Hey y'all dcuo players, I believe the title gives it away on what this will be about. So here it is. Should it be kept as is, reverted to 4x, or perhaps 2-3x instead? Things to take into account can be many things such as future bounty spams, soloable-ness, convoy vs. boss mission, health amounts on ads, spawn rate, credit amount, etc. For my own response since i'm typing anyway, I feel it should be in between 1 and 4 so that way the health isn't too high and you don't have to do it 4x over, something like 3x would work for me as a compromise. For credit, the head augs should make a difference and if you have them both leveled up it could be down to a 2x run instead.
Honestly, I didn't mind it the way it was. I did the dailies and weekly bounties in between convoys. Plus, when there weren't any other players doing the convoys, I could solo them (something that's going to be more of an issue as new episodes come out, and expecially when it goes to EEG). Even when I soloed it, the convoy never got to the first turn. I tried it yesterday, and even with about 10 people working on it, we couldn't get rid of the escorts until the convoy got about 1/2 way to the first turn. Another attempt at it, with maybe 6 or 7 people, the convoy almost made it to the Boom Tube.
They changed it so that way it's impossible to do when it becomes early endgame and players are forced into buying currency to skip the episode due to their being zero population in that zone. If they're smart they will either relaunch the gear system or introduce another progression system. so players can stop crying about the clamp and stop crying about their not feeling any progression with their combat rating. Fun fact you're actually forced into buying currency already since there's hardly anybody in episode 48 open world Zone after 2 days of weekly reset running that mission lol So if you don't think anything is wrong with the gear system then you should get yourself checked
I preferred it the way it was before they tinkered around with it. I wished it spawned quicker the way it was before. I personally do not like this new adjustment. But, there are lots of things I don't like about what was changed in DCUO. We are stuck with it.
I was working it for a while and kept my health up, couple other dps showed up and got knocked out, fast. Why? I have a power type shield in my load out, lack mod is breakout health regeneration, weapon mod is absorption adapter and trinket loadout is personal dampening shield. For DPS players that blames healers. It's not just all depending and relying on healers. Gotta do some kind of self healing and protecting also.
I dont mind the change. It was very annoying the way it was. Big chances to loose credit if you werent camping the area. And the waiting in between rounds... This is how it should have been since release. A weekly mission that feels like a weekly mission. It is still soloable. And those that cant solo it in time, can still get it in a few rounds. Altho i do agree that a little health nerf would be nice.
The thing is, how active it is vs the difficulty. Such as making item drops rare vs how long it takes to get it vs how long it takes on the content being active. Limiting even more chances of being able to play the content that requires players to be active. Tuning the difficulty of this will only last for a short time, where the factor is to make the content worth the grind for all players to be active even when it becomes Omnibus. Giving players the reason to still play the content. In this and since the newest three episodes content and the grind of it and reasons for their difficulty tuning and being weekly and so on, the source marks should be increased to 12. This makes up for the struggles it takes even for new players to get source marks over time through EEG. Since it's loot lock and replay badges to reset, why not makes that a way to well, a way to help replay badges to make more money. Increases the source marks in the new episodes. Because just making changes here and there where it doesn't change the reward system for the grind and as well as making it worth the grind with out value other than difficult tuning and spawn times and other adjustments for the grind. Increasing source marks for new episodes making it worth the grind for new and veteran players. Solos 3, raids 5, alters I and raids and weeklies 12. Event versions are normal amounts, 1, 2, 6 and 10. When it becomes Omnibus, it becomes 1, 2, 6 and 10 Because these adjustments and changes a difficult tuning later and still as to no value to it to make it worth the grind.
I prefer it the way it is now, although I do think they need to lower the health of the adds and make the speed of the Convoy way slower than it is.
My suggestion: They should tie the convoy points given to the episode augments. I believe the convoy vehicle used to give 12 points, Having both augments providing the 50% chance of a bonus in open world would only add 1 or 2 points, meaning you had to still do it 4 times. If the augment bonus added 6 points for 25% success per augment, meaning a total of 12 additional max possible, that could cut the number of times to complete it in half. So, if they reset it back to the original setting, characters starting out would need to do it 4 times, but as their episode augments increased, they would cut that down to only 2.
I like the change when I'm on my characters who can just solo the whole thing. However, when I'm on my characters who are solely tanks and don't focus on dps, this is just insufferable, they were pretty much created to never have to rely on others with the open world weeklies but this is just a middle finger to them.
Funnily enough you get full credit now if you just attack the convoy no adds needed. But you need to kill the adds first before you get the shield down and now the adds have almost boss level health so you need a phase with around 5 to 8 people at least. I think they overkilled on the health buffs for both the adds and convoy but at least you only need to do it once.
IMO, they just changed it to another mission that was fun, and will now become impossible to do in six months when the numbers in this episode drop. Good look doing Stepp, Brim and Convoy next June when you're new to the episode and everybody else has moved on to the next identically formatted episode (or possibly the one after that).
At least Step and Brim will be doable with a good 'battle' build as they don't leave the area after a few minutes. Without anyone to body block the transport, it's gone many times by time you drop the last add....solo or otherwise. I suppose the fact it doesn't have a count feat is a saving grace. At least it will be doable on a weekly 'bounty' group.
