stablizers were never an option to be purchased through a vendor outside of the marketplace and recently with the Dr. Fate vendor when HOL was released. As such, one can assume this may or may not be a practice moving forward as it is a new practice, but there is certainly no reason to not take advantage of it now.

    1. I have a couple friends that are the 16 toons, or 32 across two platforms, farming seasonals on every toon type players. I can promise you those type of players aren’t spending a ******* dime on this game beyond the sub lol. They’ve figured out how to hoard and how to squeeze every single item out of the game without spending money. It takes an unnatural amount of patience and frugality to play this way.

    2. Free stabs is free stabs. Why complain about it.

    3. Whoever answered “because the game is down right now” owes me a coffee cuz I spit mine out

    4. It could be 10 free stabs a week and I still wouldn’t run them bounties kma

    5. For all of you saying “I have all the tc feats and never spent a dime” I would be willing to bet that you each have an incredible amount of in game cash that you got because of the multiple cash and dupe glitches plaguing this games history. I’m not saying you specifically duped cash or items, but let’s be honest some of you definitely did, but you have still benefited from it by making billions of in game cash that should have never been in the economy to begin with. So how easy do you think a new player without billions could ever possibly hope to achieve the same? Using that argument in a debate that you got them all for free so someone else could is the equivalent of a trust fund baby telling a broke dude to pull himself up by his bootstraps lmao.

The other elephant in the room that nobody seems to talk about is buying cash from gold sellers. But just like glitching, criminals know better than to self-incriminate in public.

What are you willing to lose....I mean 'bet'.

Now you could argue that yes....SOME of the money is due to the fact that the duped money exists in game. That is a fact for everyone. But duping it myself...or buying from a seller....or taking advantage of the INSANE trade prices that were going on at the worst of it? No...you lose that bet. I was offered 50B for one of my cosmic materials (which I bought for 20M each when 'current' and sat on for 6+ years). I held on to it because I figured they'd do something to wipe the cash and I'd rather have the item than the funny money if it were going to be deleted. Honestly if I knew they were going to cap people out at 22B, I might have done the sale:rolleyes: ....but alas, I didn't. Most I've ever held was around 3-4B....some of which was taken by the 'tax' they did, the rest has been spent many times over, then regained, and that was from selling items at mostly 1-50M. Granted, those prices ARE inflated due ot the wonky economy, but you could sell the same items and make the same money. The new player can too. I think right now I'm sitting at about 300M...when the next TC comes out I'll hustle to get what I need from it. No trust fund needed...no exploits needed.

Well I would have been real surprised had someone tagged me and been like, “yea you right I got 50 bill from cash glitches” lol. I’m not saying it’s impossible, I already stated I have a few friends in league that play this game very differently than the vast majority. So I absolutely believe you if you say you personally got everything on the up and up. After years on interaction with you on the forums I don’t have any reason to mistrust you. That same level of trust doesn’t extend to every player claiming the same thing as you though. While I may lose that bet with you buddy, I think I would still come out ahead in many other instances lol.

Stop giving away my secrets lol. I took 5 years off, stopped playing when capsules were first introduced. I came back in October (although I did play for 2 months a couple years as well), and now I am so close to finishing all capsule feats except for the theme styles. I did not spend any irl money to do it either lol. I don't sell residues or catalysts though, interesting concept. I'm not sure what residues are. However, I did make like 300 mil off bleed chroma/material styles.

I have a few other ideas to farm money as well. I estimate I've made and spent 2 billion since October. I'm down to my last 70 mil, but hey, at least all my feats are almost done and I'm nearing 700 sp now despite 5 yrs off.

It was the use of the word 'each' there.....made it inclusive of everyone. And yeah, I guarantee I play the game differently than many.

I'd 100% agree that some exactly fit the bill of being able to buy the TC items only because of 'illicit' means....That still doesn't mean everyone has done that. I know for a fact I didn't...but I'd guess there are a handful more 'honest' TC/broker grinders as well.

To be honest, I don’t care about the TC ... something else amuses me ... people say :"that I got everything from the TC for free .. I saved up everything I needed on the broker" ... but on the broker they appeared from where? the easter bunny put them there? or santa claus? at the chance at which rare collections fall... so that at least some significant part of the players can buy them on a broker ... someone should buy stabilizers for real money or bots on hundreds of free accs should farm stabilizers constantly ... well, or Easter bunnies fill the broker ...lol...
  19. Reinheld Devil's Advocate

That shouldn't matter though. If someone with mom's credit card buys 20k worth of stabilizers and floods the broker...or if it's the Easter Bunny....legions of bot stabilizer 'farmers'....or if some dev goes in on occasion and spawns some of the 'top' items to sell them on the broker to atone for helping to create TCs in the first place...or if it's voodoo. The buyer doesn't have any say in that....No mater how they get there....they ARE there and anyone can buy off the broker (well...not F2P) now that cash is uncapped.

Personally I'd guess there are a good handful of whales to buy the lions share of Stabilziers/TCs with IRL money. But Easter bunny is just as possible.

Do you know? to hell with it with real money ... I probably didn’t explain it well ... so that everyone can use the advice "buy the right Easter bunny egg at the broker" these eggs on the broker must be present in sufficient quantities ... with the chance that there is in the TC. ..this amount can only be available if a lot of people are regularly spent on stabilizers, or bots ... or easter bunnies give their own ...
