New feats were added in the Seasonal Category giving extra opportunity to do the Save The Universe Feats with the Flashback content. That is a really cool feature everyone will greatly benefit from, but there are some issues presented that make this content different and more difficult and very much more time consuming and not beneficial in the slightest on how it was all done before.

In the Save the Universe Category before when doing the solo, duo, alert, or raids at a higher difficulty it would count towards the feat counter of the easier difficulties as well. What i mean is if you ran a raid on elite and you were 0/50 for the feat and you completed the raid you would get 1/50 for elite, and it would also give you 1/50 for the normal version of the content as well. Back then the clamped content normal or elite would also count in there respective categories for the feat counter as well and you didnt just have to run the content at the current level normal or elite.

These new challenges that came out that allow Flashback content to count towards the feat counter in the Save The Universe Category dont operate the same way they did prior. Did some testing and running a Normal Alert or Normal Raid in the Flashback content does not count towards the Casual feat counter number that apparently goes up to 300 runs. In the Past the higher difficulty runs always counted towards the lower ones and it would be really nice if that happened here as well.

It would be nice if we were allowed to Run the Normal Versions of the Flashback Alert and Raid to gain credit for the casual feat counter because we would be using alot of game time with literally 0 return or in game items. There would be 0 point in running the content and resetting casual alerts and raids because you dont get any on content gear or renown, the loot table for casual content still locks because its the current content but you get omni rewards as a loot table and 0 renown, resetting the raid and alert 300 times isnt feasible or worth it for the possibility of catalysts and exobytes. With how things are currently set up we are supposed to run a casual alert and raid 300 times specifically for 0 in game items just to get the feats? That is a huge absurd ask and would be the crulest thing DCUO has ever done to the community, so please tell me this is a huge oversight and will get fixed to work like it used too. I am putting this in the bug category because the feat counter doesnt work like it use too for similar content. Please be merciful and fix this please. Thank you.

This is not a bug, this is by design.

Casual and Normal modes starting with Light & Rain: Day of Reckoning instanced content have a chance to drop renown.

Currently you can't spam Elite raids to get progress towards the Normal or Casual Raids/Alerts like it used to work. If someone is at 0 for every feat you need to run around 1200-1500 alerts/raids. There is no way this is intended. It is not how it used to work. Changing something like this to just artificially extend playing time is scummy please fix. Please

In another thread about this, a Dev confirmed that it is intended. Each difficulty level has its own counter.

I saw the post you mentioned. The dev mentioned nothing about the feat counter and said something about renown in casual

I really really hope it is just a bug and that the other thread was closed on misinterpretation.

Being forced to run on a lower difficulty to get progress that the higher difficulties should merit as well just feels really bad.

Agreed :( also a first class ticket to burnout. I can get behind high feat counts being a long term grind, but the lack of “backward compatibility” sucks - especially considering that’s how it worked with STU.

Having to run 1,500 flashback/stu instances is INSANE if elite does not count for normal/casual ones too. People struggle to find the will to run 99 of the same duos let alone 500 of the same [X amount] of flashbacks or STU content,

People barely run 1,500 pieces of content in their time on the game unless they stick it out for x+ years. I would be surprised if i have over 1,500 as a whole in my entire play time on my new main account i made in 2022.

for those wondering, i said 1,500 due to:
    250 solo/duo + 250 Elite variants = 500
    250 Alert + 250 Elite variants = 500
    250 Raid + 250 Elite variants = 500

It forces people to play the new content so excessively for those who missed out that it just accelerates any form of burn out. I ran 10 AnB Casuals and i already dont wanna play it anymore, not even attempted or will attempt farming Strike Team due to all the running around and the length of the mission.
If the feat included Omnibus, sure, perfectly fine by all means, you get rewarded for your time also instead of playing loot locked content.

You got those numers all wrong. Or was this just an example of how long and tedious it is to grind? It is long and tedious, of course, but those numbers are wrong. And youree missing the newly added Casual variants.

Please explain how i got all these numbers wrong.

Also, just because there are casual modes does not mean people still want to run the same single piece of content multiple times for the feat. Much like the 100 Iconic solos, 250 bottle duos. There are already people who have given up on the flashback feats because there is just so much to do. Elite dont count for normal or casual mode feats.

Each of these go up to 250 each
If casual goes up to 250, then it would be:
    Casual: Solo/Duo: 250. Alert: 250, Raid: 250
    Normal: Solo/Duo: 250. Alert: 250, Raid: 250
    Elite: Solo/Duo: 250. Alert: 250, Raid: 250

That would be 2250 instances IF elite does not count towards both casual and normal modes which is insane

I think the elite raids and alerts stop at 50. I think they also bumped some the difficulties up to 300
  12. Ryan_Ragenolds Well-Known Player

    Again, all numbers wrong.
    Gladly ill explain why.

    Casual:
-Solo/Duo : no casual feats added (yet)
    -Alerts: 100 (new counter)
    -Raids: 100 (new counter)

    Normal:
-Solo/Duos: 250 (these were not updated)
    Alerts: 350 (increased counter)
    Raids: 350 (increased counter)

    Elite:
    -Solos/duos: 50
    -Alerts: 50
    -Raids: 50
(None of the Elite get increased counters)

    Youre welcome.

Anyways, i did agree with you that the grind for this is insane. But just pointed out that you got the numbers wrong

Ah fair enough. A gross estimation of that then, i have been educated. I went based off the STU feats page on the wiki.
But alas, Still an insane grind. 350 alerts and raids on normal mode is a huge time sink, especially if its for new content.
