And see i think alot of people are confused because maybe some people didnt see the thread u linked in this 1. But im sure a ton of people watched the livestream for WM. And then they change things and just do a thread and im sure alot of players missed it. Its called communication and lately they dont seem very good at it.

This why u have people calling them liars and insulting them. I may not agree with how some people choose to express their opinion about all of this but i for sure understand the frustration. Id say the players i run with want WM and power dmg to be close to equal so we have a choice, and not to over complicate things, and last but not least dont force us into only playing 1 way. I know no1 is truly forced but cmon we all know WM is the way to dps atm.

I wonder if people also realized that If the Damage of WM was redistributed to be more might heavy than players who choose AM will always be at a disadvantage. Due to the fact WM combos are no longer a strong source of damage and the might crit is unavailable to them.

I seriously think people aren't quite think WM through

There are NO choices in this game. Either you use WM and like it or quit playing like me. Devs want you to play the way THEY want you to play.
  4. Remander Steadfast Player

If WM were balanced to begin with, they would be able to more adequately balance the powersets.
  5. TrueOlympus New Player

shoulda, woulda, coulda, but it is not reality. my point still stands. If the damage is redistributed the AM mechanics would need some major changes because they wouldn't be able to keep up with the WM crits

    Misconception is right..

"What we've got here, is a failure to communicate." -Cool Hand Luke

Throughout these conversations, (Dev's included) people are using terms with completely different interpretations of the meaning.

It amazes me how many people can't read a simple flowchart.

There are always Choices. To PVP or NOT. To PVE or NOT. To compete or Not. To Be a Might user or a Precision player. To support or To Damage. To support DC no matter what or not.

I support All the Devs and every decision they make.

The question on my mind is what happened to Dead Meat haven't heard from him in a while.

You are joking right ?...right ?

No I really want to know what happened to Dead Meat!

For this alone, I can't really accept anything you say in any serious way. They have made many bad decisions since the game came out and still are. They themselves don't support every decision they make. Why do you think they change things constantly?

Which is the reason I wanted to make a thread. :)

Quote from Mepps Confirming my argument!

    Yay. I love being right!

Are you in software or electrical engineering? That's what made it obvious to me, but I think that most do not know how a flow chart works. Based on the confusion from the two developer discussions, I'd say the majority of those who saw the chart leapt to inaccurate conclusions.
  15. SethZoulMonEl 10000 Post Club

The flow chart still says differently. A rotation with clipping and a power mechanic (PM) should be able to keep up with a rotation using weapon mastery (WM). Obviously due to the buffs weapon mastery provides, a rotation with clipping, weapon mastery, and a power mechanic should be better than those two options.

    WM = PM + clipping
    WM < WM + PM + clipping
    PM + clipping < WM + PM + clipping

Spytle essentially said the same thing in his opening post on the subject. Tunso re-iterated the same idea. Mepps also never said WM was necessary for both mechanics. We still need clarification in that regard.

Ah I have a degree in IT.
Nice explanation :)Hope this helps some folks to better understand it.

I'd like to see some videos; it helps to see gameplay and strategy in action

Not wanting to use WM and expecting to do the same damage would be like not wanting to include the third and fourth move of my weapon but expecting to outperform someone who used them, possible but unnecesary harder,

The third option (WM + PM + clipping) makes even more sense if counter mechanics are in place but lot of people complaints about those. You can only do WM if the enemies don't counter (Lunge/Block),
Many would cry if they did though

There are huge unbalances because what makes the game entertaining in the long run requires practice and experience, which awakens the crys of many; after changes, they themselves will complain when they master the maximum level of difficult, of a not too difficult mechanic, because is not challenging

Enemies need HomeTurf, Hand of Faith, Counter and WM in order to compete in fully gear T6 PVE; right now they are in Easy Mode

Some will even say Superman in Legends PVP is OP
  18. Karasawa Loyal Player

If you want to be technical then what you've stated is not reflected in the flow chart either.

There's nothing incorrect about the OP's premise. If you use a power mechanic/awesome mechanic you can't get WM crits. That's just a fact. So there's no choice being made as to "WM" or "PM." The true choice is WM crit or PM. And the point is its a damn stupid choice because WM combos dwarf both in terms of damage.
  19. SethZoulMonEl 10000 Post Club

That WM = PM is reflected in the flow chart. I extrapolated the rest from:

"Mastery [causes] required attacks to hit for increased damage" and it "permanently increases critical strike damage"

The logical conclusion is that PM + WM + clipping provides the most damage when used in a rotation together due to the increased damage and critical strike damage from Mastery. It is not represented in the flow chart, but it is a logical conclusion when taken as part of the overall picture.

The OPs premise that "The debate truly is, the Awesome Mechanic Vs. Weapon Mastery Power Crits. That is what is being balanced against eachother... You will use WM combos REGARDLESS. " is not what was originally represented by Spytle and Tunso. What was being balanced was WM and PM + clipping. What makes his premise inaccurate is that we will use WM regardless, but Spytle and Tunso both allude to WM not necessarily being involved with the PM + clipping rotation. TrueOlympus is arguing for the next logical step, but that is not what the developers presented us with, so his premise while right is also wrong in terms of clarifying the original development discussion posts.
  20. Remander Steadfast Player

So, what we really are looking at balance-wise is making WM precision combos + PM = WM precision combos + WM crit bonus.

Simplified, PM = WM crit bonus.

Problem I have with that is both require the use of WM precision combos, which is not what we were told would be the case. What that means is the expectation of the Dev team is that WM precision combos are the new baseline for weapon damage. At least they came out and said it. I guess that's why they made WM available for all.
