Can we get a distance indicator?

    somid like to share an idea I thought of the other day... (I'm sure others have thought of as well...

    But when tanking I notice a lot of dos are getting too close to the bosses... Cause they can't gage how close they need to be to get optimal damage with some of these new AMs that require mid range...

    So an idea I had was ... Indicator lights on your targeting cursor...

    4 colors red yellow green white

    Red = melee range "danger zone"

    Yellow= mid range

    Green = full range

    White = out of range ...

    I kniw I kniw this helps dumb down dpsing for those bad dps' but it also could help a littke with avoiding deaths ... Those who are getting in close for arctic gust emp mass terror whatever it is that needs mid range will kniw to stay in that yellow zone..

    to me it seems like a simple adjustment (could be wrong) but can save a lot of deaths from dps who are worried bout not being in optimal range ...

    Or the devs could give better boss tells that let you know when you need to vacate the area immediately. Random two-handed spinning attacks, staff aoe slams, ect just trigger out of nowhere with no or very little warning. If boss' attacks were better implemented then we wouldn't need a distance indicator.

    Simple easy fix. I like it.

    In the future, ya better tells would be great, but for now, this would be awesome.

    Really good idea. It could be made optional too for all the players who will inevitably ***** about its inclusion.

    This would actually be pretty great. I know for Mentals Advanced Mechanic, I have to be close to the boss in order to get full damage and there is a very hard boundary where the damage goes from full strength to horrible. Having to do the eye test can be rough in some fights, it'd be nice to know exactly how far I can stand back before I lose full damage.

    +1.

    This came up in another thread eariler... Apparently Spord says it's not possible for munitions.

    Make it part of the target system, we have crosshairs and a square in red, adding a circle under the target can't be too tough. It only needs to indicate medium range. It can be made optional and because it's integrated in the HUD graphics, only the player using it sees it.

    Advanced mechanics and weapon mastery are a patches on a previously created combat system... this is why parts of the original system seem broken at times.

    yes, I've used other players SoD/H circles many times

    I wonder why it's not possible tho it already goes from red to white

    I think it was in reference to the power sets and casting of individual powers. It's been mentioned a couple times in the context of AM revamps.
    Tying it to the targeting system is different because it's a catch-all it applies to everything. Your suggested is even simpler than what I suggested. I think it's a brilliant idea and would not even need an option turn it off. It's more of a UI thing.

    Great suggestion, we need something. Like seriously, wtf does 12.5 meters mean to me in a video game ? I don't even know how tall my own character is o_O

    Or they could work on not being lazy and making melee a viable option again ...

    "Hey guys, they want challenging mechanics in boss fights."
    "Let's make every melee attack the boss does a one shot."
    "It will make them think before they pew-pew at least"

    Yet another problem that could be solved by community-made UI mods. People would be lining up to improve the UI if they were allowed.

    For a game that relies so much on distance this is a great area for opportunity. They reference meters, why not meter indicators on screen like I'm seeing in FPS games.

    Yeah I hope they will consider this ... Nit sure if they've looked at this thread yet .. Hopefully so ...

    They could use the character outline for the colors and it will flash during combat and cant be toggled on and off like it is right now.

    I'd much rather see an on screen distance indicator. Could be implemented into the HUD, maybe if you have something target locked it would tell you how many meters its out.

    Now that sounds like something for the new UI.

    Great Idea, make it happen devs.

    Definitely a great idea, and very easy to add as it already exists to an extent with the Red/White in range/out of range indicator.

    Was talking about this again in game yesterday thought I'd bump the thread
