Could use advice on Sorcery dps as a casual player.

Hello, my apologies for being a bother, but I'm kinda having a dilemma and could use some advice. For a while I have been trying to play as a pet focused Sorcery and while the damage has been great, it has been visually boring and overall I just can't find enjoyment in this playstyle as I once had thought and I'm looking to try and find something that I'll find a bit more fun. At this point, as long as I am not a hinderance to a group and lag way behind, I'm ok with not being top dps since constantly chasing meta stuff just keeps ending up triggering my anxiety and makes me constantly swapping powers and arts to the point that I am just not having fun and with having learned in the past couple months that I am autistic, I have been looking to try and reduce stressors and focus on just having fun instead of doing things that just end up with me having a meltdown and potentially harming me mentally.

I've been looking at numerous guides on Youtube as well as posts on reddit and came across two video guides and just need advice on which to follow. The first video is a no pet Sorcery guide by Woolie Gaming.

I like this one a lot because the rotation feels very fluid to me and I'm actually liking not having a permanent pet (only having artifact and trinket pets instead). I dig the visuals of it and the only real negative is relying on a pull move for PI application, but that is just a nit pick and not a real issue.

This other video is an aoe build by Rick Rex Gaming.

This is a more recent video and I like that it only uses skills within the power and that it does keep a summoner feel but does not revolve as heavily on pet buffing and is more visually interesting than my current loadout. However, unlike Woolie's, this one feels a bit clunky and stiff in the rotation for some reason. Aside from how it feels, I don't have much issue and what issue I do have can probably be fixed by just adjust to and learning the rotation until it become's second nature.

Anyway, sorry for this massively long post, hopefully it is readable and understandable enough. Basically I'm just wanting advice on which build I should go for or if neither of these are acceptable and if there is recommendations for something better for Sorcery. I do not have multiple armories or the funds to get them or anything off the Market, so I can only make use of in game freebies. I greatly appreciate the help and advice you can provide me on this.

TLDR: Sorcery: No pet or pet for fun times?

My original sorcery loadout is a little outdated. If you want to keep a no pet build it would be soul bolt soul barrage soul storm circle of destruction and you could keep fury on or you could replace him soul well for extra damage over time.
    That’s AoE.

For single target I would recommend going with vengeance heatvision final ruin circle of destruction and a pet. You don’t need heat vision but your over all numbers would be better.

If you plan to play casually and aren’t worried about trying to hard then I recommend staying with a pet build and using pet artifacts (source shard, grimmorium and quislet) as pets will do slot of the heavy lifting allowing you to play straight and still put up good numbers.

    Hope this helps

Also I don’t really check the forums so if you would like to ask me anything dorectly I’m in my discord and the official dc discord. I only found this cause my budd linked me to it.

Thank you very much. I'll keep sticking to the pet build then if that is the case. I'll just swap to a might focus since using precision is what was making it visually boring for me and I did enjoy might more, but had swapped to precision because I kept seeing that precision was better than might for all powers except munitions. Again, thank you for your response.

I apologize, I know you said to talk to ya on your discord, but I figured I'd reply here to at least keep this one response consistent and I'll message on Discord if I have any further questions. Thank you and hope your day/night is a pleasant one.

I also experienced the same thing as you when I first started leveling Source Shard (my first artifact). What made the pet build enjoyable for me was when I started leveling Lernae. That made me run transmutation/soul siphon (the pull) or circle and a basic damage dealing move (soul bolt for me) and the finisher. Made the power more visually appealing to me (especially with Soul Siphon) and a lot more fun because it allowed me to spam abilities more often. With my now leveled artifacts and allies (Zatanna and Emp Aquaman passive) I am always top 3 in dmg on the charts, not that I care that much about it.
