In Progress Chat Glitch

You can type in any chat rather it be LFG, Trade, League etc. It doesn't matter what you are doing in the game, or where you are located. The chat would not show up for you, but sometimes it does for other people. The only work around is to close the game, come back and it would work again.

Not sure if it's the same thing I've experienced, but I just had a weird bug where every new message being created was being put above the server and league MOTD in the chat box, making a sort of inverted chat. The only workaround was also closing the game.

I have experienced that multiple times, and it started around the same time as the weird animation delays and revive/interaction UI timing being off.

I only experienced it for the first time yesterday, leaguemates say it happens all the time when switching from villain to hero, but I had it when just switching casually from 1 hero to another hero. Server gets worse with each day passed, I guess *shrugs*

To the devs, this happened on PS4 and PC.

This seem to be a "chat order" problem, the message you typed in the chat will get pushed to the top of the chat above all other messages, that´s why you can´t see them on your client.

Needs to be fixed.

Update: Now I had this happen right after the cutscene and NPC talk at the end of The Command Ship elite raid.

Fully expanding the chat window vertically then back down again seems to put subsequent messages in the right spot.

Nvm Looks more like some random fluke that it started working. Can't get it to happen again.

Happens when I swich toons or a npc chats only fix I know is restarting the entire game

I've seen this with group chat several times. Logging out the character and coming back seems to fix it for me, but it's still basically gamebreaking.

Ever since the new content for the Brainiac episode dropped, it feels like this bug has gotten way worse with how frequent it triggers. I had it happen mid-alert, right after defeating the 2nd boss in Hall of Doom and having the Oracle/Calc./WhateverNPC comm talk

This chat glitch only happens for me on the PS5 version. When I switch between characters, chat is no longer visible for me. If I switch over to the PS4 version it's fine.

It happens on PC a lot. A league-mate plays on PS4 and also experiences this several times per week. I think you are lucky to not see it on PS4.

Gotta love it when the first character switch of the day already triggers this stupid bug...

I play on a PS5, using the PS4 client.

I've experienced both inverted text chat described above, as well as voice chat channels becoming disabled (player audio stops, number of users in the channel disappears.)

I've noticed both of these issues occur after switching characters, usually switching to a third.

The only way to fix the issue is to disconnect, close the app, and restart. However, I've had the issue immediately happen again after switching chat channels after the relog/reboot. This issue has been going on since about December last year.

Honestly crazy how the vc and text chat bugs have been around since like December 13th 2023. It seriously affects communication in game which is a major component to many feat runs or even just helping others in our league, affecting the atmosphere and game play. Worst thing is you won't even know its an issue until someone tells you cause you won't see the chats or don't hear someone.

What do the Devs need? More proof? More reports? More time? This has been marked "In-Progress" for months now while the issues happen literally daily even mid missions. Sometimes switching chats over and over fixes vc other times it breaks entirely and a restart is required. Is it just a "feature" of the game at this point?

I wish there was. This happens to me daily. I want to scream every time it happens.

Bugs like this go by months without being fixed, but they don’t miss a beat trying to profit off of something, even when it’s as little as Batman Day. This game is absolutely cooked.

Having this every day. Past two days it is always this way even without toon hopping. Absolutely broken.
