Daybreak Bring back the option to earn Stabilizers via Episode 45

The main drivers of US inflation, though, in 1979 were energy and homeownership costs with some attributing it to factors such as psychology and/or past monetary policy. It wasn't minimum wage which, in the US on the federal level, went from $ 2.85 to $ 3.10 per hour from 1978 to 1980. 1979 isn't relevant for minimum wage.

The only way minimum wage is going to cause inflation is if enough of the population is working at minimum wage that increasing minimum wage will affect a significant amount of the money supply in question. That's only seen in very underdeveloped countries. Alternatively, if minimum wage were raised from $ 7.25 to, say, $ 50 per hour, that would cause inflation as the median wage in the US is not $ 50 per hour.

Or, to put it another way, if my costs are $ 200,000 per month and a minimum wage increase causes my costs to rise by $ 5,000 per month I only need to raise prices enough to cover the extra $ 5,000 per month. For industries that are heavily reliant on minimum wage their prices will increase but if that's significant enough to cause a large rise in inflation that economy is extremely unhealthy to begin with.

Inflation is already existing. Never said it was the root cause, much like it wasn't the root cause in 1979 either...however, the federal minimums were raised to adjust to it, much like it is being pushed by the current administration and outside influencers. For better or worse, it isn't going to fix the issue except solidify a standard in pricing. Can't tell me even at a small percentage that businesses won't use that as a way to keep prices from dropping once everything levels off as they have in the past on a lower scale. They are already used to that standard of income.

In other words, what we have witnessed in the last nearly 4 years was a back door tax hike through change in policy that we will now have to live with unless there is some sort of legislation put in place, which will never be passed by either party because of the amount of money being made off of the chaos...Raising minimums extrapolates and/or will compound the issue.
  3. RoyceGlas New Player

That's my point. It WOULD be cheaper to buy them so it wouldn't even hurt Daybreak to keep it because the worst case senerio is that some players will play an extra hour per character to avoid paying, but if folks are going that much out of their way to avoid spending a few bucks chances are they aren't likely to spend money in the first place.
  4. RoyceGlas New Player

The whole point is to give players the ability to earn Stabilizers.

I personally think Lootboxes are unregulated gambling and if real money can be used to purchase them it should be treated the same as any other form of gambling.

Do I think people would unlock 16 stabilizers every week? Not really, but plenty of folks who already farm on alts for the face/chest upgrade items would do it.
  5. RoyceGlas New Player

The fact that there are rewards that have LESS than a 1% chance will always make lootboxes/time capsules a money grab. It's unregulated gambling. The only difference between a casino and Lootboxes is that when people say "The house always wins" you can still walk away with money in your pocket when you leave a casino; lootboxes circumvented the need to ever lose anything of monitary value.

What makes matters worse is the quarks system is overpriced, affected by rng, and never up to date. Assuming you get 10 quarks every time you open a time capsule, it can cost you up to $512, not including tax, for one of the top priced materials PER CHARACTER, and you have to wait 3+ months for the vendor to add more up to date time cap rewards.

Notwithstanding the RNG, which is always a gamble ..even when spending replays, there are more free opportunities to take a bite at the apple than there were before concerning timecaps added with the cost of membership.
  7. Dev72 Dedicated Player

In addition to my post above, the daily award system(which also provides quarks) provides currency to purchase quarks from the Doctor Fate vendor, therefore, removing RNG completely....With patience, that sought after item can be purchased without even opening a single TC or touching trade and/or broker. So we can't pretend that the "paywall" previously existed (outside of the monthly membership which cost has remained static in the U.S.) hasn't been torn down or at minimum not made into a small hurdle that can be cleared over time.
  8. RoyceGlas New Player

Yep, it's true, a player can circumvent time capsules entirely by logging in 21 days every month for 1 year and 5 months (or 5 years and 8 months for non members) and buy a single top priced (5120) material assuming they never use their destiny tokens on anything silly like... Seals of completion?

Oh wait those 10% chance breakthroughs kinda require those...

At least you can earn them from gameplay...

Oh they are only in the Dr Fate vendor and market place?

Fine, then we'll just settle for farming the seals of preservation...

Oh they're locked behind the vendor and market as well? Hmmm almost seems like Daybreak created the problem to sell the solution.
  9. DeitySupreme Unwavering Player

    Umm.. your delusions are showing.

Anything that can be bought from the booster vendor can be bought with quarks. You can get quarks with source marks. So if you really want some items you can always farm SMs for quarks. You also have the option in getting them during the discount week. Plus you get stabilizer fragments from the daily log in, 1 stabilizer a week from the fate vendor and now 1 from the secondary vendor in the new dlc. If you actually save your stabilizer you can easily by the minimum requirement for the TC opening feat. You can also farm things to sell on the broker to make some money to buy things when a new TC is released.

Your whole rant would make sense if the only way one could get those feats were through opening TCs. But that’s not how it works.
  10. Dev72 Dedicated Player

Interesting take. Both quarks and seals can be purchased from Dr. Fate vendor. Quarks can also be purchased with source marks that can be also purchased through the Dr. Fate vendor as well as in the vendor in Dakota City, which all that requires is some time beating bounties through just 2 rounds. Therefore, EEG is only an option. Now if your whole complaint is...."But I want it now"...well then...that sounds like a personal problem of instant self-gratification.

