I applaud the fact to make lockboxes relevant again, but I dislike the fact the styles are account bound versus tradeable. It would have been much easier to find the style you were looking for/wanted when they were tradeable versus just shareable with your own account.
IKR... we're on page 4 and no negativity yet. Where's the negativity!?? It must be somewhere. 6 months from now we'll have a whole new wave of RNG posts though.
Give us the option to sell or trade the styles. They won't count towards any feats, they will help the economy and people will definitely be happy which is something the game could use right now. People have been waiting to get cross-faction styles for years now, don't make them rely on luck and overall bad Lockbox drop rates.
good point, why have trade system if we can't trade... looks like the 4 controllers with the consoles, we have it but almost can't use it lol
Sorry if this has been asked and answered already, but will we be able to get the feats for the cross faction styles? Awesome update either way!!!!
They're not new styles. They're styles from elsewhere in the game. The only thing that'll really suck is if you really want one particular style from the opposing faction. Then it'll never drop for you, of course.
The secret mind reading code that moves the loot drop item you want to the lowest probability has a new playground!!! Good heavens, what have we done?!
I know they're not new, I didn't say they were. For those of us that have the majority of styles already it will be even worse because the chances we'll get something we don't have will be extraordinarily low.
Another question, I didn't see it asked but apologies in case I missed it, if the boxes include "high level iconic suits" how far up does that go? Does it go all the way up to the end of Tier 6 (Wonder Woman and Circe inspired styles) or possibly even Tier 7? Or end somewhere lower than that? What about iconic suits that are tied to DLCs/Episodes such as Blood Cursed or Scion of Ion? If a Premium member who doesn't own War of the Light Part 1 buys a key and opens a box are they eligible for a piece of Scion of Ion style that they can consume?
My only request is that you remove cross faction styles from these or at least severely limit the ones you're choosing to put in there. Cross faction styles are a perfect opportunity to make marks useful again and put somewhat of a grind back into the game.
I vote no on tradeable. Here's why....I have every style on one toon besides Fury and the latest pvp set in which I am 2 pieces away. I did this by running the GL alerts and arkham every day for months. I ran t2 challenges over 100 times to get one piece I was hunting. People put a lot of work in to get every style. I had 5 pieces of Hive Defender before the War of Light made it easy. Do you know how many damn times I had to run that moon base? I am not negative at all about these boxes, but I hope they don't just give away these style feats. I could've been doing other silly feats like 500 cc bounties or 5000 reapers....but I chose to style hunt. You think GU47 pissed people off? The idea a 126 can't get a mark running Fos 1 is laughable. You should've seen some of my friends when they dropped pvp maps wins from 250 to 50. They felt utterly betrayed as they should. I was like at 186 and it's still the most pissed off at the game I have been. I get the devs are trying to excite people into playing the game as they should. I just hope they don't make a lot of hard to get feats handed out. Otherwise please give me a 500 treasure chest token and 300 cc bounty token and be done with sp. again, I applaud the devs for coming up with something new, I just don't want them to stab loyal players who put a lot of work in the back.
Holy cow! These are awesome! How often do Lockboxes usually drop? Its always been a mystery to me, and I've heard several conflicting answers.
Devs are not touching that question. I will save mine, worst case I'll get the same old stuff, best case I will score big.
If I recall correctly you have the ability to get one about once every six hours (of logged in game time with that character). However you won't actually get it (and reset the timer) until you go out and kill something that can drop one. Therefore if you're idling, or hunting shiny things or PvP-ing you may not see one for an extended period of time, but as soon as you go out and kill something it should drop.
