Critical Chance/magnitude In Pvp Arenas

    With the new pvp gear coming out and each player having 8k plus health i think it would be best if the crit caps in pvp were lifted. With 8k+ health that is going to make it extremely hard to heal your teammates in pvp. When the crits were capped in arenas sorcery healers suffered the most as we do now, if the caps were lifted then we would have a much easier time healing our group mates. If would also liven up pvp because since the dps would be able to crit higher we would be all have to work much harder. 8k health is too much when you only get crits 1/3 of the time, even when you're fully specced into your role. My non-crit heals are from 7-850, my crits are from 12-1500 whenever i crit. The 8k+ health is on DPS gear, and seeing as healers and tanks have the most health on their gear, healers/tanks might have up to 10k health that need to be healed.


    I would like to know what you guys think about the extremely high health in the upcoming pvp gear, and how it's going to affect pvp. Will it slow it down, or will it feel the same. Leave your thoughts below.

    I don't think we need increased criticals, the increase we'll get from our core stats on the gear should be enough to keep up. Not to mention any buffs you get from trinkets and sodas. If healers could crit for like 3K in the arenas on a regular basis, there'd be no point in fighting against us.

    Not increased criticals, just the criticals that we had BEFORE, they reduced our critical chance/magnitude in arenas.

    Got to remember that while Health is going up, Might/Precision is going up as well. Plus don't forget that we are getting 151's to.

    Yes, but even if pvp feels as it does now, it would still feel stale. Removing the crit reductions in arenas would add more challenge to competitive pvp, and liven it up. Instead of 50 - 0 matches we might have 750 - 500 or 1000 - 950 matches.

    Does anyone know how much crits were reduced in the first place? Having some numbers would give a better picture but at this point I do prefer a return to how crits were before. I mean even dueling in full punchline/vengeance gear feels like it takes a while.

    Crits could get pretty crazy... Watch an old video of Wolf form back then, Nature Wolf form gives Crit % and damage for each kill, then add on Carnage... Wolf users were critting nearly every hit xd

    I'd say not to add them in... Only because people will have extremely high stats also, the extra 9k HP and 400 Toughness isn't going to even seem like any difference most likely. This is all just speculation now but we'll see when it's live I guess.

    My concern is that if they revert our criticals back to what they used to be, would we see a resurgence of glass cannons via pve gear in arenas? With the higher stats for both damage and healing, plus the lack of a proper handicap to criticals, toughness could be rendered nearly irrelevant...

    Not even close, because if you were to glass canon, vs skilled players with 10k health and pve gear gives less than half of that you stand no chance. Reverting the criticals back to how they were in the past would cancel out people trying to glass canon. If they were to revert, players who were pve gear would get destroyed even worse in arenas if they tried to glass canon seeing as pve gear for dps only gives around 3 1/2 thousand health, which is just over a third of the health you get from the coming pvp gear. Everyone would have their criticals back, which means dps in pvp gear would obliterate players wearing pve gear. Sure a glass canon might be able to put in a bit of damage but not enough to matter before a good team realises how squishy they are and focuses them until they put on pve gear.

    Good point, I hadn't really considered the dramatic difference in health between the pve and pvp gear. I guess as a healer I never really have time to appreciate it because everyone's always trying to murder me in pvp...lol

    I really like this idea... having players get that much health will most likely make slow matches even slower(yes the devs made that possible) even with boosted dps stats having crits capped doesn't help anyone.

    However maybe the crits should only be capped up to a certain pvp cr?