One of the most depressing things is how you all feel these days that every single thing on the game should cost money. If you think giving someone an option to farm something "Like Most MMOS do" makes a player cheap then you are truly lost, this is purely greed. The idea that the game has to sell almost everything to operate is one of the most foolish notions I have ever seen in a MMO to date. You already have reply badges, time caps, respec tokens, an optional monthly sub. Theres a reason Eso, WoW and Xiv are just better made games they don't nickel and dime you out of everything just to play the game.

    Oh my the goodness...

The math I did was in regards to what I quoted in the post... Which was how long it would take with only the Dr fate Destiny Tokens given by Dr. Fate.

They literally wrote *without even opening a single tc"
  13. OGMyDpsIsBetter Active Player

The sheer amount of cap in this post is amazing, by the time you would be accepted into any legit groups "Elite raids" coming into the game would be timeless. For starters to level up 3 200 arts without spending any money would take over a year, no player coming into any mmo in todays market would put that amount of meaningless grind into a game until they can enjoy its content to the fullest such as the elite raids.
Second you completely ignored the fact that most players especially new ones use source marks as a form of progression,
Base upkeep, style feats, and more needs to use of source marks so not only do new players need to use those marks on the arts but also progression as well.
I make good money so I can afford it but so say the system is not behind a paywall is comical.

Did you even read the damn post that you quoted? I CLEARLY wrote that it's only available from the Dr Fate vendor and Market place multiple times! I also clearly wrote how long it would take with only the Log in Rewards. Also, no, The Dakota vendor sells a single stabilizer per week, not quarks.

Not only do you not even remember that you mentioned "without ever opening a time capsule" but you don't even remember what the entire thread is about, which is STABILIZERS TO OPEN TIME CAPSULES.

There is no way you're not shilling for this company. Imagine thinking being able to earn Stabilizers is a bad thing.

I'm done with this thread. I can't even...
  15. DeitySupreme Unwavering Player

Sorry but what? You can farm for pretty much everything in the game.

    Nth/favor? You can farm
    SMs? You can farm
    Quarks? Yes, through SMs

The only times I’ve spent money recently have been for luxury items. Haven’t spent a penny on arts or allies in years (not a single penny on allies at all actually). I also completed all TC feats without spending $1000s on stabilizers. Just open using the ones you’re given and farm in game cash for anything missing. I then use the membership currency to buy seals. Not sure why so many find things like this to be so difficult.
  16. DeitySupreme Unwavering Player

And when or why would someone only get things with destiny tokens instead of using everything the game offers you? The same can be said about anything to make things look worse than they are.
  17. Dev72 Dedicated Player

Awww.. no need to get all triggered and blow a gasket..It's bad for your health. Your original post said that the quarks vendor is overpriced, and TCs are under regulated form of gambling through RNG. Although I agree, I provided that to offset that, quarks can be purchased through simply playing the game, and logging in on a daily basis without opening an single time capsule or interacting in trade chat or the broker. Further, if you want to play the RNG game, stabilizers can be purchased with marks(provided both daily and weekly) or grinded for and are provided in daily awards as well. Let's not pretend that the current format isn't by far and away way better than the paywall restrictions that were in place before.
  18. Reinheld Devil's Advocate

I don't think anyone is defending that they should only cost money, but they already give us free stabilizers....some additional ones were just added in Dakota city on top of the ones from Dr Fate, from daily grants and from the occasional stabilizer run week. Who knows, maybe it will be a thing in DLC vendors going forward so that we'll end up being able to get 2, 3 ,4 or more from vendors as we get new DLCs.

'Greed' is getting something you wanted....which was free stabilizers....then saying 'oh....well that's not enough....give us MORE'.

Personally I've got all the TC feats to date and haven't paid a dime (or nickel even) for a stabilizer since maybe the 2nd TC was out. I had all of them before Dr Fate was selling one, and well before Dakota city. I now get 2 extra free ones a week. Thanks DI for the extra 104 stabilizers a year. Now...if we can talk about that <1% drop rate...THAT is a topic.

This thread is so silly in the first place. There was an error in the code....Some people were able to buy up to as many stabilizers as they had toons....they fixed the error in the code so now you can buy 1 a week as intended. Might as well make a thread asking for them to bring back the cash glitch or .01 cent Aquaman bundles that rewarded way more stabilizers for that dime.
  19. OGMyDpsIsBetter Active Player

For the simple fact your current with the game, this game isn't attracting mass new players or returning players most of them are fully aware of the amount of money needed to get back into the game at a high level in a decent amount of time. That same fear isn't in say Eso, I can miss 3 years of eso they can introduce an entire feature like Artifacts and I knew for a fact I can hop back in only pay for the dlc and monthly sub grind the needs requirements for said items in a normal mmo time frame.
  20. Dev72 Dedicated Player

Ok, you are adding context to what I posted...Never said "leveling 3 200 arts", I said "an artifact". Further, simply waiting for double art XP, and not blowing through your metal, and logging in daily removes the need to spend SMs on seals removes the necessity of spending tons of money to do it. Catalysts also drop in gameplay as well...so, it is entirely possible to do just that. As I said before, I have banks and inventories 7 rows deep full of metal..all it takes is some patience and gameplay. Whether you want to accept that or not,..is your problem..not mine, or anyone elses. I don't have anything to prove to you or anyone else, but before they dropped the daily rewards, I spent $80 leveling up 6 to 200 just using that formula...so, you can call me a liar all you wish...but, from MY(not yours or anyone else's) experience..it can be done.
